Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Aug 17 → 2.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
A note before the review: Anything review that says this game is "abandoned" is false, the game is RELEASED, the devs FINISHED the game, so they no longer update it. It's not abandoned because the game isn't still in early access and there are no more promised updates that were scraped. Anyway, the game is great. I will admit, every once in a while you will encounter a bug, but they arrent super common and usually are fixed by just saving and reloading. The scenery is nice and stylized, and the gameplay, while repetitive, is fun to come back to. While I still think the price is a little steep while off sale, it goes on sale for $2 or $3 multiple times a year, so if you aren't in the mood to pay $15, you can always wait a little and get it for less.
Beat this Game many years ago, it had bugs, but I could still easily progress... Years later I have been trying to do another playthrough, and 7 out of 10 attempts I get hard locked out of progression such as; - Border Control asking for Passport, taking it, then holding onto it and asking me again for my passport.. - Or cars being flipped on their roof completely blocking the road to progress [some you can smash through while damaging your car, others don't budge]. It's a shame, because this was a nice little Game that seems to have been neglected in the later stages of Development.

To start, I cannot, in good faith, recommend this game to anybody. The game feels painfully unfinished, and feels like it never quite left early access. There is an extreme lack of any real depth to the game. If you bring your uncle as a companion, there is a short, somewhat disconnected story that never reached it's conclusion. The developers will never fix the gaps in the world they seemed that they'd fill. Even so, I have played Jalopy at the time of this review for 64.7 hours. I have "beat" the game many times over. At a bare minimum, I start a new playthrough and max out my car with my favorite engine parts, decals, and paint once a year. The driving is bad—worse than you might think for a car like this. Driving up hills can slow you to the point of nearly stopping, acceleration feels as though you are moving through molasses, smd the car just tends to move terribly slow in all ways. Worst of all, if you aren't careful and flip the car, there's nothing you can do. You simply have to restart back to the last time you slept, which likely will be a very long way. What matters is that beneath all that, and inside of it as well, there's a strange quality to the game. The world is largely ugly and boring, the driving both somehow too responsive and not responsive enough, but the car feels emotionally, if not realistically how things are. This may not be how this car would really handle and move, but the game captures the feelings of it perfectly. The sunrise, in all its ten seconds of glory, is somehow one of the most beautiful sunrises I've ever seen in a game. It's not particularly well made, easy to miss, and you only get an actually good view of it once in the game. That's Jalopy. A game I have a hard time recommending, but I can't stop playing. Again, and again. Because there's some undefinable characteristic about it I cannot refuse, and maybe, just maybe, you'll find that too.
This game USED to be amazing. I remember playing it years ago for HOURS on end (different account don’t ask) But it just straight up doesn’t work now. It’s abandoned in every way except the dev putting it on sale.
- Invest all of my money into cigaret's - My fuel runs out - I push the car for the next 200km (like 15 minutes) - Finnaly arive in the city and scam people in the motel for money - Sleep in the motel - Finnaly buy some fuel and go thru the border with 40 illegal packs of cigaret's and sell them for half the price Best game i played in a long time
I really tried to enjoy this game.. but it's just not done yet, i've got no idea how this isn't in early access. I've experienced so many bugs from the short time i've played, none that are entirely game breaking, but they are VERY apparent. The sound design is pretty terrible, the engines sound like they're on a simple audio loop to the point that you start getting annoyed at the sounds of cars passing by yours. And the sound of your own car doesn't sound much better either, it sounds like you're driving a lawn mower. The music though, is pretty alright. A bit simple but i guess that's what they're going for. The roads were made by someone who's never driven a car before apparently. There's almost no directions or signs anywhere, and the fact that the game looks the same'ish everywhere you go doesn't help. The looks of the game are meant to be simple and kind of has it's own style but even with those standards it's lacking quite a lot, with 70% of it looking like those placeholder unity assets back in the day. (playing on max graphics btw) The controls are a little bit weird, the item/pickup system is very unintuitive. The steering is worse than what my lowest expectations were. The mechanical part of the game, i mean that literally, the engines and upgrades for you car and such seem pretty solid (even with various parts under the hood constantly needing repairing at an unreasonable rate). But the storing system is absolutely frustrating, you're expected to carry spare parts, repair kits, fuel and such but also pick junk up from the road to sell later, so you find yourself not being able to fit anything in the trunk, even though it clearly looks like there's space to put it in there, and even if there wasn't, a whole backseat and a passenger seat are being wasted because you can't drop stuff in there. I really tried to ignore all of those things and just keep playing but all it made me feel was that these trips were a big waste of time since a big part of the game is the travelling and everything in it makes you wanna get up from your pc and drive an actual car. Plus, i don't think they'll be updating the game often so i can't even say that there's potential. 4/10, can't recommend. Would walk instead.
