14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

You don't need to touch the multiplayer to get your money's worth here. The storytelling across these six games is phenomenal. It goes from a gripping mystery on an alien ring to a desperate, high-stakes fight for survival. It has incredible pacing, memorable villains, and an amazing soundtrack that perfectly sets the mood for every mission. An absolute must-play for fans of narrative games.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection brings together one of gaming's most iconic franchises into a single package, offering six campaigns that span multiple generations of Xbox history. As a collection, it delivers excellent value, especially for players who want to experience the complete journey of Master Chief. However, after finishing every campaign for the first time, I came away with a very different perspective than many long-time Halo fans. I never played Halo growing up. Unlike many players whose opinions are shaped by nostalgia, I experienced every campaign with fresh eyes, judging them by today's standards while also considering the technological limitations of their original release. I wanted to understand why Halo became one of the industry's most influential franchises, and while I certainly understand its historical importance, I also found myself increasingly questioning many of its design choices as the series progressed. The collection itself is well presented. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 2 Anniversary received impressive visual remasters, and having every mainline campaign available in one place is easily one of the package's greatest strengths. The remastered cinematics are particularly well done and help modernise some of the older entries without completely abandoning their original identity. Unfortunately, the gameplay never evolved enough for me. Every new Halo introduces small improvements, but most of them feel like cautious refinements instead of meaningful evolution. Halo 4 was the first entry where I genuinely felt the developers were trying to modernise the franchise through a more cinematic presentation and stronger pacing, yet even then the core gameplay remained largely unchanged. My biggest criticism throughout the entire collection is the combat itself. I simply never found it particularly engaging. Most encounters eventually become a repetitive cycle of shooting enemies, running out of ammunition, swapping weapons, throwing grenades and repeating the same process. Human weapons rarely felt satisfying to use compared to Covenant weapons, and after several campaigns I often found myself avoiding unnecessary engagements simply because the combat stopped being rewarding. Mission design also became increasingly repetitive. While Halo: Combat Evolved suffered from repeated environments, later games often stretched their campaigns by extending objectives rather than introducing meaningful new mechanics. There were several moments where I felt the games were simply asking me to continue fighting through similar encounters instead of evolving the gameplay. Some campaigns handled this better than others, but the overall formula remained surprisingly consistent across the collection. Another criticism I have with the franchise as a whole is how heavily the narrative depends on Master Chief. Halo presents a universe filled with different factions, wars and military organizations, yet nearly every major conflict ultimately revolves around a single character. While Master Chief is an iconic protagonist, I constantly felt the Halo universe had the potential to tell much broader stories instead of placing almost every major event on his shoulders. The universe itself often interested me more than the character leading it. I also expected humanity to evolve much more throughout the series. Time passes, technology improves visually and new equipment appears, yet the overall military progression never felt significant enough considering humanity has spent decades fighting technologically superior alien civilizations. Human weapons continue to feel relatively conventional, and I expected far greater innovation in the way humanity adapted to an interstellar war of this scale. One thing that also became clear after finishing the collection is how divided the Halo community is. Many players criticise Halo 4 for changing the formula, but personally I appreciated that it at least attempted to move the franchise forward. I believe Halo needed evolution far more than it needed to preserve the exact same gameplay loop indefinitely. While I don't think Halo 4 solved every issue, I respect that it tried to modernise the series instead of relying entirely on nostalgia. I don't regret experiencing the Halo franchise, and I'm glad I finally understood why it became so important to Xbox's history. However, I also realised that Halo simply isn't a series that resonates with me as much as it does with many of its fans. The campaigns were worth playing once, but I have very little interest in replaying them outside of occasionally joining friends in co-op. If you're buying this collection because Halo was part of your childhood, you'll almost certainly appreciate it far more than I did. If, like me, you're discovering the franchise for the first time without nostalgia, you may find that many of its mechanics have aged considerably and that the gameplay doesn't evolve enough throughout the series to remain consistently engaging.
