Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 19 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

El juego es entretenido pero cuesta aprender de inicio y las rebeliones son un caos
This game exposes Paradox like none of the other games they have released. The best thing about imperator is the trade system that is easy to understand and still provides for an enjoyable & in-depth gameplay no matter if you play as a small city state or a vast empire. Why do I not recommend the game then? Because most of the game mechanics are not finished, and even a mod that has done a very good job at improving on the game, which the developers/publisher could not be asked to do in the first place, can save it sadly. I suspect this game has not been abandoned because of poor reception but because they found it incredibly hard to milk this game for more DLC, not that they did not try. Whilst in their other installments, they can charge 20-30 bucks for a DLC that does less than most mods, that is incredibly difficult for imperator and thus they dropped support. This game was frustrating beyond belief, because you spend hours only to encounter yet another development oversight that will drive you mad. Like all of Paradox games, they exist because of a lack alternatives, not because it is a well crafted gaming experience. I want to like it, but after nearly breaking my hand after encountering the 100th game breaking bug I just uninstalled and finally gave up on it.

As many have said before me - It is indeed a vastly underrated game (only played it with the Invictus mod tho, can´t talk about vanilla). If you like paradox grand strategy games & the time period you should give it a shot for sure!
The game is good. It is definitely a good game but I have been playing EU4 lately and the immersion on EU4 is just so much better and the interface features are better on EU4. There are some annoying interface choices on I:R like not being able to search for characters. Also the gameplay gets quite repetitive and I was also really hoping the game would go on to the later Imperial period but it stops.
Its actually a great strategy game. The modding scene is still alive, I recommend playing the game with Invictus. Its basically a mod that has been maintaining the game in general. Adds tons of free content and gives it that oompf. The game itself is a hybrid of eu4 and ck3 if you want to put names to it. In reality it does a bit of character development because your leaders and family members are the ones filling up your government positions. But its not like you controll just one character or one family. You still are the spirit of a nation (like in eu4). For people who love antiquity this is honestly a great game. There is plenty of unique nations to play, and multiple governtment forms to try out. Each plays a bit different from the last. You can play tall and wide. Warfare is deeper than ck3 but you wont really notice it since there are simply optimal choices to make instead of actual choices for formations and troops compositions. All in all worth it, if not for vanilla then for the mods.
better than EU4, stellaris and vic 3
Stuff just happens without explanation, the UI is atrocious, and the game just feels incredibly annoying to play. Actions and other menus are hidden behind tiny icons that make no sense and give barely any information on what they do.
