I love the board game, but yikes. This adaptation is not worth the asking price. The graphics are ugly, the animations look extremely cheap, and the annoying text intros and outros were obviously added because they couldn't come up with a more engaging way to present the game. Worst of all is the way cards are handled. They are the most important elements in the game, and it's imperative that you keep track of them at all times, but you have to drill down with a bunch of clicks to get to the text. It would have been much better to have all the information readily available in mouse-over pop-ups. Overall, very amateurish and low-effort. Wait for a sale if you absolutely must get it, but even then you'll probably consider refunding. It's not nearly as fun as the physical version.
Fairly laggy and no online multiplayer Used to be one of my favourite board games so was looking forward to this. It’s a semi decent port I do like the interface and the fact you can speed up the gameplay however there is no online multiplayer yet so I don’t see the point of the digital version since the physical is only £10 more. I also found that it was a little laggy during the tutorial but that could just be for me. I think you could do online multiplayer through the features on steam but it’s usually even more laggy that way so I say for now only buy the game if u don’t have room for the physical board game or if its on a steam sale and want to try it out.
No multiplayer in 2026??? We need to be able to skip "cinematics".
At the time of this review 5/21/26 about 2 hours. i can not in good faith recommend this game. that could change. and I'm going to keep playing and since it says the devs read these reviews. I'm going to keep it real first thank you for bringing this board game to life. super rad! are we still in beta? if that is the case, is there a discord? we do not get a lot of these types of games and to be honest we are very grumpy people so can we be involved with helping fix the bugs and test possible updates? as far as the review of the game goes. it does everything it can to capture the goofy essences of the board game with the character effects and dry relaxed humor. and the game rules are intact. but we are missing a lot of mechanic updates, such as score keeping, wins/loss records. profile updates for multi-player hot seat. it needs online pvp in order for this game to succeed past this launch. the only thing most of us like more than playing these games is the idea that we do not have to event talk to another person and play a human. there has to be leaderboards, there has to be game mode options such as multi monster play 2v2 3v3. there also has to be incentive. it could be as simple as random collectables or as complicated as skin, dice and super move accessories . we just need something to brag about to that one guy on the subway who's in a k hole and thinks I'm a half man half submarine, they are they only ones who listen, for what the game is. its a perfect replica with a slightly boring gameplay. i would pull it out if the one friend who i played this game with drove a few states over to show him they made it and then i would pull out the game and put wrestling on in the background. it needs more.
This mainly feels too overpriced for what it is. With a price tag like that, you'd expect this to be some kind of ultimate compilation of the "King of" series with all the versions, expansions, variants and so on. But no, instead it's just the base dice roller, except slower! You can just get a better playing experience for free on Board Game Arena. Has the Duel version too
this is a lot of fun plus there is simplified strategy that goes into playing this just like the board games. This is definitely a must-have if you're a fan of the board games. Worth re-visiting, hope they expand computer or app versions of their games in the future. Glad to support this!
I enjoy the board game so I got this. Bit laggy but that's not real important to the game play as its turn based. Though the AI could use a scaling option. If you don't already have the board game its a cheaper option, but if you have the game already I'd wait to see if they improve the video game some first.
Game works on steam deck. Unsure why pc users experiencing lagging issues. Other than bad choices fun dice chucking game on cpu
Excellent game. Great party game. Been playing the board game for years. Can't wait for them to add all the expansions to this. I need evolutions!
Works fine for me, plays just like I remember playing the boardgame, and I'm enjoying the couch coop with the family. I really hope they add evolution dlc, and I would also look forward to online multiplayer. Purchased on sale.
