Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Jul 23 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
ICBM: Escalation is a grand RTS game that plunges players into the high-stakes world of global warfare, where every decision could tip the balance between survival and annihilation. Command vast armies, develop cutting-edge technology, and wield the most devastating weapons ever created to ensure your faction’s supremacy. Whether by conventional forces or through nuclear firepower, you’ll need to conquer or obliterate your enemies to secure dominance in a volatile global arena.
Take charge of a continent-spanning faction and build up an unstoppable military force. Construct a nuclear stockpile, research groundbreaking tech, and deploy a combination of nuclear submarines, strategic bombers, and intercontinental ballistic missiles to cripple your adversaries. But nuclear warfare is not the only path to victory. ICBM: Escalation introduces new victory conditions that emphasize conventional warfare, allowing players to invade enemy territory, weaken their resources, and force their surrender through tactical superiority. The two new modes, Standoff and Conquest, add fresh layers of strategy and pacing compared to the high-speed Blitz Mode, which returns as the most similar mode to the original ICBM.
Progress through multiple technological eras, from early Cold War advancements to near-future innovations, including stealth warships and space-based weapon systems. The revamped diplomacy system adds new layers of intrigue, allowing players to form research agreements, negotiate ceasefires, and broker deals over captured territories. World-spanning diplomatic measures, such as international treaties banning specific weapons, offer fresh strategic possibilities that can reshape the course of global conflict.
ICBM: Escalation offers a variety of modes that cater to different playstyles. Standoff mode delivers a balanced escalation from conventional skirmishes to full-scale nuclear war, while Conquest mode emphasizes long-term strategy, brinkmanship, and tactical mastery. For players seeking faster-paced action, Blitz Mode focuses on direct, rapid nuclear confrontation, staying true to the spirit of its predecessor. The game also features a rich single-player campaign that spans decades of history, beginning with the Korean War and leading into speculative future scenarios where your decisions shape the outcome of global conflict. In multiplayer, face off against up to 10 players, competing for dominance in a highly competitive environment with rankings and ELO systems.

thought id try this out, I then looked at the time and it was 4am, i have no idea what's going on but I'm having a great time.
An awesome grand scale RTS about modern warfare (the best one of its kind that I have played). Even though nuclear weapons are clearly the main feature and selling point of this game (which is expected considering the title and promotional material), i believe that conventional war is also well explored and while obviously a lot more time consuming and tedious than total nuclear annihilation, it feels extremely rewarding and overall fun to play. When it comes to the negatives, the game does have some performance issues (which arent gamebreaking but since the recent update random fps drops seem to happen more often) and I also wish that the faction limit was increased (while I dont want ICBM: Escalation to become a HOI4 clone, just 10 factions for the whole world map feels a bit underwhelming). Although I got this game on sale, I think its also worth the full price - for me its a very refreshing experience considering the fact that RTS market is painfully oversaturated with WW2 games. ON THE TOPIC OF RECENT NEGATIVE REVIEWS! I kinda dont understand this situation and dont think the hate is deserved. From what i saw online, it all started with one person having severe stability issues and blaming it on the DRM system (which as the dev states wasnt introduced or fundementally changed in the recent update). Furthermore, in the same thread the dev managed to confirm that the issues this person was having were not connected in any way to the DRM but instead most likely to multiple conflicting mods. For some reason the person couldnt accept it and a bunch of other people hopped on the bandwagon. I can confirm that i personaly havent had any issues with the DRM system so far (both in online and offline modes) and occassional lag spikes and fps drops were a thing even before the recent update.

Excellent game, Having lots of fun with it since I got it. So much more varied than previous titles because its a full strategic simulator now, but its still arcadey enough to just be fun. Its not extremely sweaty like Paradox games(Which Ive owned almost all and have about 4k hours in across titles).
it would be better if there was an option for an alliance-wide orgy in the diplomacy tab
The only RTS I have ever enjoyed. With its slower pace and far greater focus on strategy and diplomacy than any of its competitors, plus a healthy dose of novel and interesting mechanics (e.g. war plans and the Geneva Convention), this is a game I love both in singleplayer and its active multiplayer community run through the official Discord.
This game fills a niche in strategy games that I've always craved, a cold war/modern era global conflict that doesn't avoid or reduce the dangers of nuclear weapons. Conventional warfare is still a thing and to some degree required but nukes are a tool to aid in your conflicts that gradually enforces a global escalation that can feel almost too real. the actual gameplay is pretty good, I think there is a healthy amount of depth and a lot of micromanaging as well as tools that make said micromanaging easier. the tech trees are expansive and designed in a way that everyone tends to have in edge and weakness with specific techs depending on what you focus on and what strategies you are trying to employ. Definitely the best cold war/modern day strategy game I've found, would recommend.
cool idea. ai and the bots dont work that great when it comes to mission planning. half the time they stop attacking in the middle of a war every start is the same, you spend the first 20-40 min struggling to fight off a land invasion by an opponent who has 10x your tanks somehow. also super fun if you make it though the land invasion and get to the point where you can spend 10 min building an airbase to have it nuked before your first plane gets in the air because the AI-bots have map hack. there is almost zero resources about unit stats and how the mechanics work. ive spent alot of time with it and i find it more frustrating then 'fun'.
This is a pretty fun and addicting game. It's reasonably easy to learn and makes for a pretty good sandbox experience.
Game would be even greater, if devs can fix the annoying UI bugs.
I wish I could leave a neutral review I get why so many people like the AI rework, but I wish there was a setting for less... invasion-happy AI, similar to how they used to be where they preferred airstrikes and long-range bombing, because that's why I initially bought the game. if that gets added (or hell, even an option to revert the AI rework) then I will happily change this back to a positive review
