3/10 Hentai Parody: Tentacle Slayer is a soulless and horny Demon Slayer parody with great visuals, a severe lack of real storytelling, and choppy gameplay. My takeaway: Hentai Parody: Tentacle Slayer is exactly what it says it is while still failing to immerse the player in any real story or charm that’s an essential part of Demon Slayer. The artwork is beautiful and the genderbent versions of the beloved characters are very fun to see but seeing them act so out of character makes me question if the creator is even a fan of the series or just using the horny part of the fanbase to cash grab.The gameplay itself aside from the visual novel aspect of it is fast and unforgiving; if you mess up once you need to start over prolonging the very short playtime in perhaps the most frustrating way. Luckily the play time isn’t too long, taking about 30 minutes to finish the game with all of the achievements. Classifying Hentai Parody: Tentacle Slayer as a visual novel is questionable. It’s at most an artbook with a loose story revolving around a “classic hentai villain” devoid of any real character or qualities. You don’t see any of the characters for too long nor do they feel, act, or often look like the characters they’re supposed to portray. I can’t really recommend this as a fan of the series nor as a casual player- even at the discount. I just can’t believe the majority of reviews on this title are positive.
