This is the best MMA game we have on pc. Already says a lot.
Great deck building game. Tonnes of combinations of tactics and cards. I've got a kickboxer whose general tactic is to take at least half the opponents hit points off in the first round and a ju-jitsu guy who spends as little stamina as possible in the first only to start pulling arms out of sockets and bending knees backward in the second. Admittedly, the mini games to train and gain belts / moves / cards can be a little repetitive.
Rock Paper Stone, card fighting game, more fun and challenging in the earlier stages, gradually becomes a grind for Three Stars completion, beat the Training and perhaps against the Leaderboard. Smart packing your deck of cards and using them appropriately in matches, know when let opponent score first, just to store energy for the upcoming revenge. Flaws in, Bugs with sound effects when crediting coins after certain matches that is irritating to the ears, workaround is to off and on the sound effect option. Top 5~6 on the Leaderboard are mostlikely cheaters. Rank 1, 10 000 points is a joke. ' Combo ' style achievements are broken and un-lockable. Too much grinding for 1 million cash and no idea what is the ' max level ' achievement. Stopped at 86% completion. Overall a decent game. Recommend only to get it when its on a big discount. Not Recommend due broken achievements.
EDIT Feb 2024, after 200+ hours I've had to change my rating after asking the Devs several times to look at certain aspects of the game: This game seemed abandoned but new hope was given with a large update was issued in Jan 2024. Although several long standing bugs were fixed, there are still some problems that have been ignored or in fact it may be worse such as: Unnecessary, ill-balanced, immersion breaking, tactic ruining randomisation: I recently played 10 ranked fights. In those 10 fights twice I had the following happen. - For 3 consecutive turns all 3 cards I draw for use were not NOT from "my deck" i.e. the cards I selected, that I spent hours and 100 of matches levelling up and designed my fighter and their tactics around. - These 3 cards were from the "basic skill" i.e. garbage variety of cards. So not 1 card out of 9 was one that I would select by choice. - Similar to the above this also happened twice more on back to back turns - I was not given 1 card out of 6 cards that I selected or levelled. - If this replacement of selected and trained cards by random /basic /garbage cards had happened to start a fight when a fighter's stamina pool is low, and the corresponding number of "stamina affordable" and "situation appropriate" cards are fewer, I could it understand that or... - If this replacement of selected and trained cards by random/basic/garbage cards happened near the end of a fight when you may have used the majority of your "stamina affordable" and "situation appropriate" cards for situation X or Y that too could be forgiven, however... - When this regularly happens mid-fight after you've been careful on stamina use and have say 12+ stamina ready to use and 3 x basic cards with a stamina cost of 2 or 3 come up and you know you have 20+ cards in your deck that would suit the situation.... WTF? - Adding insult to injury I've seen it happen many times where you have a fighter built in a very specific way let's say "sprawl and brawl" i.e. lot's of strikes, lot's of standing defence and the only ground cards they have are "stand ups". Said fighter is in the standing has lot's of stamina and it's there turn to attack; so naturally what comes up? You guessed it 3 x take-down cards!?! Wut? A fighter designed such as that would never-ever by choice want to go to the ground. So how in the world do they draw not 1, not 2, but 3 TD cards in 1 turn? That is absolutely horrible randomisation, a horrible way to punish those that actually plan their fighter's fights and a horrible break from immersion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Review: An Awesome Idea for a Fighting Game, but... -The fun of building and competing your fighter is nearly ruined by BS mobile-mini-games that take the fun out of deck building and fight tactics - these mini-games were obviously made for mobile play and don't work well with a mouse and keyboard -- i.e. you'll have to grind and grind on PC to level your belts. -The deck building however is VERY well done and I like the career path and the ranked fights; the career path fights lets you learn the mechanics and styles before committing to ranked fights. The balancing of the 6 main skill sets I.E. Styles: Boxing, Muay Thai, Kick-boxing, Taekwondo, Wrestling, BJJ, is well done. But again, the silly mini-games to level your belts take some of the shine off. -In the career path it can also become Grindy to get to the higher level fights and reach the top end level 100 fights (you often have to over-level your fighter i.e. by grinding older fights, older training or ranked fights). However keep in mind you don't need 3 stars in all the career fights to keep progressing, in many you only need 1 star to move to the next fight and once in awhile you may be asked to have say 100 stars in 50 fights to progress to fight 51, 52 etc. Generally when that happens if you average 2+ stars you will keep moving along. My favourite part of the game is to concentrate on the deck building strategy by levelling the Cards that I do like, so I can have my fighters fight styles I find interesting. Just fighting with styles I like has worked well for me and to my observation you can progress a fighter very high in the rankings usings any combination of styles you like. I was able to hit Top 10 in ranked fighting only using skills I liked when my main fighter was only level 30 and at about career fight 79-80 or so. From there as stated earlier levelling a character to 50 with 5x Black belts is very Grindy -- the better part of the game is the ranked fights. In ranked fights, I really like the deck tactics and swapping out new combinations of cards to make entirely new fighters. --- If they actually made real multiplayer / PvP and fixed a few bugs I would give this game a 9.9/10 and buy copies for about a dozen friends. --Until then it's an OK diversion 7/10. -Caution this game and the Dev went silent for about 3 years but recently (Dec 2023) have come back online and began posting again - will any future development come of this? Who knows? I remain hopeful.
This is an obvious port of a low budget mobile game with no microtransations. It has bugs, its grindy, some of the minigames don't work well on a mouse. But at the end of the day I'm loving the game in short bursts and the card game design is clever and effective. If they sold actual physical card packs, I'd buy in. The rules are fairly simple. Each player has Health and Stamina. Stamina builds up each turn and you spend it on playing attack and defense cards. There is no limit to the cards you can play so long as you can pay the stamina cost. Players will take turns attacking and defending until one of us is knocked out. Each card targets High, Middle, Low. Defensive cards soak up damage to the correct height but are wasted if an attack doesn't target it. To add depth the game has multiple fighting styles that have special card effects that play very differently: A few examples: - Muay Thai has CRITICAL which has a % chance for bonus damage - Wrestling has GRAPPLE which reduces the targets stamina - KNOCKOUT and SUBMISSION have the potential to end the fight immediately. The game gets clever by playing with visible hands. I know that my opponent has a strong leg defense this turn and he knows that I have a strong high attack. It becomes a mind game of "I know that he knows..." where you're trying to predict your opponents actions so that you can deal damage with the least stamina cost. It's exciting and it's strategic and its fast. And, surprisingly, the AI nails it. It seems to follow a strong logical sequence so that you can generally read what they are going to do. I can usually narrow most turns down to 1 or 2 potential actions the AI will use which maintains the psychological feeling of the game. It even pulls off some surprising edge cases where it assumes that it's hand of strong defenses will be enough to deter an attack and not actually play any. The AI doesn't feel cheap or random, it feels really good to fight. But the metagame around the card battles isn't nearly as strong. There is basically a linear path of 100 opponents to fight and six linear training paths to go down. It's all about fighting along the path (And replaying fights) to gain experience, to unlock training, to earn new cards. Loop and repeat for waaaaay too long. So this is a game that works in short bursts. In my case, I'm logging in for 1-3 fights each day. It's a fun experience in short bursts back definitely lacks the meta for anything more than casual play. In addition, the animations tend to be terribly slow and the game lacks any way to speed them up, skip them, or otherwise speed up the gameplay. They don't look awful and the game doesn't feel bad, but sometimes you don't want to watch a slow motion diving knockout punch that you know won't connect. Finally, there are bugs including one that's game-breaking. The deck building doesn't seem to clear properly when you filter so you'll see an ugly afterimage of other cards from the previous page and it looks AWFUL. In addition, certain menus in the shop seem to freeze my game entirely so I guess I won't be buying any cosmetic pants. I haven't heard of other people having these issues, so maybe its my machine... but I can't not mention issues this severe. Overall, I actually love this game. The full price may be a bit high for players who are curious or don't think the linear progression will work for them, but it's more than worth the sale price that I paid.
dont buy this ♥♥♥♥ it doesnt work and has many bugs worst game ever its a moblile game full of bugs
simple mix martial arts fun
Un gioco sorprendente! Altamente strategico e molto profondo nelle meccaniche di gioco, ma può essere giocato anche da chi non vuole impazzire per farsi un deck. Molto valido sotto il profilo grafico, intuitivo, discreti i combattimenti on line. Uniche pecche, un bug che mi blocca il gioco quando vado sulla sezione accessori dello store del mio fighter. Visto il prezzo, raccomandabile!
