The minds of New York Times bestselling author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston have combined to create Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a new role-playing game set in a world worth saving.

Ellen was right to force Luke to play this against his will.
Ellen was right ;-)
Fine, Ellen. I'll play it again.

The game is great but EA has added a forced arbitration clause to the EULA which basically revokes my ability to play the game without signing my rights away which I refuse to do. I would highly recommend torrenting this game to play it.
ive played this in like 12 hour spurts never getting further than the 2nd of 4 regions the desert, which was just the same but with slightly different colored enemies you already fought. I always know Im got bored but somehow think maybe itll be different then realize the combat is ultra repetitive and boring after a few hours. Its kind of like greedfall except that lost any reason to finish after maybe 20 hours of a 40 hour game, this one only makes it 10.
Launching game first time on my current system gave me EA server error. After trying twice I was near giving up on my ambitious goal of playing a 2012 game and hit ESC and lo and behold the whole EA thingy can be circumvented but nobody tells you or better yet deletes this ♥♥♥♥ from the game files. I got 600x400 resolution for starters and diving into game options gave me no option to change. I ran Lossless Scaling in parallel and after restarting game a resolution option appeared magically. Given the potential of my setup running the game in 4K would be no problem besides me lacking a suitable magnifying glass for the UI. From my impressions KOA Reckoning hasn't seen any curation or maintenance of game data in the last decade which was to be expected given EA's and Steam's history. After the IP was sold to THQ in 2018 there's even less incentive to do anything to improve user experience. Personally I don't get why I should pay again for a re-release that looks pretty much like the original. I enhanced my graphics with KOA care package from the Nexus and Lossless Scaling to magnify the UI. Now I'm a happy camper playing the original and avoiding another cash grab.
I got this one and Skyrim at the same time and prefer this one. Better looking, better writing and better combat.
