Linux - Ran out of the box for me using Proton. Steam Controller - worked perfectly without any configuration. 1440p monitor - scaled without any problems. Remote Play Together - Not totally intuitive but when you get it working, the limits are your connections and machines. Don't let the name and pooping cow put you off, it is mechanically a good game, the art is clean, it is a laugh playing it with someone else and reviving / helping or getting your friend killed.
A cheeky dash game that doesn't take itself too seriously! You control a cow that needs to eat grass to produce milk and then run back to the truck to get milked by a machine. Everything is on a time limit so you had better move fast. The goal is to reach at least the bronze objective to successfully complete a level, but you’re eventually forced to go for silver or gold. The reason for this is that there are roadblocks every five stages that require a certain number of medals. The grass quality affects how fast you’ll get full. The best one that fills you up in seconds is usually locked behind closed fence. Grass also fills up your poop meter, slowing you down. Because it fills up at the same rate as your milk meter, you have to relieve yourself virtually constantly. Poop is both helpful and annoying. Because your cow can't walk over it, you can find yourself surrounded by so much poop that you can't move. Fortunately, it can be destroyed by enemies or their projectiles. Stopping you from eating that sweet grass are various enemies that come in waves. It's worth noting that each of the four worlds has its own set of opponents. Some are more dangerous than others. On one side you have deadly knife-throwing butchers and hunters that just want to kill you, and on the other you have sharks and bulls that just want to make some sweet love. This second group is harmless and only stops your cow from moving for a few seconds. Most of the time you just need to avoid them as best as you can, but sometimes you get a powerup that lets you take them out. Grab a chili pepper and fart fire in their face or place a bear trap. The reward for completing a stage is a new piece of gear that can be placed on your cow. It can be customized from head to tail. Give your cow a bright color, put a radio on its back, place sneakers on its feet and go crazy. Because there are four worlds each with 30 stages, the game will take a long time to complete. To keep the game from becoming too repetitive, later stages add some extra objectives such as killing a certain number of foes or picking up a certain amount of objects. You can ignore them. If that’s not enough, you can test your skills in Championship where you compete against other players or bots. There’s also a level editor. Overall, the game’s more on the casual side but still a nice time-waster. Getting gold isn’t that hard and you can easily finish a few levels during your lunch break.
I bought it when it came out and left it half abandoned, now I decided to play it again and there were many things that I missed, such as the utility of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, or using skills like farting, so in this second gameplay I configured the buttons properly and I think now I get to appreciate the game a little more, which by the way gets quite difficult. I recommend it especially when it's on sale. Still couldn't play it in Co op but I guess it will be much more funny. Here is a video with a few minutes of gameplay. https://youtu.be/QMUAeAzszDQ

HOLY COW! Milking Simulator, developed and published by Space Boat Studios, is a chaotic and wildly imaginative arcade experience that turns the humble act of milking into a full-blown survival spectacle. The premise alone sets the tone for the madness that follows: you take control of a cow whose life revolves around eating grass, producing milk, and staying alive in a world filled with danger, absurdity, and dark humor. What could have been a simple simulation quickly spirals into an unpredictable adventure packed with exploding obstacles, mechanical threats, and surreal settings that push the concept far beyond anything resembling normal farm life. It is equal parts parody, action game, and fever dream, a perfect storm of eccentricity that keeps you constantly on edge. The main goal of the game is deceptively simple—graze on the lush patches of grass scattered throughout each map, fill up your milk supply, and survive long enough to complete the level. The catch is that you are far from alone in these fields. Lawn mowers whir across your path, knives rain from the sky, sharks emerge from impossible places, and hazards pile up in increasingly absurd combinations. Each stage throws something new and dangerous at you, transforming the once peaceful act of grazing into a frantic dash for survival. Timing, positioning, and quick reactions become essential, and the chaos only amplifies as you progress. While the controls are straightforward, the action can quickly feel overwhelming, turning even the most innocent level into a frantic, borderline slapstick battle for your bovine life. Adding to the mayhem is a generous dose of variety and customization. The game doesn’t settle for a single environment or predictable formula—instead, it takes you from grassy pastures to the bottom of the ocean and even the insides of a whale. Each new setting brings fresh hazards and new mechanics that force you to adapt your approach. You can outfit your cow with accessories such as boots, horns, or silly costumes that slightly alter gameplay attributes like movement speed or durability. There are also bizarre power-ups tied to what you eat; consuming certain plants might enhance your abilities, while others lead to strange or comical effects. It’s a system that thrives on unpredictability, where discovery and experimentation keep the experience entertaining even when frustration sets in. Visually, HOLY COW! Milking Simulator embraces a bright, cartoon-inspired style that perfectly matches its eccentric tone. The environments are bold and colorful, with exaggerated character designs and over-the-top animations that add to the game’s surreal humor. The visual chaos can be overwhelming at times, but it’s deliberate—this is a world where absurdity rules, and clarity often gives way to visual comedy. The sound design reinforces the same philosophy, with energetic background music and ridiculous sound effects accompanying every explosion, moo, and close call. The atmosphere never takes itself seriously, and the developers clearly designed every detail with the intention of keeping players both amused and slightly bewildered. Despite its humor, the game’s challenge can be surprisingly intense. Each level tests your reflexes, pushing you to multitask between dodging hazards, managing your milk output, and avoiding a quick and messy end. The difficulty spikes sharply as the game progresses, and while that keeps the experience exciting, it can also lead to moments of frustration. Some hazards feel unpredictable or unfair, and the margin for error becomes razor thin during later stages. However, the absurd tone helps take the edge off these moments—failure feels more like part of the comedy than a punishment. The game’s unpredictability, while occasionally infuriating, is also one of its most distinctive qualities. Where HOLY COW! Milking Simulator truly stands out is in its unapologetic embrace of ridiculousness. It doesn’t try to be elegant or refined; instead, it thrives on chaos, randomness, and humor. Each stage feels like a new experiment in nonsense, and the sheer variety of scenarios ensures that boredom rarely has a chance to settle in. The blend of arcade action, survival mechanics, and slapstick absurdity makes it one of those games that’s as much fun to watch as it is to play. It’s a rare example of an indie title that understands its limitations and uses them to amplify its personality rather than hide them. Still, it’s not a game for everyone. The frantic pace and intentionally silly tone might alienate players looking for a more polished or strategic experience. There’s little long-term depth beyond chasing higher scores and experimenting with different setups, and the humor—often juvenile and deliberately outrageous—won’t appeal to every taste. Yet for those who can appreciate its eccentric charm, the game offers an oddly satisfying form of chaos. It’s a game that feels proudly unhinged, driven by a kind of creative freedom that most mainstream titles would never dare attempt. In the end, HOLY COW! Milking Simulator is less a traditional game and more a celebration of absurdity. It takes a mundane task, explodes it into a spectacle of danger and laughter, and invites players to revel in the madness. Beneath its simple mechanics lies a genuine sense of playfulness and creativity, a reminder that games can still surprise you simply by refusing to make sense. For anyone seeking an offbeat, chaotic, and hilariously weird experience, this bizarre bovine odyssey delivers exactly what its title promises—and then some. Rating: 6/10
