i feel like they messed up the difficulty here. the last third of half-life was a bit too tough even on easy, but basically the last 70% of this expansion is borderline impossible on easy. enemies are bullet sponges regardless of weapon choice, and tbh i played the last hour on god mode and STILL ran out of ammo. that's insane.
The best expansion of Half Life. Playing as the HECU is a very nice perspective change. Level design is pretty good and comparable to the base game. The added guns are very nice to have and the displacer cannon is a cool concept. Race X adds a nice bit of enemy variety but I wish they used the Xen aliens a bit more. Some of the enemy placement was kind of tedious. Pretty good soundtrack as well.
Not bad extension. I liked it. Just a shame the game stopped launching when I had almost 20 minutes left.

My, it's been 5 years since I last played this game, and I still remember it like it was yesterday, going into black mesa, guns blazing. My only complaint is that I wish I'd played it more since 2021.
As one of the last games around half life 1 this a great way to end the 90s game and fun fact the people who made this are the same ones who made the borderlands games so that why this one is the most unique out of the three along with an cache of weapons
While i believe a civil servant, like yourself understands the importance of discretion my employers are not quite so trusting.

Its a better version of half life. The tutorial is way better, there are more enemies and more toys to play with, far more easter eggs, and overall its fun once you meet the scyther thing. I call it scyther shrimpface
it's pretty decent, i don't think it's as good as the original base though and i feel like people hype it up too much
