After 584 hours, Republic Commando still has me in its sights
This game is old, yes. The graphics show their age, the controls can feel stiff, and some parts are clearly from another era of shooters. But somehow, that is also part of its charm. Republic Commando still delivers something many modern Star Wars games do not: atmosphere, squad identity, and the feeling that clone troopers are more than background soldiers waiting to be replaced. Delta Squad feels alive. Boss, Sev, Fixer, and Scorch are not just voices in your helmet. They argue, joke, cover each other, and make every mission feel like a real squad operation instead of a solo power fantasy. The command system is simple but satisfying, and it makes you feel like you are actually leading elite clone commandos through Geonosis, a ghost ship, and Kashyyyk. The game is darker, grittier, and more grounded than a lot of Star Wars media. You see how dangerous the Clone Wars really were, especially for the clones on the ground. The sound design, the visor effects, the music, and the banter all build this military Star Wars tone that still holds up.

Is it perfect? No. Some enemies are bullet sponges, aiming can be rough depending on your platform, and the game ends way too soon. But even with those flaws, I keep coming back. If you like clones, tactical shooters, or the darker side of the Clone Wars, this is absolutely worth playing. And if you already love Delta Squad, then you already know: Rule Thirty-Nine: Never say no to bacta.
I got bent over by a super battle droid and it droided all over my health bar until it was empty 10/10 would recommend
Scorch, priming charge.
I used to play this all the time as a kid, but I was never able to beat the first level until I got older. My favorite single-player Star Wars game. Great campaign and story too. It's moderately difficult even on default difficulty.
STAE WARS Republic Commando.
It's like playing a singleplayer co-op shooter (and I love co-op shooters). A surprising amount of depth to both the FPS and strategy gameplay. I played in hard mode and I died plenty, but often the answer to beating a section I was stuck on was a change in squad tactics rather than simply improving my shooting on the next try. Alongside fantastic art, music, characters and atmosphere, this makes for one of the best singleplayer campaigns I have ever had the pleasure of playing through. Delta Squad forever.
I'm glad they killed Scorch in Bad Batch, because his AI in the final level made me want to kill him myself. This game came out in 2005 and it SHOWS. The AI is bad, the difficulty fluctuated wildly, and the game was buggy as hell. I know this is considered a classic, but I can't imagine wanting to play this in 2026 if you don't have nostalgia for it. It was a slog to get through. Multiple crashes, buggy mechanics, AI ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ itself, and the story ending is super abrupt and weird. I wouldn't buy it unless you played it as a kid, or its on a super cheap sale.
One of the best star wars games of all time, definitely worth the small price and the less than great graphics.
10/10 "Sir, I live in the zone." - Sev. Great game. Super unique with the squad mechanics and it works so flawlessly. Honestly some of the best AI I've seen even to this day. Will give you PTSD about Super Battle Droids.
Ey man this game is pretty cool and you should propably play it or something. Its pretty quite focused on the squad tactics so you gotta take care of your clone friends or youll get your ass kicked. The levels are also pretty simple. Open a door, shoot something, blow up something, move on, and do it all over again. Also theres only like 3 different locations you visit but you spend a whole lot of time in each one of them. I feel like Republic Commando is a bit overrated, idk, i was esxpecting more from this game because of all the praise it gets but its really cool anyways.
