Just Cause 3, currently the best game in the franchise, is both still functional on modern systems and is well worth playing. Just Cause 1 is extremely buggy and doesn't even run on most modern systems, Just Cause 2 is somewhat buggy and doesn't even run on a lot of modern systems, and Just Cause 4 had lost a lot of substance and soul with only cool disastrous weather which does not make up for the loss. Pros: + Entertaining grappling hook/rope attachment mechanic that can be used for combat, traversal and just entertaining yourself. You're basically Cuban Spiderman, except you glide in place of swing + Great mechanics allowing you to traverse quickly with the rope attachment, including wingsuits, parachutes, skydiving, plane and missile surfing, and momentum physics + Physics are not too realistic, makes for more fun + Beginning of game has fast pacing and throws you into the fun + Lots of action packed elements and explosions a plenty + Decent visuals and steady art direction + Attention to detail + Continuously saves your liberation progress Cons: - Must sit through lengthy splash screen sequence and always online log-in after each game launch. In-game pop-ups annoy you every so often when you play offline or when connection is lost. It will force you to login even after selecting play in offline mode - Menus are cancelled with Control key rather than Escape key and cannot be rebound, even though Escape key opens and closes main menu - In-game UI doesn't always show correct bound keys - Control schemes and mechanics could be more intuitive and fluid overall - Most structures and destruction you cause respawn and clean-up - Some main characters are unoriginal. Some have a striking resemblance to those of Uncharted - Enemies and non-essential NPCs look quite generic - Ubisoft outposts - You have to do side activities if you want to upgrade your grapple rope - A lot of the story missions seem like tedious side missions - The killing of innocents should have deducted from your chaos points - Enemy vehicles will sometimes disappear and reappear, particularly boats - Map is somewhat hard to read at times, especially without a legend. It also looks almost exactly like that of Far Cry 3 - Story missions are too hand-holding - Ending is fairly abrupt, seems rushed or without care - The game will crash occasionally even on high-end systems Mixed: ~ Open world ~ Strong Spanish/Cuban setting, art direction and accents Fun Fact & Brag: I currently hold the record for #1 highest altitude gained in a single parachute deployment on the PC leaderboards. In conclusion, it is a good game to just mess around in and to liberate settlements. The game is structured like a typical AAA game of this genre, though the pacing and order of things is unexpected, and feels more like a AA game, which is a good thing. However, it is not without some AAA slop, as the story lacked much substance, the upgrades were both unnecessary and trivial and there are way too many settlements both in plain sight and hidden for you to find and liberate. Overall Rating: 3 out of 5
Just Cause 3 is a timeless classic, everything about this game is about causing chaos and feeling nature at it's peak. This 2016 Game has made my childhood the best thing ever! Thank you JC devs for this amazing game
love it + great backstory
the game is good, but sometimes the movement feels like i've taken my balls and just started rolling it over my keyboard. other than that the game is great
