Vestiges: Fallen Tribes - Early Access Review https://youtu.be/irhNkV30JYk?si=-j23pmgwYYhnVPLl A Promising Start, But Still Needs Some Work Vestiges: Fallen Tribes is a turn-based deck-building battle simulator that offers a unique take on the genre. While it's still in early access, there's a solid foundation here, with strategic gameplay and a variety of units to experiment with. Key Features: * Deck-building: Create your own decks using a variety of units, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. * Strategic gameplay: Place your units carefully on the battlefield to gain a tactical advantage. * PvP and PvE: Battle against other players or challenge yourself in single-player scenarios. The Good: * Engaging gameplay: The core mechanics are fun and strategic, making each battle exciting. * Variety of units: There's a good selection of units to choose from, each with their own unique abilities. * Potential for growth: With more content and updates, Vestiges could become a fantastic VR experience. The Bad: * Lack of depth: While the gameplay is solid, it feels a bit shallow at the moment. * AI issues: The AI can sometimes make questionable decisions, which can disrupt the flow of the game. * Early access limitations: As with any early access title, there are some rough edges and missing features. Overall: Vestiges: Fallen Tribes shows a lot of promise, but it still needs some work to reach its full potential. If you're a fan of turn-based strategy games and don't mind the early access nature, it's definitely worth checking out. However, if you're looking for a fully polished experience, you might want to wait for future updates.
Works on Reverb G2. This is a neutral review. Vestiges is a decent auto-battler with VR support, but it is unclear, if it will get big enough playerbase with release and Quest cross-play. Current PvE content is fun but limited. I've played Vestiges for 3+ hours while searching for a PvP opponent in the background, and was only matched once. And even then online match did not start - the game just froze. So the current state of online play is through Discord only, which for me is as good as dead. However, I still had fun playing PvE campaign. It is structured as a puzzle, which is interesting but does not provide much replayability. There is also a convenient training mode, that allows easy testing of decks while playing against yourself. But there is no option to play vs AI, which could be very useful if the game fails to build an online player base. Graphics in VR are mediocre and perform terribly, but it is addressed in the Roadmap and already was slightly improved in one of the patches.
Couldn't beat the second mission. I'm done for now but these missions should have better tips. Also the room graphics could use higher res models. Fun game but I don't like getting stuck.
It's a fun combo of a card game and auto battler. The game is currently unfinished, but the developers are really attentive to the community and patch issues. Currently has a ranked PVP mode and a mission mode. It's really easy to recommend this to anyone who likes auto battler games.
Good game with an interesting concept. Until now there are 2 factions to play with. You place your units before the battle starts. There are missions with different difficulties. I could not try the online part yet, but this must be really fun. I wonder if there are plans to make bigger maps and let us play 2v2 or 3v3 online. Here is some gameplay with the Meta Quest 3: https://youtu.be/k4eQVjEjkK0
4 hours is all it takes to complete the main story campaign that was dull and uninteresting. After completing the the game there is no way to play random missions solo only pvp which is dead. There are only 3 maps and 3 factions which while they are good are boring... this is not a 25$ game maybe for 5.99-10 it would be worth it.
Vestiges: Fallen Tribes is one amazing game, with watching the devs with so much passion it deserves so much, i took part in the first tournament and the CM during that time was incredible, i honestly want this game to gain more attention and love, it's amazing in VR as well as desktop.
