If war is the closest we get to hell on earth, it's because Earth harbours the worst of demons: humankind. In an isolated country ravaged by infighting, discover the secrets of your past and deal with the repercussions of a mysterious calamity.

Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game that combines intense melee combat with the thrill of exploration. Explore a semi-open world to find answers to your questions and face mysterious creatures all along your journey.
As well as the civil war dividing the country, the region is suffering from a mysterious calamity, which has given rise to supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can defeat. Your drone and sword from a different age are your faithful allies as you cut a path through lands infested with terrifying chimeras and try to unravel the mystery of their appearance.
No map, no compass, no quest markers: following your instincts is part of the adventure. Enjoy a unique experience that uses innovative writing and level design to let you make your own decisions and follow your instincts as you explore. Your discoveries are yours alone.
Swords, spears and axes: a wide range of weapons forged specially for fighting these supernatural creatures is available. You will need to learn how to fight these monsters and use your drone wisely to stay alive.
''The central theme of Hell is Us is that human violence is a perpetual cycle fueled by human emotions and passions.'' – Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Creative Director

Reviews
Balkan God of War with a lot of puzzles and a good narrative to unfold. The consumables and defensive gear could have used a bit more variety to help out in the combat. Overall it's a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good game, apart from the achievement Legend of the Phol.
On one hand the atmosphere, worldbuilding, and art direction are solid but on the other hand the gameplay just isn't there. The sluggishness of the melee combat doesn't mesh at all with how floaty the movement feels. It's like you're an ice skating ninja but you're heaving around a steel beam. Pair that with virtually zero enemy variety (yes, that includes the "bosses") and endless backtracking thanks to side content and you have yourself a very droll and repetitive experience. Rating: 2/5.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Hell is Us isn't difficult, but it doesn't hold your hand. Your objectives and side quests aren't conveniently placed in an organized list for you to check off. If you don't get lost easy and can remember bits of conversations you've had with NPCs, then you'll probably do fine. The areas are not large and if an NPC says they'd like to have ice cream, keep that in mind when you inevitably run across ice cream later in the game. You may need to read small documents to get clues, but you do have a device that tracks your inventory and progress so that you can reference materials you collect to progress. There are enemies in the game that you fight and you are given weapons and other items to help deal with the enemies, but combat is not the focus. The focus of the game seems more on discovering the story. The enemies are there as a side effect of events in the story. I didn't have any technical issues with the game, it ran good with DLSS, but I'm on an RTX 5090 so of course it ran good. Use the in-game headphone setting to active Dolby Atmos on AV receivers; the speaker mode is only 5.1 for some reason and doesn't activate spatial audio, switching to headphones activates spatial. The audio sounds good and heavy. There are actually solid mid and low end effects in the audio.
Hell is Us is a sublime experience — a beautifully depressing and haunting portrayal of war, genocide, government conspiracy, and the endless cycle of violence. Despite the supernatural elements, this is a game about how humanity’s capacity for cruelty, prejudice, and atrocity turns us into the architects of our own hell. And yet, of also still finding glimmers of hope among all the ruins. Even though the themes are VERY bleak, the atmosphere, soundtrack and artstyle makes all the horror and despair you witness seem almost surreal. As an outsider who arrives in the middle of a conflict frozen in time, you can merely observe the aftermath of a great calamity and piece together the truth about what happened to the fictional country of Hadea and the true nature of the supernatural events occuring all over it. Which leads me to how beautiful and varied the environments are. In one moment you might be exploring centuries old dungeons straight out of a Dark Fantasy universe, the other, treading along abandoned trenches or deserted villages still burning after napalm strikes. The game shines the most in its puzzle‑exploration design. The puzzles are varied, clever, and sometimes real head‑scratchers. There's not much hand holding, so the game forces you to pay attention to the environment and clues you collected, which is great because the world itself is incredibly detailed. NPCs feel distinct, their stories interesting, and the environmental storytelling is some of the best I’ve ever seen. There are subtle touches everywhere that make the world feel alive and lived‑in. The supernatural creatures' designs deserve a mention too. They’re strange, unsettling, and genuinely memorable. I just wish there were more enemy types, because the ones that exist are fantastic. As for the negatives: Combat is easily the weakest part of the game. It’s not bad, just limited. With only a handful of enemy types and not many weapons, fights can start to feel repetitive. It’s clear the game’s heart is in exploration, not action. The third and final act of the game is another. It feels rushed, and the ending doesn’t hit as hard as the rest of the experience. Rogue Factor might be wanting to leave room for a possible sequel, but I was expecting more. That said, even with those issues, the game’s atmosphere, worldbuilding, and surreal tone make it absolutely worth playing.
Really cool asthetic. Fun design. Great game

Loved this to death. It plays like an old school RPG that doesn't hold your hand or have overabundant guidance. You'll get a key that might unlock something you read about in a note and have to go find it. There are puzzles that you have to solve with context clues and the answers are rarely given. You can miss a lot of quests if you don't follow the context clues and complete them in time. The combat is deceptively diverse and you can create lots of builds. More than anything, the story is an interesting spin in multiple tropes that includes a lot of mystery and intrigue. The soundtrack also slaps fat bops. Definetly need at least a dlc and hopefully a sequel.
