Really fun logic-puzzle styled roguelite card battler with permanent progression upgrades is the simplest way to describe it. The logic and puzzles part of the card battling is the fact that your enemies shuffle or scroll in one after another similar to a match 3 grid. You get permanent upgrades called memories along with additional slots to hold more memories. The story is aight. There are some relatable moments and I am sure some people feel just like the character but it is nothing that made me cry. I think those people are being overdramatic.
冷知识:目前巨人的帮助有bug,在玩家死后巨人将会踩踏所有玩家面前的小怪,踩踏后如果此时玩家面前有楼梯,玩家可以直接按楼梯到达下一层
Is a cute lil game with a very dark story, I only have 3 hours so far but the game seems to run well and I do enjoy playing my rounds till I die then I let it sit till next time.
This is such a fun little game with such a sad and relatable story. Every run feels like you can push a little more next time, and the challenges are rewarding. I like when bosses make you think! You don't get that as much as you used to. Fully recommend.
I'm not the biggest fan of deck builders, but I really liked this one. I really liked the idea of the cards representing the highs and lows of mental health, the depression, and intrusive thoughts. I liked the story unfolding as we play and more and more details coming together as we finally make Iris whole. I played this a while ago and forgot to review it, but I'd say this is an easy recommendation. I like the basic art style, and the music was good, and I liked the story concept of overcoming your demons in a novel way. And I probably came back to review it as our current world has a lot more inner demons speaking to us, and outer demons speaking to us... and an oddly calming game about demons and mental suffering feels like a good thing to play since, in the end it's about overcoming that. Nobody can help Iris except Iris.. and us. I guess the lesson is that getting help is sometimes a really important idea.
This is definitely not the game for me, I really dislike this sort of narrative heavy approach - sorry but I just don't care for your character. I also dislike turn based combat, it's the lowest form of game system, imo. Yet this game, has a very addictive loop. I dislike it, but I have to accept that even though I play it through gritted teeth, I keep coming back to it, for now at least. It also feels totally random, I get that you are meant to build your hand, and use the rogue like character buffs to progress, but it doesn't feel flexible enough to me to feel like that actually matters. So, yeah, this is a "yes" but only because I really dislike the game (because of it's genre and storytelling) yet find the gameplay loop surprisingly compelling.
It's a cute game with a nice story. The art style is nice and simple, with basic music which is fine. One thing I want to mention is that the voice actress that does Iris is very good, I liked it a lot. The story was good, and I think a bit universal, I liked it. The gameplay was tough, but eventually you'll be able to get through to finally meet the giant. I liked all the different cards it had, a good variety and even one you can only get in the last few stages I think, which was a surprise. (Especially since I hadn't gotten it the first time I had reached it which resulted in my loss, but oh well) You can also find bonuses, like memories or completing imaginary friends challenges (once you find them) to unlock having them potentially power you up, it's nice. I also like that you can unlock a whole other map? I guess I'll call it, after you beat the game, adding to the game. For the bad, it's buggy. For one, if you play in Linux and decide to Shift+Tab to the steam overlay or take a screenshot, the game immediately freezes in whatever screen it was at, you can still move around as sounds play, which means there's just this full screen visual freeze and it forces you to restart the whole game. Another which I'm not sure is Linux only is that it once had two sets of things to choose from as another visual glitch, as in I started a new run, opened a chest, and there was a row of like cards all the way across, with the REAL cards that you can actually choose behind it, it ONLY appeared if you opened a chest, or the menu or got a power up, the choices were different every time but I think it was always only cards, once again, only fix was to restart. The last bug that I can currently remember is the
Chest boss in the later stage, where you need the enemies to damage it
, at a point in the battle the boss straight up just vanished, causing me to be stuck in that stage since defeating it was the only way to get an exit. Overall, it's a nice game with a cute art style and a nice story that's on the tougher side to beat, though keep in mind if you play on Linux that it does have bugs.
