Half-Life

I HATE IT. That was the one of the best and worst games I've ever played. It truly lives up to its hype, I can see why Half-Life is so beloved. This game is one-of-a-kind but also one of the most grueling gameplay experiences I've ever had. It's so incredibly buggy and the learning curve is steep. I hated every second of the combat, it was so incredibly annoying that I almost rage-quit.

It is astounding how well this game holds up. Is it perfect? Obviously not, it's multiple decades old. There are plenty of similar games that are arguably entirely better than this one, in graphics, story, gameplay, etc. Particularly, Half Life 2 and Black Mesa, this game's sequel and fan remake respectively. But I think if you're into shooters or game history you owe it to yourself to play through Half Life.
