Incredibly solid game with mind melting visuals, Gameplay is surprisngly satisfying yet simple with standard first person party based rpg combat. Overworld movment takes soem getting used to but when it clicks, it becomes a pretty smooth world to traverse. Only negatives bits are low replay value and clanky controls. Absolutely reccomend this game to anyone yearning for something fresh and uniqe amongst a sea of copy-cat rpgs. 9.5/10 (P.S. The Sage Labyrinth is hard as ♥♥♥♥)

A game that knows its own identity and owns it whole-heartedly. Stunning, head-spinning visuals. Challenging combat that rewards you for exploring and putting in the effort to understand the mechanics. Not to mention, you got the coolest crew for company while exploring a foreign land. And I HAVE to mention, the sickest soundtrack I've heard in YEARS. (If all of this doesn't convince you, I LOATHE platforming but I still finished the game.)

Hylics 2
Im probably a lunatic, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this is a pretty good game
while the combat is fairly simplistic to the detriment of my enjoyment of this audiovisual stimulating toy, its flowery prose full of personality (what little there is to speak of, anyway), the surreal environments that the protagonist party submerges into, as well as the addition of overworld platforming and ocassional gameplay changes through 2d platforming and dungeon crawling sections, all accompanied by one of the most recognizable and unique soundtracks in RPGs, all form a unique combination that results in an exceptional little game that I strongly recommend to basically anyone who likes unique games. while I'm not the hugest Hylics fan out there, I cannot look at others in the eye and say this game is anywhere close to bad just because the combat is simplistic and rather boring (and also gets really easy after a point), but it is the weakest part of an otherwise good and unique game and warrants mentioning. also Fancy Meat Computer is one of the best final boss songs ever put into a videogame, Chuck Salamone is a powerful man who doubtlessly bathed in the terrestrial Juice
