English Version (French Below) : Ok firstly, I somehow kind of enjoyed the game, but that is definitely not one I would recommend. Firstly, it is old, and the controls are very clunky, even for the time. The music is... unique ..? I personnally disliked it but to each their own More importantly, my god is this game cryptic sometimes. Instead of what the Hitman series is known for, the game wants you to follow precise steps in a very specific order in order to fulfill your mission, and that can be very frustrating when you realize you cannot save ! Yup, so everytime you fail, you have to restart from the beginning (to be fair, you have multiple lives, but guards remember your face and generally, once you get caught, you failed the mission anyway). The shooting is pretty horrendous and my lord do you have to walk for thousands of years in this game. They were some good missions like the hotel one but unfortunately that's not the case of every mission (looking at you, Lee Hong mission) If you want to play those missions, you might as well play Hitman Contracts, it contains modernized versions of missions of this game anyway.
The game doesn't properly communicate what breaks your disguise. The AI is also strange. It does not investigate sounds (I think), but a guard in combat can instantly recruit other nearby guards (even through walls, or floors). This reveals your disguise to the other guard, even if they have never seen you. But guards do not communicate your disguise between each other outside of combat, which makes being compromised strangely un-punishing. Guards can also see behind themselves a little. This includes them seeing what you're holding. Holding a piano wire always breaks your disguise (for some reason), which turns sneaking behind guards unnecessarily precise. It's not a fun game.
I love hitman games but this game is a walking diarrhea. one thing is a stealth game but this is a game where you can't let a damn fart out without having the guards blasting you like a its a PHUB studio and you're BonBlue. if I had to tell you the amount of times this game has wronged me in the most Bullcrap ways you'd pay for my therapy in pity. To explain to you the amount of crippling depression this game gives me ill put it to you this way, I WOULD RATHER SLAM MY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PINKIE TOE AGAINST THE CORNER OF A METAL DOOR FRAME AS HARD AS I HUMANLY POSIBBLY CAN EVERYDAY FOR THE REST OF MY ENTIRE LIFE THAN PLAY THIS STUPID ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME!!! I WOULD RATHER GET BACKSHOTS FROM A HUNCH BACK GORILLA FOR 100,000 HOURS EVERYDAY UNTIL GORILAS GET THE RIGHT TO DRIVE THAN REPLAY THOSE BULLCRAP MISSIONS!!! I WOULD RATHER REENACT THE 1 MAN 1 JAR VIDEO THAN TORTURE MYSELF TO THIS MASTERPIECE OF DOG CACA!!! IF I WAS A SPY AND WAS FORCED TO PLAY THIS GAME I WOULD'VE CONFESSED TO EVERYTHING TO STOP PLAYING IT!!! you have missions like The Lee Hong Assassination, Say Hello to My Little Friend and now I'm stuck on Plutonium Runs Loose. THESE 3 MISSIONS MAKE ME FEEL LIKE AS IF I HAVE A BRAIN HAEMORRHAGE, THEY MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I'M AN ELDERLY MAN WHO COD ZOMBIES DOLPHIN DIVED DOWN THE STAIRS TO GET PHD FLOPPER. in other words...eh its an ok game with some of the worst AI I have ever had the displeasure to experience. I Highly recommend this game if you want to feel like playing Crossy road IRL during rush hour.
I love hitman, but this is extremely janky. The missions would be good if the NPCS worked properly. 5/10

I've been a huge fan of the Hitman series for years, and now, after a long time, I'm finally reviewing the very first entry. So you are about to read the thoughts of someone who was introduced to the world of Video games because of Hitman and my lovely Agent 47. Let's go back to 1998, when almost every stealth game was released only on consoles, and PC players basically had nothing in this genre. Then a game arrived that I can honestly call revolutionary for the entire industry: Hitman: Codename 47 For its time, the level design was outstanding. From its incredible soundtrack to a story that keeps you glued to the screen, everything felt ahead of its era. And the gameplay? It went all out. Imagine a 1999 game where enemy bodies didn't magically disappear after a few seconds. You could actually hide them, and even take their clothes as disguise. The was mind blowing back then. The only real downside is the lack of a save system, which makes the game more challenging. If you try this game today, the old school UI might bother you a bit, but overall, but overall, it's still an exceptional experience.
Fun game but it didn't aged quite well, the gameplay is quite clunky
a game so flawed i uninstalled it and rage quit, but so good i went back and redownloaded it
This is my most neutral review ever, it's kind of hard to recommend but a necessary piece to fully enjoy the series + Really cool origin for 47, the story is great + Love the environments and vibes, they're timeless - More of a puzzle than a sandbox, there's generally like one solution to each mission - Super janky and you can't save mid-mission A playthrough without a guide is 12+ hours because you'll experiment, fail, and have to restart the level and try something new. You'll either enjoy that challenge or you won't. Another option to experience the story is to watch the full game played optimally on YouTube which only takes 2 hours.
для того времени отличная игра , но сейчас она устарела и даже сохранений нет. стелс лучше , чем во 2 части, что радует. рекомендую если для вас неважна графика и вы готовы траить миссии по многу раз , ведь геймплей тут все еще хорош
