Cool game, I like that I can use movement to ignore the creatures :steammocking:

That this game was revolutionary is one of the biggest low IQ psyops in gaming history. It fluked it's way to popularity. Nothing remarkable even for it's time.
A staple in gaming history, the predecessor and building block for a lot of today's games. I won't go over much in this review, but I will talk about my experience as of today and some great years ago. Half-Life was one of my first experiences with multiplayer, and I have loved it ever since. The gameplay was great, the weapons were diverse and fun to play around with, the movement was clean, and the community was awesome. I finished a playthrough in 2026, and it was as cool as I remembered. The environment and levels still hold up, enemies are diverse and have cool concepts (some are pretty spongy when they shouldn't be), sound design is incredible (when it works as intended), shooting feels good, and the story is simple but well told. It's fun from the beginning to the end, always switching up its setting and presenting you with new and different enemies (up until the last few moments where it gets a bit dull). New areas can sometimes be frustrating to fight through since they are really difficult to clear when you don't know the position and numbers of the enemies you are facing, with health being pretty hard to manage at times, forcing a trial-and-error kind of approach. Puzzles were simple but engaging, navigation was sometimes not very clear, but you always knew if you were going in the right direction, and bosses were underwhelming but worked. I look forward to diving into the remaining titles of this franchise.
its honestly insane how well this game holds up to this very day, literally feels like a modern indie game with low poly graphics. tho the last part of the game isnt that good but the rest of the game is really good
