About
Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game that combines intense melee combat with the thrill of exploration. Explore a semi-open world to find answers to your questions and face mysterious creatures all along your journey.
As well as the civil war dividing the country, the region is suffering from a mysterious calamity, which has given rise to supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can defeat. Your drone and sword from a different age are your faithful allies as you cut a path through lands infested with terrifying chimeras and try to unravel the mystery of their appearance.
No map, no compass, no quest markers: following your instincts is part of the adventure. Enjoy a unique experience that uses innovative writing and level design to let you make your own decisions and follow your instincts as you explore. Your discoveries are yours alone.
Swords, spears and axes: a wide range of weapons forged specially for fighting these supernatural creatures is available. You will need to learn how to fight these monsters and use your drone wisely to stay alive.
''The central theme of Hell is Us is that human violence is a perpetual cycle fueled by human emotions and passions.'' – Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Creative Director

Хорошая графика, интересный сюжет и секретки. Не плохая боевая система, но разнообразие врагов скудное, ближе к концу надоедают враги.
This game is difficult to recommend, I'm not 100% sure I actually do. The first barrier to entry is the topic matter. Not many games or media in general decide to be heavily influenced by the Yugoslavian War. This game puts the horrifying details on full display; which might not be palatable for some. I must say though, they do treat the topic matter with a lot of care, delicacy and difference. The opening warnings that usually show up: trigger warnings and photosensitivity. Was accompanied by one that elaborated on the dev's approach to displaying this sort of violence. Specifically calling out that this is not celebrating or glorifying it; in fact the opposite; and I can see that. The visual fidelity and art direction was fantastic. It certainly set a clear atmosphere of Balkan wilderness and small townships. The sound design was similarly incredible. However, that level of creative care did not extend to the OST which was rather bland and repetitive. Now to talk about the gameplay. And the reason I only have under 6hr gameplay time. This is a soulslike that has been heavily diluted by Resident Evil style puzzles. I appreciate that the game does not hold your hand through navigating the world and it's puzzles. It would be better though if they gave you better tools to facilitate your own puzzle solving; like a map with player placed markers/notes. At the very least, not have a menu UI that is slow and nebulous to navigate through looking for the correct reference/item. The puzzles themselves are fine. Though I found they destroyed the pace of the souls-like aspect. And when you do get to sink your teeth into the meaty part of the game, the combat. It was devastatingly disappointing. There are roughly only 5 enemy types and all of them are very similar aesthetically and can be dealt with all in the same approach. In my 6ish hours, I found no bosses. Though looking it up, apparently there are 2; which for a souls-like is rather anaemic. The only metrics that were manipulated to make encounters different were the HP totals and number of enemies to face. This lack of engaging combat for a $73 AUD game was a hard pill to swallow and the reason I had to drop it. (With 6ish hrs I don't want to comment much on the story or characters. But from what I could tell, they were very serviceable. By no means bad or "mid". Just perfectly fine and enjoyable without blowing me away). I'd say get this if you are really interested in the setting and have your expectations adjusted accordingly for the lack lustre combat. Buy it only on sale. And I hope these devs can produce something better next time. Cause I can see the potential, the genuine talent and artistic intent. Plus there is a bit of the good "sauce" here. Just not enough in this game to keep me around.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first play through, the storyline and world is full of interesting lore and I really enjoyed the build up to the end. I loved the puzzles and exploration, fights were fun and I enjoyed the weapon crafting. Well worth a play through - I have just started a new playthrough as I missed an achievement, although, I will probably do a third play after the release in October of the update.
Fabulous, I haven't been so curious since "Lies of P"
very intriguing and lore driven game. great puzzles. highly recommend taking your time and not missing anything in each act. There is no going back and back tracking a save so if you miss an opportunity for good deeds in particular. you will have to start a new game to get them all that can make this game a bit tedious. the time loops and puzzles leave something to do in the post game, however if you clear them in the first completion, it leaves the post game very barren. overall very engaging and thought provoking game highly recommend i wish there was more! I love the style and wish there were more costumes than hats. definitely looking out for any sequels and other games from this dev.
Hell Is Us is an amazing game and a graphical masterpiece. The story is dark and gloomy, creating an eerie atmosphere that keeps you engaged. The enemies are spooky and hollow, adding to the game's unsettling world. While the combat is somewhat lackluster, the healing mechanics help make up for that weakness. The puzzles are both amazing and frustrating. They require a lot of backtracking, which can become annoying at times, but they also make solving them feel rewarding. Unfortunately, the achievements are buggy. Most of the time, I had to quit the game and relaunch it before achievements would unlock properly. Overall, Hell Is Us delivers a memorable experience thanks to its incredible visuals, haunting atmosphere, and unique world. Despite its weak combat and buggy achievements, it's still a game that's well worth playing.
A soulslike tilted towards exploration, puzzles and narrative. As someone who enjoys combat in soulslike games, i don't mind the lack of depth in this aspect. The narrative and atmosphere more than makes up for it. NPC interactions feel unique and fresh, i wish From Soft would take some notes. Dialogue is S tier, the devs manage to navigate heavy subject matter really well. The game is really polished for a AA No tech issues for me either
gioco solido, storia coinvolgente
Such a great game for unraveling mysteries of a world unlike anything I've ever seen. Dark themes and fun weapons with customization available but it isn't too overwhelming. I took a break about halfway through for like a month+ and came back and was still able to get back into it without losing track of what's going on. The beginning might make you think it's going to be difficult to navigate the game because the paths are confusing and there isn't a traditional map and quest compass but it isn't all that difficult once you get the hang of it. I recommend going through the first part without diverging from the main quest too much and once you get to the second location really start to explore.
