Reviews
Do not be fooled by the negative reviews. This is the best way to play Halo Combat Evolved. It is a faithful recreation of the original and it absolutely nails the atmosphere imo. Graphics are on point, performance is decent for UE5 and the gunplay is top. Yes some lines do come across a bit wonky and Johnson looks like Steve Harvey, but this is the best way to experience Halo CE.
I played the original Halo like 20 years ago when I was a kid, I can't remember much how the original Halo was like but it was legendary (may be game is fun the most when we were all kids). I like this remake, no issue with it at all but no idea why this got mixed review on Steam. If you are a fan of Halo, you definitely should try this :) The only down side of this remake is, while it's 50$, it's relatively short (around 7 hours and half of gameplay)

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Team literally had a perfect blueprint and couldn't help but impose there own broken anti masculine slop into it.
as much as i wanted this to be good, i just didn't like it too much. you're better off playing it on mcc
This is the most uninspired remake I've ever played. In 70 minutes, the Game crashed twice. It goes at times as low as 25fps without DLSS on my 5090. This was not made to show love and respect to what Halo CE was. I could rant for hours on end about this but i don't want to continue putting energy into a franchise that doesn't respect Itself or the Fans anymore. I think this was the last Nail in the Coffin of Love I have for Halo. The only thing that was still keeping me was the Books up to this Point. I grew up with Halo and especially CE and i cannot recommend this game at all, it doesn't take anything from the Original or tries to build upon it. If you want to feel the magic of Halo, play the Master Chief Collection instead. Don't buy this Demake.
HORRIBLE performance
I wish I had played the new missions first, so that I could have refunded immediately. There's either ai generated content in the final product, or they spent every second on visual detail, and zero thought on anything else. This was a scam. One of four games I have ever uninstalled from my pc, and the only one that was uninstalled for reasons other than making space for other stuff. And I've done myself a favor and hidden it on my steam games library to be reminded of it's existence as little as possible.
Caveat-- was gifted this by a friend. Save yourself some time and money and go play MCC. - Voice acting + cutscenes generally worse - Legendary is a grind (better than Halo 2's but far worse than 1 & 3) - New library redesign is very 90s shooter - No MP - Art direction misses the mark (even on 343GS-- it's too bright, feels like a Star Wars Battlefront map) Prequel mission level design was actually solid imo but the CE remake level design is no bueno.
this remake of Halo:CE was just painful to sit through, once the couple hour honeymoon ended. the new missions were nothing notable, and only were there to pad out the content of this game, because they knew it wouldn't be enough to just release the campaign and call it there. oh, and no multiplayer, btw. why? I'm not huge on Halo's multiplayer, but it would have made this game more replayable, and this game desperately needs it . there is nothing in this "remake" that ever justifies the price tag, other then the graphics or maybe the gunplay, but that should be bare minimum for remakes. just don't get this, even on sale, Just get the MCC Collection, at least you can play a better version of the game that came out 25 years ago. this is just nostalgia slop that they are selling to you for $50 (or more for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ skins that don't justify the price or purpose). I shouldn't be surprised at this point, but that's what I get for assuming they would make a good Halo game.
