The original Hollow Knight was challenging but achievable. Silksong is just too difficult. It's not enjoyable to spend 5 or more hours trying to fight a boss in the early part of the game. While I finished Hollow Knight and I've played it a few times, I can see myself giving up on Silksong in Act 1 because it's just too annoying, especially with the long runbacks. There has to be a balance between challenging and enjoyable. Too many enemies / bosses cause two mask damage too. I put off playing this game because I heard it was more difficult but I loved the original so much that I was hoping at least the gameplay would be fair. I don't think it is. I believe the developers made some of the earlier bosses easier in a recent update. It wasn't enoiugh. This is a visually stunning sequel but too frustrating to recommend.
