Great to revisit Halo, especially with a modern remake. The cutscenes play strangely, the graphics go wonky a bit, but you can still watch the cutscenes and understand what's happening. Even though there are issues right now, I would highly recommend if you're a Halo fan.
Es una gran remasterización de la obra original, me encanta el apartado grafico y armamento del juego muy recomendable jugarlo con amigos 10/10

The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Probably the best way to experience Halo 1 with modern conveniences & enhanced visuals. The gameplay improvements were quite good. ADS feels sticky, and I wish it used a more traditional ADS with the gun raised up than the simple zoom function we get. Sprint feels fine as well. Much as that might annoy the purists, I think these changes work for the most part. Visual changes (not just graphics but also level design) are a positive for me and really justify the remake's existence. They could have gone further with redesigning certain levels' repetitiveness, such as the ship hallways in T&R or the node rooms of AotCR & Two Betrayals. I can understand why they leaned towards faithfulness, but the changes made to levels like Pillar of Autumn, 343 Guilty Spark, Library, Keyes, Maw (really most of the post-Flood missions) were stellar, probably the best part of this entire remake. Prequel campaign is fine, the story is a little bland but it's a fun experience, especially being able to fight Brutes which aren't in the base campaign without the remix skull options. Really the base game could have stood to have more of the newer weapons and enemies purposely sprinkled in like the Flood tank form and the occasional Jackal sniper. Still, don't go in expecting much out of the prequel campaign. Performance/bug issues felt pretty minor, the main issue I had was during cutscenes and through some gameplay the wrong music would be playing on top of the existing music. I had 2 crashes during my playthrough, but the checkpoint system meant I never really lost much progress. Big complaints: $50 is a big pricetag for a campaign-only experience (and essentially single player-only since I couldn't reasonably ask my friends to spend full price on this).
love it. cant wait for halo 2 now. Anyone oh is hating, is just a baby straight facts
Overall, I like Campaign Evolved, but it doesn't make a very good first impression. Particularly for those already familiar with the original, the opening cutscene is jarring due to awkward pacing, needlessly rerecorded dialogue, and sometimes odd looking animation. This continues to be an issue throughout the game. It's impossible for me to say for sure what my reaction would be to the cutscenes if I'd never played Halo. The writing is still good, and the visual quality is wonderful. Still, considering they went to the trouble of prerendering the cutscenes, they deserved to be perfect. If Halo Studios doesn't fix the issues, I hope that modders will. Once you actually get into gameplay, it's much better. Movement and combat are very smooth and satisfying, not floaty or stiff. It's perfect for new players who couldn't get into the original. Features from later Halos have been added, such as sprint, ADS, vehicle hijacking, destructible vehicles, skulls, terminals, and usable Wraiths, Energy Swords, Fuel Rod Guns, Beam Rifles, and SMGs. There are two new enemies: Jackal Snipers and Flood Tanks. Some Elite Flood Combat Forms now have shields. To me, these new features felt seamless, and I appreciated their inclusion. Some levels, particularly The Library, have been modified to reduce repetitiveness. The Warthog run in The Maw was changed to show heavier damage to the ship and to try to explain how this section of the level can be longer than the ship itself. Apart from all that, it's pretty much same old Halo. These were good changes, and by the end of my playthrough, I had no doubts about recommending the game. Graphically, it's a huge step up from the previous releases of CE. The tone of the original was replicated much better than CE Anniversary, and the graphical fidelity is better than any previous Halo game. I have nitpicks regarding certain artistic choices, but I can't fault the quality. It looks best with film grain, motion blur, and chromatic aberration turned OFF, which will be possible without mods in the next patch. It also ran well on my outdated hardware. I'm running the game at 1920x1080 at mostly high settings and it runs fine for me. A bug in the game that's been irritating me is that keybindings don't save between sessions, so every time I launch the game, I have to change "throw grenade" from the C key to middle mouse button. This particularly bothers me since I'm one of those people who prefers C for crouch. I know C crouch is nonstandard, but C for grenade instead of MMB is baffling to me. Hopefully they'll fix the issue soon so I can set my controls and forget about it. Anyway, I would recommend the game to older Halo fans who love CE and want a slightly new experience or new fans who liked Infinite and want to try more Halo, but hate the game feel of CE. If that's not you, wait for a sale.
Are you new to the Halo franchise and do you want to try it? I would highly recommend getting Halo: The Master Chief collection instead, since it more or less contains this game, and the rest of the franchise (2, 3 and ODST are the best IMO), more multiplayer modes than just campaign co-op and is often found for the low low price of 10 euros. But to anyone else who wants to play Halo CE (the old one) with new graphics and a expanded sandbox I can recommend the remake, though it wouldn't hurt to wait for a sale. Halo CaE (Campaign Evolved) brings halo to unreal engine 5, which is a good stepping stone for more easily creating new gamesin the franchise. It plays mostly the same as Halo CE did, but changes some things up with additions from later titles and mixes up some of the leverls a bit, often for the better. "New additions" contain later weapons such as the Fuel rod gun, Energy sword (both technically existed in 1 but were not useable in campaign, [Fuel rod existed in multiplayer on pc]), an assault rifle that actually does damage on legendary, a plasma pistol that actually disables vehicles on charge shot, ,battle & needle rifles,sentinel beam and more. The vehicle Jack system introduced in 2 finally is addes allowing you to highjack enemy vehicles when getting up close, and some enemies from later games such as suicide grunts, pure form tanks and everyones favorite on legendary: Jackal Snipers. Overall it makes the campaign feel more fresh (I myself have often missed some mechanics from halo 2 and 3 every time I played CE, though I wish they included dual wielding) especially when combined with map changes. There are plenty of small map changes, most for the better (though some out of bounds killboxes are strict). Minor things such as the "Not a natural formation" tunnel getting slighly changed, the truth and reconsilliation containing less hallway and more functional rooms when gettings towards the prison, several changes to assault on the control room making the inner rooms feeling a lot less like the same room over and over;
But the biggest and best changes are in the flood levels. The use of flood growth to both change the look of the levels you pass trough a second time, and using flood mass to create walls and such to slightly change the layout of the level both look and feel a lot better. The maw got a lot less rediculous replacing a weird mid section bridge in a spaceship with far more sensible damage to explain the open areas; and everyone's favorite level, the library got a complete overhaul. And the looks and atmosphere in 343 guilty spark is just perfection
Then there are the new cinematics which are amazing, often giving a far more complete overview of all the things going on in each of them than what the original ones did. They are no longer rendered in engine, but like in halo 2 aniversary they look a lot better and far more lively. There are 3 new prequel bonus missions, which are OK. I don't get the hate for Williams much, seeing she's just another ODST for the most part (and yes female ODST's existed in prior games: Veronica Dare). They are decent enough missions, nothing fantastic but a lot more fun than most missions in Halo 4 for example. Some voice actors have been replaced, most notable Johnsons and Keyes. I do not know why Keyes got replaced but Johnson's VA is retired, and the new VA does do a good job, but did require some getting used too at first.. Keyes's new VA has less presence but also felt ok enough. It takes some time to get over the nostalgia of the voices I've known these characters to have had for 25 years and judge the new VA's in a void, but in this uphill fight trying to at least match the amazing work of the old VA's I'd say they managed to get pretty far up the hill. There are definitely some things I am less enthusiastic about. First and foremost is the increased handholding. Especially when playing on legendary, cortana (and chief in the bonus missions) stating some obvious things that any player easily managed to figure out. Pointing out stealth elites with markers is kinda stupid and
Having navpoints in 343 guilty spark removes the extra fear produced by difficult navigation in dire circumstances
. I would recommend turning markers off for the best experience. Then there are some changes in audio I dislike, the Magnum and Sniper rifle really were more fun when they were louder, and better conveyed how much power there was in these weapons. The choice to use Halo Reach's elites is ok-ish in my opinion. I would much rather have elites more resembling those in the original trilogy, but at least they did not use the halo 4 or 5 models. Also the cosmetic dlc for this game (a singleplayer/co-op game) just feels stupid (and would probably have been a progression reward if this was like halo 3), especially when for it's price you can but the MCC. The remix option is great as far as I've tried it. It could be even greater if there was more choice in which enemies (or even allies) with which units, and which weapons with which other weapons, and perhaps save and share these presets. All without the "All enemies work together" skull. Overall I do like Halo CaE, and it gives me good hopes for a Halo 2 and halo 3 Remake (hopefully bundled, with the H2A cinematics for 2 and modes like firefight, or perhaps some bonus missions more focused on the sanghelli).
LOVE this game, LOVE halo, if you LOVE HALO YOULL LOVE THIS GAME! TRUST!
Really good remake overall, I think the people complaining for some reason expected... a different game? its a remake, of a 20yr old game, and its been remade very well. It looks and sounds amazing, voice acting is good, people just love to hate. My ONLY complaints are the classic UE5 stuff, its a bit too pricey for the 9ish hrs of story for 1 playthrough, the bonus missions felt a bit pointless *to me* but they were still kinda cool, and a bit fun, and its nice to get new Halo content regardless. If you like Halo and/or havent played the first, this is a good way to start.
