My clumsy hands can't beat anything above Hard no matter how hard I try. If you're ready to grind your fingers to dust? Then I highly recommend it. There are some issues, particularly due to Denuvo - the game sometimes refuses to launch, or there are bugs with key binding, but otherwise, even the base version will let you fully enjoy the songs and the gameplay. Also, don't forget about the fan mods. Shame they abandoned the game in favor of Project Sekai :((((
Music so good the game froze and whitescreened when I went to close it and was so strong I had to restart my pc because it still persisted even after unplugging the ssd the games files was located on! Not even task manager could appear above this game! Miku is simply too strong for me!
Despite my relatively low hours on Steam, I have over 100 hours on Switch and played the crap out of this over Covid and beyond here and there. This is my comfort game, and revisiting this a couple years later with not having played it in a while has been equally as comforting. The familiar (and nostalgic) vocaloid songs have put a massive smile on my face while playing.
I'm a big fan of VOCALOID and UTAU and I really like Project Diva Megamix. It has a really good song list, the gameplay is fun, and there are also lots of mods for the game. If you like VOCALOID, I think you will enjoy this game too.
I'm a long time vocaloid listener and a fanboy for anything Project DIVA related. I'm more of a passive consumer of it nowadays as my adventure with those games ended on Project Diva F 2nd and Arcade Future Tone, but I still do listen to vocaloid artists such as PinocchioP, Utsu-P and so on in my free time, so nothing changed in that regard. Once a fan, always a fan. Before anyone asks - I know of Project Sekai but that community is genuinely radioactive + it's a gacha so I've been purposefully avoiding that game. Sorry, not sorry. I've seen Future Tone already since my parents have a PS5 with that game bought on it. Apparently it's backwards compatible so it runs fine. This game is more or so Future Tone port to PC with nothing that big added to it. Well maybe they broke some stuff while porting, added some extra controller hieroglyphs and erased some random things off some PVs but that's about it. If you aren't playing this on a Dualshock or some other controller then you will have a terrible time. That may just be me though, I'm too used to seeing triangles squares circles and crosses after no-lifing PDF & PDF2 on my PS3 back in the day. I would yap more about it but I don't want to make it too lengthy so to save everyone's time, here's a simple bullet point list. PLUSES - Future Tone PS4 port that to my knowledge also reused some stuff from Arcade Future Tone (which was PC version of FT for arcade cabs) - Modding scene is great, makes it easy to relive charts you may have played as a teenager. - No issues in terms of game performance (it's silky smooth) - Alright selection of tracks in base game - DLC introduces extra 72 songs - It makes me happy - It will make you happy Fun fact: I've listened to vocaloid when I was twelve, and played Project Diva F when I was thirteen, Now I'm about to hit 25 this summer... that doesn't sound that fun anymore. The unfortunate passage of time and mortality, amirite? *clears my throat awkwardly* Nice weather today, innit? MINUSES - Lazy cashgrab - No Diva room (you have no idea just how MUCH I was disappointed to learn this. I WANNA YAP TO THEM, LET ME DO IT RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH) - Unable to tweak settings related to latency straight from pause menu (called Lag in game), the one that can be adjusted in pause menu voids your score and does something completely different (???) - Latency settings buried under 3-4 menus - All DLC songs come from previous games so you won't see anything new here (another massive L for Sega, we should just hand them the award for worst managed games in history of gaming with how they can mismanage any franchise they get their dirty, FILTHY hands on) - Base game is pretty lackluster tbh, getting the DLC and modding your game is a must. - Capped to 60 fps (use High Frame Rate mod to lift it) I've expected it to be something amazing considering it's called Mega Mix+--- or Mega39+ if you're from Japan---like I don't know, extra artists or just a love letter to vocaloid and PD fans but nah, screw you. Just a lazy port of a previous title with changed name and a higher price tag. At least they didn't put "Remaster" or "Remake" at the end, that's something to be praised in current times. I still do like it though, just expected a bit more from it. Modding scene carries this game, I can enjoy classic charts from Diva F, Diva F 2nd and Diva X with old mechanics (Challenge timer) and community-made custom tracks. It's worth the price just for this alone, but there's no hiding that without those mods, it'd be a very disappointing PD entry to ever come out. Get it on sale, it goes on a discount often so you won't be waiting long.
I only needed to play for little over an hour to feel confident writing this review. This is a fast paced rhythm game using songs from various vocaloid artists starring Hatsune Miku. If you haven’t played a rhythm game, picture Guitar Hero but you use the buttons and analog stick instead. There are over 100+ songs here and I am discovering a ton I like and can bring to my everyday life. The game is definitely challenging but very satisfying when you get the hang of it. You will earn currency to buy various clothing cosmetics. All in all thats really everything I have to say about the game and thats ok! This game is very straightforward but extremely fun to pick up and play.

In my opinion, this rhythm game is a lot of fun and offers a satisfying challenge for both casual and experienced players. The music library is excellent, with a wide variety of songs that range from beginner-friendly to extremely difficult. The gameplay is responsive, rewarding, and keeps you coming back to improve your scores. The visuals are colorful, and the music videos make each performance feel unique. One thing I really enjoy is the amount of replay value. Mastering harder difficulties and aiming for better rankings gives players a reason to keep playing long after finishing their favorite songs. However, one aspect that I find disappointing is the way costumes are handled. Instead of unlocking outfits through gameplay, almost all of them are included in paid DLC. Buying the DLC instantly unlocks the costumes, which removes the sense of progression and accomplishment that comes from earning cosmetic rewards by playing. It also makes the customization feel less rewarding, especially for players who enjoy collecting items through gameplay rather than purchasing them. Overall, I think it's an excellent rhythm game with fantastic music, polished gameplay, and plenty of replayability. Even though the DLC costume system is frustrating and could have been handled much better, the core gameplay is strong enough to make it a worthwhile experience for fans of rhythm games.
