EDIT: I realize this review is written presuming that you know what Halo is. If you have not played these games you SHOULD BUY THIS COLLECTION (on sale)!!!! Every single game here (Halo 4 was aight), PvE or PvP modes, stand the test of time and are as fun and addictive as when they first released - even MORESO with modern features like 60 FPS, FOV sliders, mouse and keyboard support. If you didn't play these on the 360, PLAY THEM NOW!! Mostly faithful ports of the original Halo saga, from CE to Reach. Modern features like uncapped FPS in all games. Includes some minor blemishes and bugs compared to their original counterparts, which would not be worth mentioning if this collection had not been in development for over TEN YEARS, and has within the past 3 years been officially sunset by Halo Studios for future support. It is a glaring demerit against the claim that they care for these older titles when they have vocally said they will decline to do so without monetary incentives, I.E., paid cosmetics in games that released over 20 years ago with all customization available in the game for free. This being said, there are new features in these games that I feel like I would have been excited for as a fan of these games on 360. Variations of Firefight have been added to both ODST and Reach that include the Flood, Halo 3 received the famous Halo Online maps and they were added to match making, Halo Reach includes up-ported maps from Halo Studios creating the Halo 1 and 2 anniversary ports, which I find to be interesting and worth while enough to mention. MCC includes the single most feature complete matchmaking available for Halo to date, somehow having more features than Infinite which makes very little sense to me. You can select a list of varying gamemodes across different games and search for matches for all of them at the same time - *except* for the Ranked playlist, which, again, I don't really understand. I haven't found a lot of issues with the netcode but am familiar with controversies in the past about hit registration in Halo 2 and 3 being broken. TLDR, this game is worth picking up now, 10 years after its release, especially if you can get it on sale. There are minor blemishes and existing controversies and bugs over the decade of this game having been released, to the point where I have to mention them and demote a point from my score in my review. They deserve respect for fixing the product but it's hard to not mention how long it took to get here and how many customers they abused along the way. They should absolutely continue to support this collection over time in an official capacity, ontop of which, they MUST fairly compensate the Digsite team, which has been providing quality content to the Steam Workshop for FREE without Microsoft having given them a dime. There is too much baggage in the business behind the scenes of this game to go unmentioned, and it leaves a sour taste in your mouth when you try to enjoy these games. Another issue deserving of mention is that Halo Studios removed the original Bungie credits from all of the campaigns which feels petty.

good
Played this game for many years on Xbox One. Replayed some on PC and it was great as always. Halos 1-4 are all on here including ODST and Reach. The story and gameplay are just as legendary since they were released years ago and having it all on PC makes it more replayable. Any friends who missed out on Halo during the console days can experience a truly great journey (no pun intended) and have a blast in one of gaming's most iconic franchises. 8.5/10
this is the greatest thing i have ever seen. absolute cinema
