Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Hand of Fate is a mix-up between a Card Game, a Tabletop and a 3rd Person ARPG in this particular order. If you are looking for pure action, pure story and choice-driven games, or a complex deck-building game, Hand of Fate is not for you. But if you enjoy all of the genres mentioned above, you will find a unique game providing just the right amount of everything packed together! So what is Hand of Fate about? You build different kinds of decks compiling different kinds of cards, items, encounters and so on. Depending on which cards you choose the story you play will change, and your character progression does too. Some cards will give you more benefits than others, and the beauty of it is finding out what those cards do, because once you acquire them, the effect those cards are unknown until you encounter them. This makes it exciting to progress and reveal every card on the game board. While doing so you have to manage your resources, food, health and gold. There are also little things like buffs, but I will let you find out about that on your own. Some encounters require you to fight monsters/bosses, which are fairly different encounters which require different tactics. This happens in the 3D 3rd Person ARPG style part of the Game. Don't expect too much complexity here. It is simple, yet fun, much like the Batman games. The Endless Mode allows for multiple Playthroughs, which alter your adventure depending on the cards you choose. The overall difficulty of Hand of Fate is always fair and never seemed too easy or too hard. Yet to get some of the achievements you get to deal with a lot of rngs All of this is packed and created with the Unity Engine. Which does a beautiful job of maintaining a modern and immersive look, yet it's not "next-gen" like AAA titles out there. You cannot expect much about the overall Story here, its about creating your adventure by choosing different cards and unlocking more. The music and overall sound/narration are well done, and the card dealer is exceptionally voice-over.

Hand of Fate had the potential to be a truly legendary game. The concept is brilliant, the story and characters are compelling, the mechanics are clever, and even the combat is enjoyable. But one major flaw undermines the entire experience for me - the sheer frustration. Rare cards that are essential to progress or win, combined with the overtuned difficulty of the final boss, completely soured my experience. I genuinely loved every moment of the game up until the end, but the abrupt spike in difficulty left me feeling more angry than accomplished. It’s disappointing to say this about a game I wanted so badly to finish and love, but I can’t recommend something that left me feeling this frustrated.
Good game!
Hand of Fate has arena combat in the style of Batman: Arkham Asylum, but with encounters connected by a card map into roguelite adventures like in Guild of Dungeoneering. Letting you build the deck of encounters for each run and clearly marking which encounters still have progress remaining is cool mechanic. However, I found neither the encounters nor the combat were good enough to keep going past the halfway point of the game.
Always visit stores that might sell any items you haven't identified yet, you don't need to buy them in order to learn what they do. Stores may also change their stock when revisited. Always keep as much Food with you as possible, you never know when a 'Pain' card will destroy a bunch of it and leave you to starve. Many beneficial events also require giving up Food, sometimes in large amounts. You'll keep any tokens you won even if you die or forfeit a game, so it can be worth it to go for a token even if it'll cause problems in your current playthrough. For example opening the 'Cursed Treasure' will give you 3-5 curses, but is also the only way to get the card's token and permanent unlock. It's impossible to stack your deck with purely beneficial cards like 'The Maiden' and 'Soul Gem', so it's important to keep an eye out for other low-risk high-reward cards. 'Maze of Traps' for example is a great card as there's no RNG involved in beating it and the traps are fairly easy to avoid. Another example is 'Dead King's Hall' which involves a fight but tends to pay off better than most other combat encounters. Many initially good cards get grow worse as you progress through the game, so don't hesitate to retire old staples when necessary. 'Treasure Chest' for example starts good but eventually becomes really dangerous as it often turns out to be a Mimic even if you manage to reach and open it. It's generally better to keep combos short in combat as you'll lose the whole chain if you keep swinging at an enemy that just died, plus most bosses will counterattack after taking a set number of hits in a row. Of course his behavior can also be exploited to your advantage as it makes them more predictable. Powerful rings are a good way to fill your equipment slots as you can wear an unlimited number of them. One rare curse punishes you for wearing many at once and it might also lead to small bandit ambushes when visiting stores, but these aren't significant downsides. There are some very crippling curses in the late game, one of note being the run-killing 'Cowardice' (incapable of choosing combat options in encounters). Keeping some money saved for their removal is very recommended, and the card 'Soul Gem' should have a permanent place in your deck once unlocked as it allows you to remove a random curse for 5 Food. The DLC encounter chain which starts with 'Land Locked Lubber' culminates in an extremely tough boss fight that you can't remove from your deck until you beat it. The rewards for clearing it are amazing, but it's brutal if you happen to stumble on it early in a dungeon. The encounter that unlocks the fight itself is called 'Sea Journey', another tough clear as it requires a bunch of Success cards in a row. Fun Roguelike Deckbuilder
If you are wondering if you should play this game when a sequel that does most things better exists, the answer is YES, the original Hand of Fate has its own strengths. First off, it's just more flavorful. HoF 2 uses a more modern streamlined UI, which I am not a huge fan of, and the "nice" dealer who doesn't talk as much is worse than the talkative a-hole from this game, even if it's the same character. Secondly, it's more brainless, which I do not use as an insult, but rather a different approach that I sometimes miss when playing the sequel. In most challenges, you can load up on random cards you just discovered, add a few favorites, a few picks that sound good based on the parameters of the level, and have fun. In HoF 2 deckbullding is more restrictive, requires more strategizing, and you typically don't get to add as many cards, incentivizing you to stick with what's tried and true instead of what's new and unexplored. Similarly, the combat of the original is less deep, but it's more over the top in its effects and animations, which is fun in its own right. So yeah, do play both of these games, because Hand of Fate is not in any way deprecated by its follow up.
Schmökern for free: Also stell Dir nen Tee bereit und viel Spaß beim lesen...
