Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning

Pure RPG heaven. A vibrant and surreal setting that feels massive but alive, intuitive combat that puts Elder Scrolls to shame, interesting story lines, rich lore. A true hidden gem of a game.

One of my favorite games ever! I've revisited this game so many times, the world is beautiful and I enjoy seeing every inch of the gorgeously crafted scenery. I actually avoid using fast travel a lot of the time because I enjoy running through the maps looking at everything so much, there's so many places that would make beautiful screenshots that I have to stop myself from going full photographer mode. The writing and characters are fun and memorable and there are SO many different factions, side quests, areas and dungeons to explore. The character ability/skill system is really neat, there's a lot of builds you can make and respecs are encouraged and built into the lore so you can experiment without stress and try out a bunch of different styles within a single playthrough! Combat is exciting, flashy and feels accessible for a casual gamer like me who usually struggles with real-time. Edit: The main reason you're going to want Re-reckoning over the original in my opinion is area scaling, where in the past areas/monsters/loot was locked to the level you entered (within preset ranges), and now every time you re-enter an area it will rescale to you level (again within a range). This massively improves the experience and leveling as you can wander through the map with more freedom and return to previous areas as you choose in a more organic narrative fashion instead of clearing entire areas at a time to avoid locking areas to low levels.

This game is so fun to play. I remember playing it before through unscrupulous means so when I saw it discounted on Steam recently, I did not hesitate to buy the complete game. It is even better than I remember with all the quality of life improvements introduced in this edition. Most of all, the remaster did not go overboard with the high-definition textures and maintaining the charm of the game that even my 8 year-old laptop can run it buttery-smooth. Kudos to the developers on remastering this classic!

宣传图看着吸引人，西方魔幻那一套，可是实际游玩体验不太好。太老了，不是说画面，而是玩法，究极通马桶，一堆支线配合着单调的跑图，乏味的奖励，下一个任务还是如此，越玩越困...

其实啊，我早就原谅不能跳爱闪退王国了。
