A timeless sandbox game that never gets old
The Good: Incredibly fun traversal features like the wingsuit and grappling hook. Massive open world with collectibles spread all over. Destruction that never stops being satisfying. Beautiful Mediterranean-inspired setting. Tons of freedom to approach objectives however the player chooses. The Bad: Story is bland. Repetitive side activities (Trying to get that perfect score). Physics occasionally decide to become comedy instead of realism (Ramming into cars while in another car makes them fling up in the air & exploding).
Entertaining Gameplay
Just Cause 3 is absolute chaos in the best way. You're not here for a deep narrative, you are however, here to liberate islands by destroying Medici Military bases. As well as destroying gas containers or electric boxes in towns/cities to liberate them. Some places on the map are fairly easy to liberate, while heavily guarded ones with many enemies in them. The grappling hook, parachute, and wingsuit create one of the most enjoyable movement systems I've experienced in an open-world game. Traversing the map is so much fun that fast travel almost feels unnecessary. Gliding across the terrain with the wingsuit and grappling hook offers the player many beautiful sunsets or stary nights.
The Graphics & Atmosphere
The world is colorful, vibrant, and packed with gorgeous views. Flying across mountains before diving into a military base never gets old. Even years after release, the game still looks great. As I said previously, it makes the fast travel feature feel unnecessary.
Overall Thoughts
If you enjoy sandbox games that prioritize fun over realism, this is an easy recommendation. It embraces over-the-top action packed scenes and gives you endless ways to create your own ridiculous, and possibly funny moments.
