Headquarters: Cold War is a fast-paced turn-based strategy game set in a hypothetical conflict between NATO and the USSR in 1984. Commanders can play as either side across two plot-driven campaigns and a variety of skirmish missions. Build your force, assign heroes, level up units, and use powerful Headquarters skills to outsmart the enemy and change the course of modern history.
The combat system follows the easy to learn, hard to master philosophy, offering depth and realism with every decision:
Units feature detailed armor (front, side, back, top) where positioning is critical.
Terrain and obstacles provide directional cover and shape the battlefield.
Destroyed vehicles and buildings create new tactical opportunities.
High ground and destructible environments add verticality and unpredictability.
See both sides of the story
Two full campaigns with 10 missions each, for a total of 20 story-driven operations.
Six Skirmish maps designed for replayability and tactical variety.
58 highly detailed unit models and a wide range of 3D environment assets.
Immersing atmosphere with 12 original music tracks, with high quality sound effects that heighten immersion.
Play unique Unit classes: Utility and Attack helicopters. Take command of the first airborne units in the series, capable of transporting infantry, delivering pinpoint strikes, and dominating the battlefield with unmatched mobility.
New HQ skills: adding devastating new abilities such as Resupply, MLRS, Air Strike, and even a Tactical Nuke.
All-new Officer skill trees, offering powerful abilities like Close Quarters Battle, Field Interrogation, Camo Net, Modular Armor Panels, Enhanced Radar Systems, and more to customize your strategy.
Rebalanced Cold War-era gameplay, with increased movement and attack ranges that reflect modern technology while keeping the tactical depth you expect.
The in-game Map Editor lets you design custom skirmish and multiplayer maps from the ground up. Shape the terrain, place objectives, and craft unique tactical scenarios to challenge yourself and others
Between battles, upgrade and customize your units. Assign heroes with unique skills, level up troops, and adapt your force composition to overcome every scenario.
Every unit has a crew, and each member matters. Lose a gunner and firepower drops; lose a driver and mobility suffers. Protect your crews if you want to maintain combat effectiveness.
Play through two campaigns (NATO and USSR) with 10 missions each, test your tactics in Skirmish battles against improved AI, or challenge friends in online multiplayer with up to 4 players. Cooperative 2v2 battles are supported, along with asynchronous play through Slitherine’s CombatHQ system.

I enjoyed it so far! sure they rehash some of the old sounds and everything is pretty much up close but it is stable and fun....what a game should be! FUN! (and a time consumer) Now bring on WW2 east front...to me this game platform works. I had an issue with some of the "get all the enemies or lose" missions but it is all good.
Good.
I truly love this game! It is a little bit simplistic in its mechanics, and some campaign missions are too hard if you don't know about the late mission "twist", but the game's charm is through the roof! The voice acting, the sound effects, the tanks flattening cars when they move, it's all the perfect amount of class and campiness. The game itself is good, even awesome, but it's just not quite great. It's "soul" more than makes up for any deficiencies!

If you enjoyed HQ:WWII You'll love this. However, be aware there are bugs. I'm currently stuck on the Elba's Crossing as it crashes the moment I take the first objective over the bridge. I'm sure it'll be patched soon, just very annoying. EDIT: I had to change to "Not Recommended" as I now found a second game breaking bug on the USSR campaign. 4th mission and the "End Turn" and Mission Objective bars are gone. EDIT 2: While I'll leave the above for context, the game seems to be patched and exactly as I expected as a fan of HQ:WWII. Just a shame the launch had serious game breaking bugs ; that's not something I can ignore easily on a paid product. This has crossed into unacceptable. BOTH campaigns are broken to the point of being unplayable. I'll hold out for patches, but if this game didn't come from an excellent lineage I'd have returned it by now. While I personally Like the game, Im an HQ WW2 junkie and this simply is not a polished product. Therefore, I cannot recommend it in good faith.
DLC Only URSS it's a joke in term a gameplay of time to end and as i have the name of dev/prod i'm not surprised next time do a game in ukrenia and do unique Russian Mission with putin win at the end
