Easy enough for a 70 year old, but fun enough for everyone.

Just Cause 2 was one of my favourite games on the PlayStation 3, and I probably spent more time creating chaos than actually following the story. That was always the point of the game. Blow up military bases, steal every vehicle you can find, parachute across the map and cause as much destruction as possible. It never tried to be anything more than that, and I actually appreciate that the series has always stayed true to its identity instead of trying to copy every other open-world game on the market. Unfortunately, that same formula doesn't feel nearly as enjoyable today. After a while you're simply repeating the same activities over and over again. Destroy another base, collect more upgrades, move to the next location and do exactly the same thing again. Years ago I barely noticed it because I was having so much fun, but today the repetition becomes much more obvious and the game starts to lose its appeal. My biggest disappointment wasn't even the gameplay. I originally bought Just Cause 2 on Steam and played it without any problems, but after upgrading my PC the game simply refuses to launch. I reinstalled it, verified the game files and tried the usual fixes without any success. I can't say whether this affects everyone or if it's related to modern hardware, drivers or something else, but the reality is that I can't recommend buying a game that I can't even get running anymore. I still understand why Just Cause 2 was so well received when it launched because it offered a level of freedom that very few games had at the time. Looking at it today, however, the repetitive gameplay and the technical problems on PC make it difficult for me to recommend. If you're lucky enough to have no compatibility issues, you'll probably still have some fun causing chaos for a few hours, but I don't think it has aged well enough to justify recommending it in 2026.
