love a game that's horny and fun! the writing is witty and engaging and the voice acting is really amazing. the combat was really fun and the whole game really gave me the feeling of playing dnd with your horny friends
If you like satiric comedy, spicy / horny writing and a touch of Fire Emblem, then this game is a true gem for you. Even if you don't want the combat to be challenging and simply treat it as a Visual Novel, this game is still absolutely great. The characters, while clearly satirical figures in a word of bureaucracy and paperwork fetishism, have a surprising amount of depth and love in their writing that makes them all likeable in their own way. (Yes, even Pallas). The developers also deserve praise here for the quick adressing of bugs, issues and quick implementation of QoL features within the first week of release alone! Overall a 9/10, would become insurance corpo slave again. (Collar and all)

I did really enjoy this game, it has a lot of things that make it hard to love. (light spoilers ahead) First and foremost the best part of this game are the characters and voice acting. The voice acting is top notch and they really do a great job bringing these characters to life. I liked just about every character and even some of the ones I didn't like at first really grew on me. You can date all your party members too and the romances all feel good. When you can endear me to the stinky crazy rat guy, you've really done something right (but none shine in comparison to my beloved Jazz). While you can be polyamorous in this game, I feel like it's done as a bit of an after thought. By the end of the game it felt like only one of them was acknowledged at all. None of the other characters really seem to care and mostly feels like you're just the center of a harem where they only like you and don't care about the others. There's 2 party members that are strictly monogamous. (Idk if there's story reasons for it, and i'm not gonna replay the game TWICE to figure that out) so why not let them all be dateable together at that point? The only one of the two that has an outcome to you not dating them monogamously is [spoiler] Avarice who ends up dating his butler which I thought was a cute development [/spoiler]. So it really makes the fact that the other monogamous one has nothing besides for some "feels like he has a crush and doesn't want to admit it" energy accentuate that after-thought feeling. The story and writing itself was pretty good. The jokes were consistently funny throughout out and man is this game horny. They really showcased it in the ads, but it really doesn't prepare you for HOW horny the game can be. It's not a bad thing and leads to a lot of crude/vulgar jokes (and some borderline smut with the romances (; ) which I found funny but I know certain people would get tried of that humor quickly. I thought the ending was a little anti-climactic and the game leads you into the "not so great" ending without much explanation and really undoes a lot of character development by doing that. But you can just reload your game file and get the good ending right? NOPE. That brings me to my biggest issue with this game. A Visual Novel/RPG/Dating Sim not having save slots is absolutely baffling. Want to see all the character interactions? Nope gotta replay the entire game to see that. There's this weird obsession with 'no re-dos" that the devs were really committed to. It would be one thing if it were a togglable option, but you're forced into accepting every decision you make, good or bad. This philosophy carries into the gameplay as well. It's a tactics game with a simple rock, paper. scissors combat. While the gameplay itself is fine, it's easy enough but can be overly punishing on mistakes whether they be blunders or accidents. The whole "no re-dos" applies here too. Accidentally move your character to the wrong square? Gotta deal with it. Enemy got a random crit and killed your guy? Sucks to suck. Fail the challenge where you need to kill a unit with a certain unit but the enemy AI goes to attack a random character and gets counter-attacked by a different character and dies? Guess you'll have to do this battle over later. While I'm not usually a fan of tactics games, it's relatively easy. A little too easy. While the bonus objectives can be tough, (a little frustrating at times if you really wanna get the mastery achievements) completing the battles is easy. The game starts adding in more challenge towards the end, but that's it. It felt like the game was gonna be longer and start ramping up the difficulty but you get to the end and the final boss is a pushover and the game is over. There's also a handful of bugs that really hamper enjoyment. Sometimes character dialogue is so quiet that you can barely hear it, dialogue gets randomly cut off, or the dialogue doesn't match up with what's being said. I enjoyed most of this game with the dialogue on auto-play and almost every time a " . . . " dialogue came up it wouldn't auto play and I would have to click it and that would sometimes also skip the upcoming dialogue too. Which there's a conversation log now (which wasn't there on launch) so that has alleviated that issue a bit but is still annoying. They've been releasing a lot of post-launch patches, so hopefully a lot of these will be fixed. Overall despite some of the negative things I had to say, I really enjoyed this game and look forward to any sequels or DLC they may do with Ledgerbound in the future. I really enjoyed my time and hope they take the feedback and use it on the next one.
Liking the game so far and eager to keep playing! Without spoiling too much, here are a few things I've especially enjoyed in just the first few hours: 1. Silly legalese 2. Rats 3. Waxing/Waning mechanics and combos 4. Art direction (characters and environments) I also share some of the critiques voiced by others: 1. Unless you're playing a roguelike, auto-save should feel like a safety net -- not a punishment. I've already accidentally double-clicked through several dialogue options without even getting to read them, and now I never will. 2. Semi-related to #1, you are "warned" not to use the [Restart Battle] button to cheat, but it hasn't shown up as an option any of the times I've wanted to use it (to cheat). 3. More than once I've been presented dialogue options with no apparent difference. I understand needing the plot to progress in a certain direction (like having to work late so two characters can end up alone together), but circumstances beyond my control could force me onto the intended path AFTER I've selected an option that actually appeals to me. Also a few gripes that might just be me: 1. The title screen has junk pixels that look like someone sloppily erased over Continue, New Game, and Settings. Pretty minor, but it's the very first screen players see, and they'll see it every time they open the game. 2. Sometimes I would like the dialogue to progress automatically while I do something else, like write a Steam review while a cat talks at me for far too long. In other words, I wish the game didn't pause/mute on focus loss. 3. Clicking twice for every move feels so much less intuitive than click-and-drag. A toggle/option would be nice. 4. It took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize you can't move before clicking "Begin Battle". Squares shouldn't ever be highlighted if you can't move there. 5. Scripted losses in tutorials should be illegal (referring to the VERY first fight only). 6. The dragon puts her vape behind her ear with the mouthpiece facing down, which seems like it would drip e-liquid down the back of her neck. EWW. I'm looking forward to meeting more party members so I can start kicking out those that annoy me...it's really just the cat. I don't get all the interest in the cat. Aura is lovely, though!
I fell in love with this game! It was so much fun. It was short but compact with so many stories. The characters were funny as hell. And I really didn't expect the "romance" to go that hard and yet it did. Inspired me to make my own game like this! 10/10.
i had no idea that this was from people that worked on Helldivers 2 originally and that totally makes sense. When I read the premise I was amused and decided I had to try it. When I heard Viper (From Valve's Deadlock) voice actress as Jazz, I was even more excited because she was perfect for this character. Then there's Matt Mercer and other amazing voice artists. the gameplay is fun, the story was interesting, all of the characters really grew on me. I did decide to turn off having to worry about time management, and I'm so glad that's an option because I couldn't choose who to talk to during the break sections. I describe this game as... Danganronpa or Monster High meets Fire Emblem. But either way. I loved this game and I suggest at least checking it out. It made me feel things, and I don't JUST mean horny.
Without ability to manual save its not my cup of tea i don't want to replay round "later" - i want to replay round "now"
All in all, I enjoyed the game. Not 100% sure, but enough to not regret my purchase. I hope this game gets more love and more content added, because I've fallen for Rayna and her crew of misfits. But I can't recommend it outright, simply because if you're looking for a positive review to push you into buying the game, you're going to get this no matter what I say in this review. So pop of King/Queen, go gettem. BUT, if you're on the fence and want something that feels like a fully polished game with great writing, fun combat to keep you engaged. Many scene of lovey-dovey kisses, lewd hand holding, or down right NSFW scenes. Then you should look somewhere else, unfortunately for that. You're going to have to go to games like BG3 or Mass Effect. Let this gem cook just a bit longer. However I should also explain what I dislike about the game and why it has led me to not recommend it, just in case you actually are curious. Now, the fighting really isn't the reason most people will play this game. I understand that, isn't why I played the game as well. But it's such a mainstay in the game that it can't be ignored and unfortunately, its the weakest system in the game, by a county mile. The structure of the game goes like this. Rest, combat, Rest, combat, Rest, combat, Rest, combat. So on and so forth. I get that it can't be complex or other games like it do something akin to how it plays, but I feel so let down that I can't explore this world and its weirdness, that I can only ever talk to these characters in brief railroaded scenes. On the topic of the actual gameplay, its.... fine. Its not great, its nothing to write home about and its not so poorly implemented that it kills the vibe. That being said however, and before we do continue. I'm not a game designer so take this with a healthy grain of salt. But it feels like it was reaching for something greater, but wasn't allowed to grab it. I can see where they were going, I can see how some fights were planned to be this exciting encounter... but it never actually plays out like that, some fights are needlessly hard. Others are oddly easy, some enemies are more annoying to deal with by degrees then others, well some bosses are so stupidly simple that I was left wondering if that was it? Very rarely did I use the swag that the game gave me, simple because most of it was so niche that it was basically useless, or in some fights I would soft lock myself out of three stars because the swag I choose to go into the fight with would hinder me in a way that I couldn't complete it. Stack on top of that, a oddly thought out time management system that penalizes you for dong ANYTHING! With a debuff system that makes failing anything so extremely painful that doing anything but mid-maxing fights in the harder difficulties. A must. Again, this pain and frustration can be easily skipped by playing on lower difficulties... but at that point. I have to ask why make them in the first place? Moving on from that, there are little things as well. VC's messing up a line and starting over while the game/chat box doesn't acknowledge the mess up. Broken chat boxes, mix matched VC lines and what is written on the chat box. I am pretty sure also that some of the sprites eyes were broken as well, as in one of their eyes would go missing. Also, I do not know if this was just something that happened to me. But I am pretty sure that some scenes that happened on my playthrough happened out of order? I can't verify cause some of them are spoilers, so I'll just have to wait on that bit. But just enough little things that makes me wonder how bad the game was before their fix. Now lastly, the Romance and characters. Honestly, I feel extremely torn about this. I love the characters. I love that they're not cookie cutter characters, they all have personalities. They all have reasons and they all stick to them. The game made it feel like I was allowed to like them or dislike them, purely based on who they were as a person. I wasn't snapped into loving them all, or hating one person over another. Sure I didn't have the freedom as in BG3 or Mass Effect, but this is a harem game for Rayan (who deserves it) so I get that in the end of the day. I can't stab one of them in their sleep. But it STILL didn't force me to love them, it allowed me to dislike a character. Which, up front. I did, there are characters in here that I just straight up don't like. BUT, and a big BUT. There are characters in here that I didn't like, but ended up loving at the end. Simple because the game let me, because they were characters. Who breathed, who felt alive, who would dislike an action or not break who they were to conform to a cookie cutter idea of what the "average" person wanted. The game, the writers and the producers. Let me dislike a character, then let me fall in love with them. I do not know if this will be a common sentiment, all I know is I was so tired of every character in fiction or shows or games. Being so perfect and sexual and blank and boring and forgettable. It is a breath of fresh air, when a dating sim lets you dislike a character you can romance. HOWEVER, with all that out of the way! I think the game would, even with the bad gameplay loop. Be a full on endorsement, if they let me have more time with the characters. I eluded to this before, but with how linear and "railroad" the game is, there isn't time or space to interact with characters outside the 1 - 2 beats of the game. You can't take these characters out on a date, you can't interact with them outside of very scripted events. You can't give them gifts or learn more about this through the map or through the world. Which was honestly a let down, especially for me. Who ended up falling in love with this weird, awkward, confusingly horny world. I had wished to learn more about it then through walls of text, with the people I was smooching. On top of that, there is only like two different variations of sprites for Rayna and any chosen character. A big let down with how horny this game is and how much of a build up there are to some of these scenes. But one of my bigger issues, was with the group itself. All but two characters are Poly, which means there really isn't a reason NOT to smooch them all. I get that this is Rayna's harem game (the nerd deserves it) but it would spice up the relationships and group dynamics (IMO) if they kept that feeling of everyone feeling like they lived in the world and not a harem game. They don't have to act negatively, but everyone being on board with being in a Poly doesn't feel right, especially for one character who was Poly when I really thought she wouldn't be. It just makes replaying the game feel redundant, since 50% of the game is meh and you're only ever seeing at most, two versions of every sprite. If you've read this far, I hope that it came across that I loved this game. I loved the characters, I disliked some. I loved the world, and disliked the gameplay. But most importantly, I hope that I expressed why I cannot recommend this to someone who is on the fence. I do hope that this game and this world gets more love. I hope that this is not the end of Rayna's story and that I can interact with them in the future in different and fun ways. It was hard, thus. That I not give this a thumbs up, but if you truly love something. Its my belief that you can tell comment on its bad parts.
So much fun! The voice acting is amazing and the storyline is so creative. Such a great game!
