Sinceramente dais asco.
Wow, ok, so where do I start. Soul Reaver 2 Aged just as much as the first game, and not in a positive light, but more in a sort of tedious way with outdated mechanics and game design. I had to download a Patch to be able to play the game with no crashes or issues, which I recommend everyone to do so if you plan on playing, you can find this patch very easily in the community Forums. However, I had to set up my controller bindings with steam input (Gabe bless) and for the life of me couldn't get native controller support to work. The gameplay is unchanged, the combat is exactly the same but I want to say a little more refined since this is a PS2 game compared to the first entry which was on PS1. The exploration is not as bad because the map seems and feels to be smaller. there Isn't any collectibles for you to find and everything you grab is plot related. As a whole this game has less things to do and see compared to the first game but kept some of the jank. However, what this game also excels in (as the whole series really excels in this aspect) is the story telling, lore and world building. I cannot get enough of the history of this universe, every entry does such a good damn job at narration and delivery. Raziel Narrates his thoughts when you enter a new area or something plot related happens just like in the previous games. The story is expertly written and wraps up nicely from the last game. If you do play these games, play them for the story, because it is so well done that it was my main drive factor to complete this game. Everything else though was very subpar and not great. The game makes you backtrack multiple times in the play-through which can feel boring, repetitive and tedious. They try to make it feel "new" by making the place you backtrack a "different" time period in the timeline but it still has the same layout and for the most part, looks the same. The combat can be clunky and enemies many times recover incredibly quickly when you hit them without giving you time to recover. Other times Enemies have a potential to stun lock you because they have no wind down animations between attacks and you are put in certain situations where you have to fight multiple enemies at once, which makes those situations feel extremely unfair. The clunkyness of you having to min-max menu navigation constantly to switch from the astral plain to the mortal plain gets annoying quickly and I wish switching was a simple button instead. The obscurity of the puzzle solving is still in this game and there is almost no direction most of the times for you to know what to do or where to go, I do want to point out though it is not as bad as the first game since this game feels like one big long hallway. There is also not a single boss fight in this game, they seem to focus on just the story telling aspect and exploration. The gameplay as a whole just feels very underwhelming which I was surprised by this since I played this on the PS2 as a kid and remembered it being more fun than what it actually is. The Overall Conclusion, is it worth playing? Well, Yes. As I stated, The games universe, lore and story telling is fascinating and incredible, as well as it being very well written, but I would not play this specific port of the game. The remasters do a better job with the textures and control support (or even the original version of the PS2). The gameplay might be lacking but if you are able to overcome and overlook that aspect of the game, then you will have a great time experiencing what the writers created for this franchise.
Reseña de Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 (2001)

fun game but way to buggy
this deserves a remake. Would LOVE to see this series make a come back.

So a fantastic game series has some major issues on pc. First lets start with the opening cutscenes dont appear correctly. Then there is the matter of no controller ports. The biggest issue I saw was the button layout. This is a fantastic franchise for the ps2 days. I hope in the future they update these issues because as of the current state, It's not worth the time and effort to get the game to play. I'm not recommending this version of the game. I do however recommend the title itself.
From a lore perspective, it adds extra layers that make the entire Soul Reaver and, more broadly, the Legacy of Kain lore deeper and more intriguing. It includes numerous references to events from Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 1. However, when it comes to gameplay, it is quite frustrating. The puzzles are interesting, but the bugs and combat make it unnecessarily complicated, especially when facing the demons, which casts a negative light on the overall experience. Play it for the lore, but try not to get frustrated with the gameplay.
