I wanted to give this a positive recommendation but in the end its too glitchy and clunky. Even from the start, at least on the Index you got a "the action manifest for holy chick! was not found" message, that you can fix by going to: \steamapps\common\HolyChick\ Creating \WindowsNoEditor folder Then copy the \EscapeRoom folder into it so the final path is \steamapps\common\HolyChick\WindowsNoEditor\EscapeRoom I dont know why this happens only to this game... Anyways after making the game work: The initial room in the trailer made me think this would be a hidden gem, because its so interactive and funny. But even then it has some issues, and while fun to see how you can mess with the environment... there is actually only 1 story puzzle you need to solve is very straightforward, get the code and go to the next room. And the next rooms are not like the initial one, they are empty, and way larger. The game gives very faint clues and the map being bigger makes it tedious exploring trying to figure out what to do. Like it tells you that gun+vacuum equals vacuumgun right? well i found both ("visibly hidden" in the map, as in they are not hard to find, but are like randomly dropped, i expected to find the gun in a weapon locker and the vaccum in a mantinence closet (and having to solve puzzles to get into both of them), but they are just laying around. After i got them, i crashed them together, but they didnt magically merge... there is a suspicious machine in the center room that might be needed... but it doesnt work the lever doesnt move the containers dont open... Am i doing something wrong, is the game bugged? who knows?? But if i drop the items they return to their original location and i have to go back and pick them up again. After running around for over 20min trying everything i could think of to get the vacumgun and not being able to do it, i decided to quit the game. Seems to me that this part should have been pretty straight forward, but either the game bugged out, or there is something i have to do that i missed. By the end, I got to solve 3 puzzles, and aside from the "get the code" the other 2 where more like when indiana jones shoots at the badguy instead of going through the whole battle.... you know? they where fun to figure out under pressure, but wont be any replayeability. The smoothlocomotion is janky and slow even at its fastest, and teleport only lets you hop like 2 steps ahead. This added to the bigger rooms and running around having no idea what is interacteable, what isnt, and what interacteable thing actually is needed... and that some items return to their original location, really didnt make me want to find out what im missing. The concept and graphics are pretty good, i mean, gigiant murderous chickens!.... but this needs to be polished before i could recommend it. Will definitively check it out again after a few updates because i can see the potential.
Holy Chick! von Iron VR ist ein durchgeknallter Escaperoomtitel. Heiliges Huhn, was ist denn hier passiert? 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
English: --------------------------------------------------> Holy Chick! by Iron VR is a wacky escaperoom title. Holy chick, what happened here? We're standing in a caravan, that's not unusual, you think. But if we look out of the window, some things are no longer ordinary. There are huge chickens running around outside, or have we and our caravan suddenly shrunk to the size of ants? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2485909435 As humorous as this little game starts out with nice voice-overs and atmospheric music, it is unfortunately also glitchy. Objects slip through walls or suddenly disappear from your hand. By the way, you only have hands as an index user if you create a folder called WindowsNoEditor in the game directory and then copy the Escaperoom folder into it. Then it works. Unfortunately, this bug has not been fixed since the game was released! In addition, Holy Chik! is also very short. It's informative in a short review, because the idea is good and this is the studio's first game. Escaperoom fans can have a look, people who expect a funny and sick chicken game should better play Moorhuhn. 👀More of the chicken hunt on my curation page. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
'Holy Chick!' is a weird puzzle room style game in which you need to find your way into a secret bunker, but you start off in a caravan. All the while you are doing this giant monster chickens are trying to eat you. I have to say, it gives off vibes of classic horror B-movies, so expect a fair amount of cheese and a few gags. Given its small asking price I have to say this is a very well made game with some clever puzzles, a fun storyline and even the graphics are pretty good (the monster chickens are especially cool). It's not often I get to say this at all, but I really do think this game is being sold a little too cheaply. But do grab it now before the developer realises that.
I think this is a really interesting idea. Sadly, though, I can't progress without the bunker self destructing due to object I grab randomly disappearing when I set them down and sometimes even when I am holding them. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because I would love to try and finish the game.
Sorry to say this. But this game does not seem to be tested prior to release. So I must recommend to not get this game. The controlls are terrible, objects disappear, hitboxes are wrong, you glitch through walls, it is super frusttrating and in my oppinion it is unplayable at this date. Pro:Trailer and screenshots look good and the idea is nice.
Surprisingly good
The trailer shows you almost everything the game has to offer. Besides that there is not much more to see. There is a total of around 5 puzzles . When I played the game, it had gamebreaking bugs. Without the bugs, I would have finished the game within 30 min including exploring everything. It is basically a trial and error game and only the first room (the caravan in the trailer) is pretty interactive. The rest is super straight forward. The biggest bug seems to be temporarily fixed by now. But since it has no replay value and I completed I have no reason to check back. When i played it, it was super frustrating and I would not recommend it.
The second part of the game has many useless rooms, the beginning is fun but short.
The game seems to be a beautiful idea but there is a big problem does not make you complete the game is the disappearance of things after leaving them and not working the integration device how the developer lift editable game unfinishable I hope to send an update quickly to solve this problem 2021-04-11 I thank the developer for their response to solve the problem. You can now finish the game without problems, but the game needs a lot of updates since it is in the early access system, But I am sure the developer has a lot of great ideas awaiting updates
Very nice little game with great humour and style! For this price is a no-brainer!
