To my surprise, The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2 is a bit different than its predecessor. Still, it retains its high-quality rom-com storytelling fueled with slice-of-life elements. That said, it’s not required to play the first game beforehand since the game focuses on new characters and settings. Yet, it will help you to understand the main protagonist’s situation easier as it takes place following the events of the conclusion. Strangely, snow begins to fall. In a chance encounter, while investigating this strange change of weather, he meets Iris, the Princess of Winter, who doesn’t have a place to stay. Typical of Nora, he brings her to meet his friends. Iris then lends her help until her female butler, Noel, finds her. It turns out that Iris has a curse on her that makes everyone forget about her existence along with the kingdom she comes from. It’s then up to the group to help her break this curse. Fans of this series pretty much know what they can expect from this game. The themes center around many comedic moments filled with sweet romance and even some “touching” scenes. While the story never struck me as emotionally charged, I was drawn to it by its witty comedic tone, which left me laughing quite a few times. The game does introduce two new heroines, Iris and Noel, who are hilarious together and fit in with the group. Noel and Iri’s relationship is believable and you can immediately tell that they both care about each other. As a base for some hysterical moments, Noel can only talk through her voice recorder and has to search for the right tape for the correct occasion. The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2 puts a significant focus on the new heroines in this story, but players can also romance three returning girls who weren’t romanceable in the first game. These are Nobuchina and the two sisters from the Netherworld, Lucia, and Euracia. While the four past love interests do appear, they’re not romanceable, but do have an extra short story you can unlock when completing a particular route. I found these shorter routes a bit disappointing because I wanted to spend more time with the previous cast members, but such is life. The mewsing chapters also appear in this entry. Mewsings are occasionally available while playing the game but aren’t directly related to the main story. The only purpose of these chapters is to present a hilarious situation and amuse the reader. I have to admit; they fulfill their purpose. Although they seem a bit silly and out of context at first, it was a refreshing way to implement something between the main story playfully, and I found myself even looking forward to them. There is a branch in the narrative that happens early in the story. One decision is enough to get into a certain girl’s route. There are no other decisions, except for choosing which mewsing chapter you want to play, and only one ending per girl is available. I found the romance convincing and sweet, yet the censored scenes led to some confusion. It wasn’t clear when a sex scene happened, so I had to guess whether they ended up getting together based on the character’s reaction. Sometimes, it felt out of place when they would suddenly talk about it, but the scenes they were referencing wasn’t in the story. This made me think I missed out on meaningful dialogue. The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2 supports multiple subtitles for different languages. This is available in case the reader wants to practice their Chinese or Japanese, although it’s only voiced in Japanese. There are various in-game settings available as well, so you can freely choose the font you prefer and customize your visual novel reading experience. The art style is gorgeous, and there are a lot of stunning CGs available, which can be viewed in the menu after unlocking them. Sadly, animations aren’t implemented in the CG gallery. The subtle animation is impressive in The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2 and makes the characters look a lot livelier during a scene. However, I noticed that when an animation takes place, the game gets laggy, especially in the beginning, even on a powerful rig. This didn’t impact how much I enjoyed the game, but the stuttering animations can be jarring. Additionally, the soundtrack feels nostalgic, and I found the cheerful tone fits the game’s theme. Although The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2 take place after the first installment, it doesn’t feel like a continuation, more of a side story. The comedic elements and charming romance held my attention through the game’s routes. The story introduces new heroines and new romanceable characters who the reader got to know in the previous entry. So it is possible for newcomers to enjoy this entry. There’s a lot of things that The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2 does right in its presentation and storytelling. Although I did feel left out of the conversation sometimes with this version’s missing the adult scene. It was strange to see Nora getting together with a new girl. The characters are unique and attractive, and each leads their story well. There are many emotions and relationships, such as happiness, friendship, worry, and love. It lets you experience the feeling of watching a well-made TV anime series or movie. It naturally unfolds themes in the story that anyone can easily relate to. Overall, storytelling is great. This is a visual novel with high quality. The game engine is well equipped with basic features with extra contents. In particular, it supports dual language display. This allows you to understand the meaning better by comparing each text. The artworks are in HD quality, and you can see the collected CGs in the gallery mode. [h1] No patch at all this time, but quite like the previous one, this one is also packed with some wholesome story.[/h1] The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart 2… Before we get into it, I'm just going to say that the Steam version is the all-ages version, so don’t expect any H scenes. Unlike the prequel, there are no patches at all. At least for now. Even so, it’s still a good visual novel though. [h2][b]Now about the game[/b][/h2] [b]In a nutshell, the reason I enjoyed reading through the visual novel was that: [/b] [list] [*]Sprite has a lot more design variations and they’re wonderfully done [*]“Mewsing” skits while corny at times, some actually made me laugh [*]The Driving minigame was a great addition since it helps liven up the moment during a certain scenario [*]Nobuchina’s had the most wholesome moments compared to the other heroine [*]The new soundtracks were splendid, especially “snow filament” by Shirome [/list] The game is not a direct sequel to the previous one. Closer to a spin-off in my opinion. However, to understand the circumstances surrounding the MC, it would be preferable if you tried the previous game first. The story starts out quite similar to the prequel, but the kicker is that, instead of the netherworld kingdom, it starts with a narrative about an old, ruined, and forgotten kingdom. The rest is quite how you expect it to be: misunderstandings, revenge, and plot twists. The classic fantasy story bread and butter, but can’t say I hate it. The game introduces five new main heroines (two new casts and three side characters from the previous game) and I’m not going to lie the new heroine's route is a bit underwhelming, story-wise. Except for Nobuchina’s and Tris’s route. Those two, in my opinion, had a pretty well-written story. Each time you clear a route, you’ll unlock extra stories and after stories from the previous game. One thing I felt after playing through the visual novel, is that one of the new main heroine traits kinda overlaps with one of the heroines from the previous game. However, the developer took a brilliant move and made said heroine screen time in this game a lot shorter. Making the character overlap less noticeable and allowing the new heroine to stand out. One other thing, I’ve played both the Japanese and steam version. The only noticeable difference between the two is in Yuuki’s route and Noel’s route. The Steam version had two extra stories for Noel, unlike the Japanese version which only had one. Yuuki’s route….well,….in place of the H scenes, they added a bunch of “mewsing” skits. Those extra skits, while some are hilarious, some are just a bunch of corny or cringy jokes. [b] Issues I had with the visual novel: [/b] I don’t have a lot of complaints about the game and I’m not sure if this is an “it’s just you” issue, but for some reason, the visual novel didn’t run as smoothly as some other visual novels that I’ve played. The game framerate jumped between 7-30, especially during scenes with heavy visual effects. Tried turning the effects off and it helped…a little. The most annoying part is that I tried getting the game from a different source and had all the settings turned on. To my surprise, [b]it ran a lot smoother[/b] and the framerate stayed at 60…all the time. So I’m guessing there’s something wrong with the Steam version. The rest are pretty minor issues such as that the translation doesn’t make sense and typos during certain scenes. Which are probably something most people don’t really mind, but I’m just going to say that it’s there. [h2][b]Overal[/b] [/h2] Despite the game jumpy framerate issue, which so far, I have zero ideas as to what’s causing it, the visual novel was an enjoyable read. To those who enjoy heartwarming stories with some silly and yet funny comedy on the side, you might want to give one a try. Looking forward to the third game (which is in the making!). Hopefully, the jumpy framerates issue would’ve been fixed by then and also include a complete adult patch. Decent game , I would recommend for most people , but in my opinion the lack of 18+ content cuts down the playtime by alot and often the story makes no sense as the scenes change too rapidly in between. However , the mix of romance and comedy as well as a touch of emotional stories does this game well. In all , i do recommend this game for anyone who is into the first game. This game has relatively higher playtime as compared to the previous so keep that in mind when purchasing.

以传奇延续传奇，以神作续写神作，作为野良猫的第二部，本作依旧延续系列一贯的高水准质量，量大管饱的cg数量，配音以及剧本的倾力付出，欢乐有趣的日常，也不时伴随些许感动。对于喜欢轻松向欢乐废萌作品的玩家而言，《野良与皇女与流浪猫之心2》绝对是值得一玩的作品。 [spoiler] 个人线方面，信千奈线写的相当的好，哪怕把HCG删除，单独作为一个作品拿出来，都是一个非常完整且美好的故事。妹线姐线中规中矩，挺喜欢的白毛线居然这么短倒是很可惜.......最后要说一说的，就是表面真女主爱丽丝，一进游戏就是占据半个屏幕，前期有趣的展开，当你以为要写什么的时候，突然，结束了。个人线各种妙明奇妙的转折，意义不明的行为，逻辑混乱的目的，各方面剧情高光都被配角夺去，都不免让人怀疑，不是，你真的是女主么？查询爱丽丝状态，到了别人个人线更是神隐，从来见不到人，路人女主实至名归......

[h1]我可太喜欢这种乱七八糟的感觉了[/h1] 比起猫一经费投入感觉更多了，时不时来个动画效果，还塞了个开车的unity小游戏，剧本也写得更长更好了，除了附赠的三妹，其它线感觉都写得挺好的，信千奈线更是神中神。还有声优的发挥和无厘头的段子太优秀了，很久没有玩得这么开心了。 春风社的作品风格我是真的喜欢啊，真就是作者的电波刚好和我对上了，有点相见恨晚的感觉了。感兴趣的也可以去看看春风的另一部全年龄短篇作：丸子与银河龙，类似的风格，也是一样的无厘头（不过显然是那边人气更高吧，野良猫也太冷门了）。 官网两年多没有新情报了，野良猫三和银河龙二还没出前就似了那种事情真的不要啊(╥_╥)

STORY: This novel remains, as its prequel, an over-the-top comedy harem/romance story first and foremost. This time, it is centered on a princess from an icy and forgotten world set about to get revenge on the Netherworld, with all of the core cast of the first version back. In this regards, the story pulls off the act very well. It is quite funny on its absurdity and cliches that permeate the whole story, inter sped with short, lighter and humorous off-story sketches called "Mewsings", and a few more serious and touching moments. New to the game are Extra Stories from select characters. As in its prequel, not a lot of choices, the story is pretty straightforward, and the few choices that appear all lead to the different romance endings of the game, including character routes that were not available in the first game. While innuendos still abound, I find that the story makes less use of eroge content than the prequel. The translation as in the prequel is top notch; probably one of the best I have read. ARTWORK: The artwork is colorful and vibrant as its story, and superbly executed and well drawn. While sprites are not animated, all characters have a great variety of poses. There is a great deal of CGs intersped throughout the story that are great to look at. Finally, I quite like the variety and quality of the backgrounds available in the game. SOUND: The novel includes a great variety of songs - around 5 dozen of them, even more than the prequel - that are well composed and lovely to listen to and fit very well with the lighthearted atmosphere of the story. Some of them come back from the prequel while many are standalone originals. Some are quite are quite lovely rearrangements of well known classical songs. The music fit quite well with the story mood, and I quite like the transition between different sings that occur throughout the story. Similarly, the voice acting is superbly done and match well with the individual characters of the story and their emotions, as well as the over the top comedic slapstick nature of the plot. SUMMARY: Well worth its full price, and then some more - similar novels at the Steam Store are usually significantly more expensive. 10/10
