Just Cause 2 was one of my favourite games on the PlayStation 3, and I probably spent more time creating chaos than actually following the story. That was always the point of the game. Blow up military bases, steal every vehicle you can find, parachute across the map and cause as much destruction as possible. It never tried to be anything more than that, and I actually appreciate that the series has always stayed true to its identity instead of trying to copy every other open-world game on the market. Unfortunately, that same formula doesn't feel nearly as enjoyable today. After a while you're simply repeating the same activities over and over again. Destroy another base, collect more upgrades, move to the next location and do exactly the same thing again. Years ago I barely noticed it because I was having so much fun, but today the repetition becomes much more obvious and the game starts to lose its appeal. My biggest disappointment wasn't even the gameplay. I originally bought Just Cause 2 on Steam and played it without any problems, but after upgrading my PC the game simply refuses to launch. I reinstalled it, verified the game files and tried the usual fixes without any success. I can't say whether this affects everyone or if it's related to modern hardware, drivers or something else, but the reality is that I can't recommend buying a game that I can't even get running anymore. I still understand why Just Cause 2 was so well received when it launched because it offered a level of freedom that very few games had at the time. Looking at it today, however, the repetitive gameplay and the technical problems on PC make it difficult for me to recommend. If you're lucky enough to have no compatibility issues, you'll probably still have some fun causing chaos for a few hours, but I don't think it has aged well enough to justify recommending it in 2026. No pues está chido y ya
the game, for all its dated Criss Angel Mindfreak """Edge""", seems fully fine! no complaints for anything in the actual GAME ... even the ridiculous Indiana Jones Car Hijack minigame. I find it dated, corny, repetitive and charming. I kind of love it. however, the game crashes. and not every now and then - the game doesn't work. I'm actually not able to get through the first chase mission. I just """finished""" [see: "was straight booted from"] my third attempt at just that one long-assed mission (it crashed at the end of the opening mission, too). I disabled Decals, I turned off Bokeh, blah, blah, whatever. nada. even if it DID work, that's still not nearly good enough for a game that's still being sold for actual currency. 2 Dollars or not, the game's at least got to WORK. straight from sale and install. no required mods, no required settings. and this game doesn't. this isn't a problem that's going to be fixed, either. seems at this point the game's literally unplayable for me, so on that basis I unfortunately cannot recommend such a product, Mindfreak as it may seem. maybe I get it to work, probably I don't. how lame. (turns out the real Just Cause was the Criss Angel Mindfreaks we made along the way.) > : - ( !!!
Favorite childhood game on x360
I Like This Game A Lot.
cool game
Very nice game
missed this childhood game! so funny when NPCs speak my native language. i had a lot of fun completing all the achievements. kinda repetitive on map clearing though. but still recommended even for an old game.
1.1 hours on the counter. Looks like a game I hated. Reality: it's a game that worked so fast it basically fired itself. One hour in, hook onto a car, parachute out, tether a guard to a passing truck, watch the ragdoll physics do something no scripted cutscene ever could, and my brain went "yeah, I need more of this, but bigger." So I bought Just Cause 3 on the spot and gave that one the hours it deserved. Think of Just Cause 2 as the world's most effective free sample that I paid for. It didn't lose me. It graduated me. The DNA is all here, the grappling hook that turns physics into a toy, the explosions that are somehow the whole point, the sandbox that doesn't care what you do as long as you do it loudly. I left because the sequel does it louder, not because this one let me down. Buy it cheap. Spend a night causing problems. Worst case, you also walk out wanting the sequel. That's a win either way.
Boom! hehe
