A decent game, but there are plenty much better. Pros: Story: The game story is overall good. Mechanics: The game mechanic is not bad. Cons: The Start: The start is a total mess. Console Focus: It is visible that the game was created for PS players, featuring a lot of cutscenes. PC Aiming: If you disable auto-aim on PC (which I require), it is super hard to land headshots. Awful Controls: Who even thought it was a good idea to set the "dodge roll" by default to a double tap on W, S, A, D? Verdict: It's not a bad game at all, but there are still plenty of much better options out there.

Плюсы: Графика и текстуры в ремастере заметно подтянуты по сравнению с оригиналом. Отличная оптимизация для современного ПК (после опыта на PS4 с ее ~23 FPS — небо и земля). Полная поддержка DualSense с отличным тактильным откликом. Затягивающий сюжет с цепляющими моментами. Синхронизация ачивок с PS Network. Минусы: Небольшой гринд ресурсов с роботов для апгрейда снаряжения. Итог: Начинал ещё на PS4, но бросил из-за просадок кадровой частоты. В ремастере на ПК с геймпадом прошел с большим удовольствием. Игра затягивает!

Excellent story and gameplay, remastered graphics are fantastic. I would definitely recommend playing it with a DualSense controller, since it's perfectly optimized for that.

**Horizon Zero Dawn — One of my favourite science-fiction worlds in gaming** Horizon Zero Dawn is one of those games that stayed with me long after I finished it. Even after playing many other open-world games, there is something about its world, its atmosphere and especially its story that still makes it very special to me. It is easily one of my favourite games. At first, the concept itself already feels fascinating: humanity has returned to a tribal way of life while enormous machines resembling animals and dinosaurs roam through the wilderness. But what initially looks like an unusual mixture of prehistoric culture and futuristic technology gradually becomes something much deeper. For me, the greatest strength of Horizon Zero Dawn is discovering what happened to the old world. Exploring ruins, finding recordings, reading messages and slowly reconstructing the events that led to the extinction of our civilisation was one of the most interesting science-fiction stories I have experienced in a video game. The story of Project Zero Dawn, Ted Faro, Elisabet Sobeck and GAIA completely changed the way I understood the world I had been exploring for dozens of hours. The game does an excellent job of creating mystery. At the beginning you know almost nothing, just like Aloy, and every discovery makes you want to know more. Aloy herself is another reason why I love the game. She begins as an outsider trying to understand where she came from, but her journey eventually becomes something much bigger. I really enjoyed watching her develop from someone searching for answers about herself into someone capable of understanding the enormous responsibility left behind by the people of the old world. The machine design is also fantastic. Fighting a Thunderjaw, Stormbird or Deathbringer never feels like fighting a generic enemy. Learning their weaknesses, removing components, placing traps and choosing the right ammunition gives the combat a tactical element that I really enjoy. And visually, the world is beautiful. Forests, deserts, snowy mountains, ancient ruins and abandoned cities create a constant contrast between nature and the remains of a technologically advanced civilisation. Seeing enormous machines moving through these landscapes is still incredibly impressive. The soundtrack also deserves special mention. Tracks associated with Aloy and the world of Horizon give many moments an almost melancholic feeling that fits the story perfectly. Of course, some aspects of the open world follow the traditional formula of its generation, and some secondary activities are less memorable than the main story. But for me those weaknesses are very small compared with everything the game does well. What makes Horizon Zero Dawn special is not simply its combat or its graphics. It is the mystery behind its world. Discovering how humanity disappeared, why the machines exist and what Zero Dawn really was remains one of my favourite narrative experiences in gaming. A fantastic science-fiction adventure and one of the games I will always remember. **9.5/10**
