yes special note on the amazing soundtrack
IXION — 78.5 hrs Played on: Windows 11 Pro (26200) · 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K · 128 GB · NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 · NVMe SSD My time: 78.5 hrs Fun 6 · Skill Ceiling 7 · Onboarding Tax 8 · Jank Tax 6 · Dad Tax 5 The Verdict: 6/10 — "Wishlist it, wait for a sale." IXION sells you a dream in the first three hours: you're the Administrator of a lone space station, humanity's last roll of the dice, threading life support and morale and a genuinely gripping mystery about why Earth went dark. Then it hands you the actual game, which is a spreadsheet with a body count. 78.5 hours later I can tell you both halves are real. The narrative is the best reason to boot this up — it's paced like a good founder's-journal, tension ratcheting mission by mission, and for a stretch it made me forget I was running a resource-chain simulator instead of playing a story. Then the difficulty curve stops being a curve and turns into a wall, the kind where one bad decision three systems ago quietly kills your run an hour later and you don't find out until the morale meter implodes. This is not a forgiving game, and it does not explain itself as it stops being forgiving. I kept coming back anyway, which at my age is the only review score that matters — I have two kids and a company to run, and 78 hours is not a number I hand out to games I don't respect. But I'd be lying if I said the back half didn't feel like homework some nights. It wants an upper-mid-tier rig and your undivided attention, and on a work night I have neither in reserve. If you love a station-builder with real narrative stakes and you're willing to eat a few brutal, poorly-telegraphed setbacks for it, IXION delivers something most colony sims don't even attempt. If you're looking for something you can dip into for twenty minutes between meetings, this will eat you alive and enjoy it. 👍 — for sim veterans with a free evening and a tolerance for getting punished.
I absolutely love this game. I played the demo and instantly knew I had to own this game. I still go back to it every once in a while and jack up the difficulty, or put it on easy street for just a good play through.
Was fürn Quatsch is denn, dass das Schiff irreparabel kaputt geht?
really cool story but also quite buggy, this realy hurts the game if you want to set the difficulty up to be a challange. i have had buildings that cant be deleted, events that dont trigger, events that trigger after you move but kill the run before the destination is reached (4 cycles) and ships that get stuck forever takeing up a slot but.
Fun but frustrating. I recommend the soundtrack even if you don't buy the game and the visuals are great, but resource management is unintuitive and the story is both pretentious and full of holes. Thankfully the difficulty is very customizable. Anyone should be able to beat this if you turn things down enough. I would like to see, probably not a sequel, but a similar game that's longer with more polish.
Perfect game, astonishing ambiance overall.
