I wanted to like this game so badly. However the accessibility is SO BAD even with controller. If you have any problems with your hands/disability in them this game is going to be very janky and hard to utilize/do things. Farming games are generally fairly easy for these types of things, but somehow they messed that up. I loved anthos, this game was not ready or optimized for anything other than the phone game it came from it seems.
Cute, definitely better than most of their early games, but still very shallow even for a mobile port. A step backwards from Winds of Anthos and One World, which had charm in their exploration. Zero soul, I can attach to literally no character. Reusing assets and whatnot is fine to an extent, but to be charging so much for a game that recycles a ton and brings virtually nothing new to the table is a hard pass for me. The non-marriage NPCs are basically the same character with different color palletes, same with the house interiors, STILL. This is a reoccuring complaint I have with the Natsume games. Boring, no personality. What am I paying for? Maybe get it if its on mega-sale, or just dont bother. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I am a huge fan of anything Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, however this game immediately irritated me when there's only 2 options, fullscreen or full window screen, both of which still take up your whole monitor. Plus, unable to access the volume or settings until you clear the tutorial? No thanks. Immediate disgusted. I wanted to enjoy this game, but I was unable to as just the high pitched tune gave me a headache.
I wanted to love this game but it’s honestly so boring. Npcs quote the same 3 lines of dialogue. The stamina system is laughable. All there is to do is care for your crops and then skip to the next day. No heart and soul. Sorely different to the story of seasons games. Devs said it was impossible to add controller support to the mobile version. Now it’s all you can use and it only costs you double the price of the now abandoned mobile version
It baffles me that Natsume thinks they can charge $40 for this. It didn't take long for me to realize how limited the content is here -- in order to get anything done in the game, you'll mostly just sleep until crops are ready. The town is small with very little side content. Characters just aren't interesting. I strongly recommend getting Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar instead. For $10 more, you're getting much higher quality content that will last you much longer. UPDATE: I ended up getting this game again a few months later for cheaper. There is a bit more to do than the initial hours of the game let on, but the content here is still very basic compared to what you could expect from more moderately priced titles. If you can grab this for under $20 then it's a decent time, but at it's current $40 list price I'm still not going to recommend it. There's not nearly enough here to justify that price.
I really wanted to like this game. I played it on my android and enjoyed it. Was looking forward to the two new characters and more added content.. Like other players have already stated, it is a port with very!!! little added to the script, the screen forces you to a max size of your monitor (hurts your eyes after a while). Lots of open, wasted spaces. little to no dialogue. Wait till it goes on sale or they actually add more stuff. They already abandon their mobile version, so I pretty sure they will do the same with this one, once they milked it dry like their other games.
I love this game. I have been playing Harvest Moon games for almost 25 years. Yes sometimes the games may suck but i have found love in all of them.
