It's a typing game with a funny take about isekai. Gameplay-wise, I like that the difficulty increases as the levels go on not just via longer words but through the new enemies and bosses as well. There's an achievement where you have to play each levels 5 times, also so that you unlock the locked up cats, and while there's a chance for it to be repetitive, I was pleasantly surprised that the boss' dialog were different each time. It adds to their characters and you get to know a little bit about their motivation. Each run is slightly different depending on which path you choose, so if you're lucky, you can easily go through a level without fighting any enemies and go straight to the boss after simply opening treasures or harvesting catnips. While I didn't mind the 5x repetition each level, it did feel like a drag when we reach the ending, simply because the pacing as we meet the boss suddenly became so slow. The boss was also the only one in 3D-esque art style, completely different from the cutesy 2D style the rest of the characters have. I don't mind it, but it sure is funny. The final fight has some dialogs and while it does add to the dramatic ending a good rpg / story needs, after I experienced it once, that's enough. The 2nd time I played it, it felt like such a drag. I wish there's a skip cutscene. Thankfully, I unlocked all the captured cats after the 2nd run and I realized, I can simply lose my HP midway because the game considered me starting the level as 'entering the castle'. Thank goodness for that workaround. I like that I can get catnip from the rescued cats. I enjoy going around the kingdom(?) collecting 'Hero taxes' from them. It does max out on 9999 catnips, so be sure to use them on buildings before reaching the cap. Then, there's an achievement about using cheats..? How does one naturally find that? I had to consult discussion post to find it. So, I found this game during the typing fest and I tried the demo and I like it. The demo also mentioned that the save file is carried over to the full game if/when I buy it. So I bought it. I continued at level 2, but I didn't receive 'complete tutorial' achievement. No matter. I'll just finish the game and start a new game to get it. But it didn't work. While the game warn you that they'll overwrite the save file, I didn't get the 'tutorial' achievement, and I have unlocked all of the buildings and cats as if I'd finished the game. However, the playable levels were locked, just like it used to be when I started the game. I have no idea how to unlock it. I am simply stuck with an unobtainable last achievement, with levels that is now 'broken' so to speak (at the moment of writing this comment). I am not tech-savy enough to go through the files within the computer to wipe out the save files, and frankly, I don't care enough to do so. I've finished the game. I've 'unlocked' all achievement except one. I uninstalled the game. There really isn't any end-game to this typing game and I'm not really looking for it. It was a nice, short, experience. I enjoyed it, sad that there's some bug that prevents me from 100% the game, but is happy to move on nonetheless.
A cute little typing game that is surprisingly addictive. Can tell the developers put in a lot of passion into the game and love all the funny references to other isekai animes. Some of the words were just insanely long, and made me check if they were real (Spoiler: They are). Each stage add in new mechanics that switches up the gameplay and keeps it interesting. Think my typing skills improved after playing this.
I saw this game first time at a booth at Singapore Doujima Market. I found it interesting and buy it on steam immediately. The artwork was good. The music at the starting screen and in the cat town reminds me of those old school RPG or MMO games. This is a typing game with a standard save the world story. Some of the dialogues between the cat and the bossess are interesting. Starting of the game was easy enough. But it gets harder as you progress through the stages. The words become very long and my typing slows down a bit. Recommended to built up the cat town in order to improve your stats so that you will have an easy time going through the later stages. Overall, a good game. Support our local developer as this is their first game.
Tons of a fun with a cute cat in another world! Always had fun with typing games, this one had some really fun mechanics for enemies especially the last boss, which was properly stressful and really exciting! 100%'d the game, achievements were really fun to complete. The only exception was farming catnip since it had no tracker and even though I hit every clover node I still had to farm a lot after completing everything else; thought I was going insane! Holy crap. In school, my teachers sat us down infront some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ called MAVIS BEACON TEACHES TYPING or something like that. I never broke 25wpm on any honest tests. This kittycat's actually motivating me to learn how to type properly for the first time in my life. meow meow meow meow meow meow
I blew through the entire game and all its achievements in a weekend, just under 10 hours. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and am just sad there's not a bit more! I'm not going to talk about the 'plot', b/c it's just a silly exaggerated isekai trope to give all of us typing game nerds something fun to play, and I'm always down for that. The gameplay itself was straightforward and engaging, nothing groundbreaking in terms of mechanics but the difficulty gets progressively harder as you go on. I was able to get through the first 3/5ths of the game without a death. I was just starting to have some fumbles due to introduced complexities around that point and finally had my first death, which led to some more deaths, but in a way that I felt satisfyingly challenged by. It's simple but fun and effective and I had a good ride! There are some minor complaints that could be made, but I got what I wanted and expected from the game.
This game is super cute and a lot of fun to play in quick, short bursts. Very easy and casual. I like to play it anytime I switch out my keyboard or keycaps, just to test things out and hear the thocks, with a cute little kitty game.
I loved this game. First, I thought this would lambast the modern isekai but this is a legit story from the genre... it just has a cat as a main character, believe me, that makes the parody way more effective than I thought it would be. And on a final note for the story, I hope that the final scene was a sequel hook and not a final period because I will NOT accept that ending. The gameplay is very fun, at the beguining it was a total cakewalk though, I managed to get into the third to last dungeon without any upgrades but by that time the enemies were too tanky without upgrades so I decided to grind upgrades by that point but the final dungeon and the second to last boss are actually a challenge even with full upgrades. The upgrade system is attached to rescuing civillians and rebuilding the cat kingdom... wich is awesome, I LOVE seeing your homebase expanding on any game that does it. Also that is the part were this game kinda of outweeb me (only because I'm old, the references are for newish anime) because there are a LOT of references to different isekai anime, wish I could see the names of the civilians in more places besides the result screen when you save them... so I might actually place the references. Other than that, I usually just write a review if I've gotten all the achievements, there is a symbiotic pair of achievements because getting all the currency to fully rebuild the kingdom is kind of a grind and there is an achievement for that, and there is a cheat code to get infinite currency... you get an achievement for using said code, funny little things huh? Not upgrading helped me a lot because there is a cheevo for getting a combo of 100, this is great because you only lose the combo if you get hit, you can typo 5 times on a 4 letter word (you'll probably find way worse in this review I believe) and the combo will keep going, so the tanky enemies without upgrades on relatevely early dungeons got me that 100 combo painlessly and frankly, after upgrading I never managed a combo that high again. And the hardest achievement in this game... 60 points on practice mode, yeah that was an ordeal, very fun and that achievement is now my crown jewel, I can't give you much besides "get comfortable, lock in and never stop typing". All this talk about achivements I have to say that all the cheevos are anime references and that gave me a big cuckle.
Isekat is a very fun and addicting game. I can't recommend it enough. It's relaxing but also challenging. I think a good balance is struck with the two which just keeps you wanting more. Each world is so interesting, and the mechanics not to mention the memes and joke references here and there are so funny you can't believe it's actually in the game. I love it so much. Also don't worry if you've never played a typing game. The difficulty gradually increases and is most definitely doable! You improve your typing skills with the grind! The developers are lovely and are very responsive to feedback and bug fixing. You can really feel the love and effort they've poured into the game. I hope more people give this game a try. 10/10 Cats Get the game you won't regret it!!!
This is fun but also crazy! The art is beautiful, and the characters are very cool and pretty. I really enjoy the typing battles because they make me feel like I’m back in school, learning grammar and typing at the same time. The story is quite unique. We can also rebuild citizens’ houses and gain buffs from them, which is very helpful. The boss battles are INSANE. What do you mean I have to type “floccinaucinihilipilification” in the FINAL BOSS BATTLE? Also during the last stage (Stage 7)? There are A LOT of science-related words. The boss fights keep getting crazier and crazier (one of them even gives you an ultimate attack if you mistype a word), but it’s VERY fun for me! Unfortunately, you can’t change the game’s graphics quality in the settings, so you’re stuck playing with only one quality option. Overall, it's fun and crazy as well!
