Reviews
I feel compelled to write a positive review a little early, as I feel confident I'll enjoy this one for several hours to come at a bare minimum and want to show support while they're a new release. Very delighted by this unique, action-packed little gem, and very much enjoying local co-op especially. There are not multiple difficulty levels by default that I can tell, and I haven't fully completed the base run yet, but it's a nice moderate challenge with room to master a few different mechanics/characters to keep it interesting, and with the significant roguelite perma-upgrades between runs i'm pleasantly surprised at its relative accessibility/replayability while still preserving a sense of challenge. This game does feel somewhat uniquely like its own thing, at least to me...I feel like saying it's just a SHMUP skinned as an ARPG might be technically accurate but is not quite doing the unique vibe justice; it really "feels" like a high-fantasy Action RPG and a SHMUP had a baby, even if a lot of that is just tweaking the shmup gameplay formula with melee attacks, and the slow-paced, ground-unit style maneuvering (with plenty of terrain to deal with). So, fantasy action shmup vibes with roguelite meta-progress plus some character unlocks, but arcade-style power-ups, destructive environments for points/gold, and mid-core "relatively slow" bullet hell combat. Melee and ranged character classes for your squad, easy sprint mechanic with generous cooldown, and powerful ult ability with a cooldown. Each stage is re-created with some variety not just each run but even when you restart it due to dying, which does a nice job of helping keep things fresh, though I can imagine getting a little sick of some of the (slightly) sloggy boss fights after several more runs, tho the perma-upgrades should help alleviate the pain there. Stacking combat power-ups and stacking your party to max size (3 apiece in co-op, I think 5 in single player) instead of party-wiping and having to build back up will give a tremendous advantage in boss fights and the like and adds a fun snowballing payout for having a good run in the earlier stages. If you meet a score threshold each stage you also get a 1-up. The game is a blast in co-op btw and a dead player can always steal a party member from the other to respawn in real time which works well, and "rescuable party members" spawn along with power-ups at again a relatively forgiving "medium difficulty" sort of pace. The gameplay is fun, well-paced, fair. Medium-slow but not super slow. Yes it's a roguelite so you die and start over, but the shop upgrades are chunky and impactful. The difficulty curve between stages and zones is good, enemy variety not mind-blowing but good, handles pretty well, etc. Is it polished to perfection? No, but $10 base price feels modest/more than fair to me and the 30% off right now even better. If it looks like the kinda thing that might be up your alley and you appreciate novel stabs at classic formulas, I'd say give it a shot! The music is hit and miss but some good tunes, and I've found the pixel art delightful throughout.
3. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. 4.
Excellent shmup! Love the medieval fantasy setting. - Responsive controls - Bangers in the soundtrack - Cool upgrades - Variety of characters - Boss fights are a nice challenge without being too frustrating
Bom game, divertido, dinâmica única.
《Legacy Of Evil》
