Shiori, eine Magierin bietet ihre Hilfe an, wie er nun in dieser Welt überleben kann. Monster töten und seine Fähigkeiten zu verbessern. Bald kann er sich von selbst um Quest kümmern, aber es gibt eine große Gefahr. Die Stadt Lightshire wird von tödlichen Monstern angegriffen, aber wo kommen diese bloß her. Waking up with amnesia in another world is the least of your problems. Suddenly appearing in the town of Lightshire while it’s being attacked by Darkwolves and being rescued by a pink-haired mage insisting you become an adventurer is a whole nother story. Lost and confused, you slowly learn how to complete quests, and become a proper, if reluctant, tank. Solve the mystery of why the monsters keep attacking Lightshire while clearing the mages name! I would have a hard time recommending this so I’m not going to. You have three romanceable characters, Aiko the healer, Chise the rogue, Shiori the mage. While they are certainly likeable, I didn’t find them loveable and it was hardly worth remembering their names rather than just pink, green and purple. The entire time you are just trying to stop the three love interests from fighting each other and you just keep getting pushed around. You get forced into becoming an adventurer and a tank when you clearly don’t want to, and just keep getting dragged everywhere. The ending of the story was rather underwhelming as well. TL;DR: While Ascendant hearts is well written and has lovely backgrounds, that’s all it has going for it.

The game begins with a hero with amnesia in a rpg-like world. quick overview: +lovely designed characters +nice music -average,useless & clueless MC with some psychological complexes -useless/boring plots-maybe satirical? Things this game is [b] NOT [/b]! -EPIC Story -RPG -a good game At first i thought,nice finally a VN with rpg elements,i was quite wrong, although your choices have an impact-it's not enough. The whole "mainquest" was more like running around aimlessly,searching for clues and accusing other "relevant" NPC's. On the way you're trying to stop your company to fight each other,many events felt forced. Some of those 'conflicts' were like conflicts i had like in my childhood,which sadly is so many years into the past. And it's like,take her side or the other get +1 to profit at the end,the only 'grey' thing in this game is the final boss,and even this way easily solved. You can probably guess "the mastermind" from the start, it's very one-dimensional,nothing tragic or unforseen happens. The only tragedy with this game is,that i continued till the end in hopes of some major change. I couldn't be bothered to replay it,since the characters weren't all that memorable and the story was just plain boring-really,i never got this 'kick' you get when the game amazes you. I should say,that i got the best ending with the rom. option i wanted without ever reloading. A game which actually has a better plot aspect and similiar idea is Crystalline by PixelFade,Loren the Amazon princess of another dev & some of the other games of the same company,if you search for something like this

[h1] Genre [/h1] Eine Visual Novel mit Isekai Thema [h1] Story [/h1] Wir spielen einen Jungen Mann namens Hayato und wachen gerade in der kleinen Stadt oder dem kleinen Dort Lightshire auf. Wir können uns an unser früheres Leben nicht genau erinnern aber stellen schnell fest, das wir hier nicht mehr in unserer Welt sind, sondern in einer Welt wo RPG Regeln gelten. Das finden wir anfangs natürlich sehr seltsam und wollen schnellstmöglich zurück in unsere Welt aber schnell finden wir Freunde und den Grund warum wir hier sind [h1] Gameplay [/h1] Es ist natürlich eine Visual Novel also lesen wir uns durch die Story und treffen immer wieder Entscheidungen die, die Grundstory an sich nicht wirklich verändern aber zu extra Dialogen oder CGs führen können. Einige Entscheidungen zielen natürlich auch darauf ab ob wir das Herz eines der 3 Mädels am Ende gewinnen können. Es gibt keine direkten Routes sondern wie gesagt immer nur kleinere Abschnitte wo man z.B. mit einem Charakter alleine spricht und dann gehts wieder zurück zur Normalen/Common Route. Erst gegen Ende trifft man eine Grundlegende Entscheidung die das Ende beeinflusst. Zeichenstil gefällt mir gut und auch die Story ist interessant und wird Humorvoll rübergebracht. Es gibt einen Uncut Patch den man sich holen kann aber das sind dann nur 4 oder 5 CGs die einfach abgeändert wurden, von der Story verpasst man nichts [h1] Achievement Schwierigkeit 2/10 [/h1] Es gibt insgesamt 11 Erfolge. Hierfür muss man alle 3 Endings gesehen haben und das Herz der 3 Mädels gewinnen. Dann noch einmal nur auf Freundschaft das Spiel beenden (also ohne eine der Mädels zu wählen) und der Rest ist nicht verpassbar. Insgesamt alles super einfach weil man mit dem Save System sehr gut arbeiten kann und somit immer schnell zwischen den Entscheidungen springen kann, bereits gesehener Text lässt sich flott skippen [h1] Pro/Contra [/h1] + Gute Story + Humorvoll + Netter Zeichenstil + Nette CGs + Sympathische Charaktere + Achievements + Sammelkarten + XBox 360 Controller Support (sieht man auch selten bei VNs) [h1] Fazit [/h1] Ich bin ja Großer Fan von Fantasy VNs und suche immer wieder nach Neuen Spielen in dieser Kategorie. Ich habe diese VN per Zufall gefunden und fand es von Anfang bis Ende sehr Unterhaltsam und kann es jedem Fan von Fantasy und/oder Isekai VNs sehr Empfehlen. Eines der Endings lässt auf einen Nachfolger deuten aber den wird es wohl nicht mehr geben leider. We've all experienced games that have abrupt endings that look like the studio ran out of time or money.  This game is the exact opposite; it has fully flushed-out storylines that will leave you feeling satisfied. I've also played Eternal Radiance (by the same developer), and I recommend that game very highly as well.  In fact, it's the reason why I bought this game.  I look forward to additional titles from Visualnoveler.

Ascendant Hearts is a visual novel that was developed by a very small team through a crowfunding effort. The premise of the story is good and funny - the protagonist is someone "from the real world" who somehow ends up in a RPG fairy tale, with all the cliches and stereotypes associated with them to boot. The game has multiple endings, and is fairly long for the cost, around 15-20 hours of story. However, the main driving plot and the story dialogue and text in general has an unpolished feel, not surprising given the very small team that is behind the game. Decent artwork and backgrounds. However, there is not a lot of CGs and character poses and expressions. Music is generic outsourced music that, while nice enough to listen to, lacks oomph and does not exactly fit the fantasy medieval theme of the story. No voice acting as well. Interface leaves a little to be desired. History has to be acessed via the menu, cannot jump back, no buttons in the screen, etc. Overall, a good enough visual novel, and a good effort by the fledging developing team. 7/10
