If war is the closest we get to hell on earth, it's because Earth harbours the worst of demons: humankind. In an isolated country ravaged by infighting, discover the secrets of your past and deal with the repercussions of a mysterious calamity.

As well as the civil war dividing the country, the region is suffering from a mysterious calamity, which has given rise to supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can defeat. Your drone and sword from a different age are your faithful allies as you cut a path through lands infested with terrifying chimeras and try to unravel the mystery of their appearance.
No map, no compass, no quest markers: following your instincts is part of the adventure. Enjoy a unique experience that uses innovative writing and level design to let you make your own decisions and follow your instincts as you explore. Your discoveries are yours alone.
Swords, spears and axes: a wide range of weapons forged specially for fighting these supernatural creatures is available. You will need to learn how to fight these monsters and use your drone wisely to stay alive.
''The central theme of Hell is Us is that human violence is a perpetual cycle fueled by human emotions and passions.'' – Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Creative Director

I just completed the first act; there's quite a lot of game left. I didn't have so much fun in a long time. It has some bugs here and there, but the creative vision is strong, and it's well executed. Go for it. Try to figure everything out by yourself without relying on guides.
I absolutely love this game. If you approach this game for what it is: puzzle, story, lore, exploration with some fun combat mechanics second, then it's amazing. This is not a souls-like game. It's a game that you take your time and explore the lore, the beautifully crafted environments, ambiance, and world. There is no world map for a reason; you are expected to really explore not just follow a dot on the map. This results in you really learning the environment (something we aren't used to doing in our GPS-powered world). I'm really surprised this game doesn't have even more positive reviews than it does. It brings back vibes of games like Myst, while also having a really cool story.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Truly amazing game! Was absolutely hooked on the story from start to finish! First game in the longest time that needed some serious brain power to solve its many puzzles and mysteries. My gf and I had a blast taking notes, drawing connections, backtracking to gather more info or unlock something in order to solve future puzzles. The game just drips atmosphere. The sound team did an amazing job and the environments can go from beautifully mysterious to crushingly depressing as you move through the world. The warnings at the start of the game must be taken seriously, some scenes and locations really drive home how truly awful people can be in times of war. Combat is great but is not the main focus of the game. Once you get your build together you enter a bit of a flow state, have your go to skills to manage large groups of enemies, and as long as you're consistent with it, can manage most encounters confidently. And finally the story. Hats off to the writing team because not a single thing that happened was predictable, as I said at the start of my review, we were hooked to the story from start to finish, desperately trying to piece together every puzzle/mystery with everything we learned. Every NPC you chat to has their own little story and opinions on the world, that can ultimately shape your own opinion. We ended up caring about these people and there were some story beats that left us devastated, and not just major story moments/cutscenes. One little side quest of delivering an item for a random side character had us just sitting there in stunned silence. Awesome game! If you're on the fence it seems to go on sale often, grab it then and you won't regret it. Really looking forward to seeing more from this team,
The main story and overall lore is quite engaging, the absence of a quest hud system may have enhanced the experience by forcing the player to pay attention to everything they come across, when you have an arrow pointing you to where you must go you sometimes ignore clue items and talks. The game doesn't make it much dificult to know where or what you need, as long as you read stuff... I think there were only 2 instances where I got stuck on a side mission because the clues were kinda novel for the game and I wasn't expecting it. My only grievance is that it seems there's only half a game... not much of a spoiler but there are 8 symbols and throughtout the game to the end you only really interact with 4 from lore to enemies and items, you even end the game with some surplus of a certain item that would indicate there was more story in the middle but it got cut for some reason. I recommend and would 100% play a sequel...
Jogo com história e mistérios intrigantes. Amei passar meu tempo descobrindo como explorar e resolver os mistérios.
fun times
I came to this game because it looked like a souls-like, but it turned out to be so much more than that. The story and world-building is very involving, leaving you wanting to know more and more about the past of the land you explore and the people you connect with. Endless secrets make your loot goblin brain go crazy, and the countless puzzles triggered my Resident Evil sleeper agent time and time again. While the start may have been a bit slow (also may have been a skill issue on my part getting used to the game/getting through Acasa), the game is pretty quick to open up a trove of things for you to do. That being said, this game does not hold your hand. There's usually no map, no clear direction except for following paths/unlocking new areas, and a LOT of backtracking. Personally, I loved going back to previous areas. There's some sort of satisfaction that comes with finally unlocking everything in an area, and this game rewards you exponentially for it. The combat, while not super challenging, is very fleshed out and fully realized. Taking on the traditional Souls-like feel while incorporating newer concepts like deflecting/perfect guarding. The upgrade system is fairly simple, but there's a lot to experiment with in terms of weapon abilities. Overall, I had a blast with this game. When it finally ended it felt extremely bittersweet. I didn't want it to end, but I did so much on my own without looking things up that it felt very accomplishing when I did finish. 9/10
It has Interesting world building with smart puzzles throughout the game. Due to its approach to progress & puzzles, I personally enjoy the game better when it is a bit more contained & linear (act 1). As someone who is a bit of a completionist, It is a bit maddening when the game starts to open up in act two. This is because the game scattered clues, keys and progression across different areas. This forced you to track back and forth between area and it is becoming really annoying very quickly. Especially because the game doesn't offer you many variety of enemies, and battles doesn't really reward in a meaningful way. I feel the game change a bit mid - late game into a more puzzle solving and walking simulator.
