Not only this this game extremely grindy for an idler, but the grind itself is rather unsatisfying. Grind for days, do a prestige, and basically get barely anything for all the effort. The entire concept behind this game's progression needs to be entirely rethought.
Update: Lag issues have been fixed. It's a wonderful game that can be played as a true idler, or you can play actively and click up a million buttons as soon as you have enough resources. Tons of depth with prestiges across a dozen classes. Still exploring new content after 100+ hours. It looks like a game I would like to invest in. But it has massive technical problems that make it unplayable. It freezes for ~30 secs regularly while it performs some calculation, and then it crashes altogether pretty often. There are also smaller lags that are nearly constant. Note: Most of my play time was the game being frozen in the background.

This game is great. It's a slow burn idle game, with a developer who loves their creation and keeps working on it bit by bit. It'll start out slow--very--but the progress RAMPS UP in a run, leading to a very satisfying feeling. Different jobs give you different prestige bonuses, and these let you progress further and more rapidly. Some jobs are harder than others, and some also give you new ship types for your fleet. Unlike a lot of idle games on Steam, there's absolutely no predatory microtransactions, DLC that give you p2w bonuses, or anything of the sort. Just pure idle. It may not be free, but it's cheap and will keep an idle enthusiast busy for a while, without being overly demanding that you constantly watch it after setting up a run--just check in occasionally and spend your resources (of course you CAN speed it up by spending them smartly right as you get them, but it's not necessary).
You can tell the Dev cares about providing a full experience without microtransactions. They also give credit where credit is due. These things have earned my respect. The game is a fun 2nd monitor game. Wait for resource to collect, spend them to progress, repeat. You can let your ships farm resources through auto-battle or you can play a mildly active role using abilities to push higher zones. There is depth and strategy in how you spend resources and on what. Nothing is punishing and you're always progressing in some capacity. It might take a few minutes to get familiar with where each type of resource comes from and which upgrades to prioritize but that's part of the fun. There is a prestige system but I haven't explored it yet. The tutorial is thankfully not annoying and provides a good framework for how to play. All-in-all it's higher quality than many of the heavy MTX casual games these days and I'll probably play it a while longer.
not an idle game, though there is an automatic progression option, its worthless for 2 reasons. 1: it dosent actively place you into the most effecient level, only when you hit the button at which point you just sit there depsite your exp multiplier vastly increasing damage after about an hour. 2: after about level 500 or so, the button no longer works because you have so many ships firing so many shots that the game lags massively when you press a button, and it seems to just ignore the auto movement option, meaning eventually its going to take 15 seconds per floor to progress no matter what, because every floor has a 15 second cooldown before you can start the next. prestiging has little to no purpose because the skills you get from prestige points provide virtually nothing. most of the extra jobs are pure trash. and if you look on the forums youll see that every question has been "answered" by the developer. unfortunately, thats by HIS doing, not the people who started the threads. he makes one comment, selects it as the answer to the question, and pretty much ignores any and all criticsm. free, this would be okay. but even at $1 youre getting ripped off, paying for a VERY barebones excuse for a web game.
It's a fun idle game where you can also step in active play to defeat waves that would not be possible on idle mode and it has many ships and careers that offer various bonuses that you keep while prestiging. you get to choose the upgrades for each job you get after gaining enough job points and there are many ways to spend the points on various bonuses and whatnot. including start resources, start buildings, resource % gain, own ships strength bonus, enemy ships debuff, damage taken reduction, damage dealt increase. there are many different bonuses like that and most of them are unique to that job. like offensive ship damage bonus, defensive enemy ship mark reduce, start farm, start metal processing, and a lot more. the main thing in fighting enemy ships with your own is that you need to have a lot more ships than your enemy later on because the enemy ships are overwhelmingly stronger due to much higher marks(marks are something like strength level that affects all around strength of each ship including damage, hull, shield). in short it is a very fun idle game with a lot of room to grow your strength in the future so it won't easily be like your reach max level and done in a few days.
This game is genuinely fun. Its an idle game like cookie clicker, but the twist is combat rather than cookies. You invest your resources (of which there are like... a dozen different ones), into different ships or upgrades for your ships. It does have a mobile like design, but that doesnt detract from the game-play and it actually makes it easier to navigate. From upgrading land to have more ships, to upgrading the ship itself to be a higher mark, to upgrading all of your ships attack rate or range, this game is exactly what it claims to be. It is still receiving updates a few years after launch, and I see no reason why someone shouldnt throw 4 dollars at this game. Skips your daily coffee, get Idle Armada.
1/8/23: coming along nicely, not quite a full experience yet, the remake is a huge improvement over the original release version, but is still pretty skinny on content.
This game deserves a lot of love and support for being one of the only good idle games out there. There's nothing offputting about the game. It's an honest grind with no shortcuts (Unless you count your intelligence/decision making!) This game is currently undergoing a bit of a remake (Both versions are available in the Beta tab.) Look at my hours.. This game is so easy to just chill and play. I wholeheartedly recommend this game/
One of my favorite incrementals. I've played it a lot on mobile even though I don't like mobile games, and recently decided to buy on PC, too. I love that it doesn't try to get you with in-app purchases but most of all I enjoy the tons of long-term value in the form of lots and lots of upgrades and unlocks to work towards. Genuinely the best incremental around, in my view.
