JUST CAUSE 4 - HONEST REVIEW- coming from someone who has played through just cause 3 and 2 twice i wouldn't say that the game it bad , no , its amazing ! but not when compared to jc 3 the game offers a lot , even though things like no detonators , dual weapons and holding upto 3 weaopns thing weren't really there.. what i liked : -> the wingsuit felt SMOOTH ! dayum -> the biomes got peak design -> i found those little weather design pretty interesting -> this has better vehicle handling than jc 3 -> the gunplay is amazing -> FLYING FREAKING COWS ! WHO HATES FLYING COWS !?! absolute banger -> best f-ing around in all of just cause series -> the graphics and visuals were actually good what i didn't like :- apart from mentioned gameplay stuff , -> you do repetitive tasks to free a province , no more boom boom bam bam progression -> the hostage extraction missions are a bit boring -> the game crashes on the first launch and i have to open it again and it runs -> there are spike lags sometimes [ i was playing everything maxxed out , 70 fps overall , i noticed these spike lags even in low setting configs ] -> rico prolly has an identity crisis -> the nitro on the vehicles [ especially bikes ] sometimes bounce you off which is kinda goofy and fun but not on serious occasions SO, if this is your FIRST JUST CAUSE.. YOU ARE GONNA LOVE THIS ! ABSOLUTELY ! go for it ! its cheaper during sale ! and if you played jc 3 or any other jc ( other than 1 ) you'll immediately notice what i said but wouldnt hate it at all and is ABSOLUTELY WORTH YOUR TIME so I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS GAME TO EVERYONE..

They had the perfect game with Just Cause 3 to ruin it with allegedly innovative gameplay, story that I forgot entirely, "better" enemies that never mattered and conquering grounds which felt weird. Also the praised weather physics hardly mattered that I'd need to mind a tornado.
[DISCRETION!, scroll all the way bottom for TLDR unless you love hearing my complain. be entertained for what is worth] it's JC2 with a bit of JC3 minus JC3 and added with bugs and crashes for flavour (you actually need to restart your PC to have control again, force close does not work). Looks worst than JC3 somehow in quality, story writing is the same one you can find in disney movies maybe the biggest red flag was that they took 7 years to make this, 4 at most for any kind of game development but guess the last quality game was middle of 2010s, seriously there is barely any expression in the storytelling i cant tell if anyone is pissed or happy because all i saw was some pixelated faces ON THE HIGHEST GRAPHICS SETTING THE GAME ALLOWED, JC3 HAD MORE DETAIL AND FACIAL EXPRESSION THAN THIS, THE VOICE LINES SOUND SO FORCED JUST TO CONTINUE THE "plot" WHICH I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT WAS THE PLOT how did we went from high tech stuff from jc3 to some slap together 2000s technology and add some chrome paint to say its high tech? how did we went from casually letting the game world culture flow to looking like it was made by 16 year olds who didnt know what gaming is and only best experience of creativity was disney movie plots they watched when they were 9? just for comparison in just cause 3 when you start off it was a slow casual plane ride into medici, you even if you dont know just cause series other than cover page explosions will take it casual seeing it before it gives you a slow but learnable introduction, shoot with rpg, use parachute a bit but mostly grapple before you start to have your wingsuit in 5 minutes and free to do what you want in just cause 4 suddenly we are in a mountain wanting to do vengence for some reason (older players in jc2 maybe know why, i dont all i know was this merc group is very bad bad no good), from slap start you are forced into a locked in keybind to move before you could fire a gun not like jc3, grappling for some reason they needed to change it to be more complicated to use and less versatile (this part is much MUCH later) and you have to do this "please follow along and go here" mission for about 10 to 15 minutes before you are free to do as you please. NEED I REMIND YOU HERE! you can only clear the regions by.... G R I N D I N G destruction via any big red painted stuff. thats right... you FFFFFFFF... GRRRRIIIIND THIS SSSSHHH TO PROGRESS. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF JUST CAUSE NEEDING TO GRIND MY AAAAAA. ALL I DID WAS DESTROY BUT NO HERE I NEED MUNITION WORTH ALL 3 SUPERPOWERS TO GET ENOUGH TO "clear the region" OH THATS RIGHT I FORGET TO TELL YOU! REFILLING AMMO IS BY "per magazine worth" IF YOU HAVE THE SAME GUN, NOT THE WHOLE THING, YOU CANT MASS ORDER REFILL EITHER ITS LIKE THAT AMAZON PACKAGING OF PUTTING A SMALL THING IN A TV SIZE BOX. ANY VEHICLE WITH WEAPONRY HAS L I M I T E D AMMO WOW WOW I CANT DO MY AIRSTRIKES ANYMORE WITH THIS. IT WAS INFINITE FOR JC3 WHY IS THIS A ISSUE?!?!?! remember what you read before this long long paragraph? no? in jc3 you can do whatever you want after introduction 5 minutes even if you dont have your wingsuit and the mission doesnt need you to do a world tour. jc4 you only have it to go here, listen a bit, go there, pew pew here, hold this objective for like 3 minutes. ALL THAT to get out of a mountain, for you to do another go here, listen a bit go there, pew pew here. and then you get your wingsuit... and then you have no idea where you are and what you should be doing. let me tell you something interested reader of my complain... if you were a new guy who has zero idea about just cause series and heard that this is the latest one. you think you will enjoy it? you think this was the best just cause you ever had? i will tell you this. this was not even worth it for me, it was only made WORTH IF you bought the wingsuit jet system which is a worse copy of the bavarium wingsuit in jc3 and a mech which was copied from the prison island dlc as well, i had to pay 5 extra picomicos from a already heavily discounted base game from 7 dollars to pay a total of 12 micmillos, ONLY THEN it was barely fun. ...also if you are fast enough you can actually finish this from morning to before midnight because the actual story is very short, most of the time is getting enough to clear regions. i did in within a week instead... never in my just cause experience grinding was fun, the fun was suppose to be destroying areas of control, not unlocking it the too long didnt read part: TL:DR of my experience for loving JC. get JC3 if you want the last true JC, get JC4 if you just want some closure on what was the sequel and then memory wipe yourself after experiencing how bad it was... my brain is fried from writing... my curiousity of this "sequel" has been satisfied, i wish i didnt bought it. too late for refunds anyway... call this poorly reviewed if you want you will never experience what true just cause is until you play jc3 only redeeming thing is explosions looks good minus gas station, that got nerfed a lot ...also if you are wondering why i keep paragraphing because all you will see is a wall of text, this is still a wall of text but "readable ish"
not as bad as people say it is. i like it more then i do just cause 3, but its a shame you cant reactivate all of the tornados and sandstorms/ also i recommend getting the complete edition when its on sale
Played for over 2 hours, got bored with it, and stopped playing for a long time. Fast forward to now, I got back on because I saw Mercenaries gameplay, felt nostalgic, and wanted to play the closest thing I could get to a modern Mercenaries game. Get on the game only to find that my save file disappeared. Great stuff, guess I play something else because the clowns can't get a save system right.
Everything is worse than Just Cause 3. all the controls were changed for no reason to buttons that don't make any sense (for example who on earth thought using "1" as the inventory button was a good idea???), the graphics are worse, performance is terrible despite having good PC specs especially for an 8 year old game (stuttering, graphical inconsistencies, etc.), the UI is worse, etc. Not worth the money.
Very fun, don't even need friends to make it enjoyable, the campaign is also cool
I don't honestly care what anyone else says, I love this game and have recently been playing it loads trying to finish it and all of it's questionable dlc. The game is super fun and added lots of new features like the weather mechanics, unique guns that are sick, updated supply drops, cool new vehicles, new grapple features and many more that are epic and awesome. Don't listen to the people that can't appreciate a solid game for what it is. I loved just cause 3 and the sequel game is just as based. You just do anything in these games. Just cause you can.
As a fan of overall series it's sad to say that this part is so bad that I felt pain while was playing for this couple of hours. It's lagging when navigating in the menu, the new way of conquer the regions... the overall controls feeling is bad. For now I didn't find anything good about this game
Super fun sandbox, but don't get it if you are expecting a deep story or gameplay
