Как по мне дополнение на голову выше не менее прекрасного оригинала, но тут больше проработки , постановки, механик, врагов и оружия. Играется бодрее оригинала. Механика с барнаклом понравилась.

Half-Life: Opposing Force is amazing and I am so happy I finaly got to play it for myself. This expansion pack is at times better than Half-Life but at other times so much worse, I'll explain why. I want to say what I liked forst. The arsenal in this game is way more fun than in normal Half-Life. You get a lot of usefull stuff like the M-40A1 Sniper Rifle, the M249, the Barnacle Grapple and the Desert Eagle (with a Laser pointer which makes getting headshots easy). I think the being a HECU corporal is so much fun because the Black Mesa team and the HECU is friendly to you and it's just nice to be able to have more people helping you out. The thing I like the most is the levels. They were fun but at times they failed to give you enough health, luckily that only happend like 4 times or so for me where I didnt have enough health and the game said "Nah, you're on you'r own". Xen was not a part of Half-Life I was a fan off so that this game only made you go there once is nice. There is a lot of good sh!t here but I have some big problems with this game that I want to make clear. The new aliens (Race X) are just bad. I feel like Gearbox saw the Valve made Xen aliens and said "Well, my aliens can beat up your aliens" beacuse these things tank RPG rockets like it's nothing. Crazy how these rockets take down helicopters but cant kill a one eye'd, four armed tall guy with a bug for a pistol. I hate the Black Ops here because in the normal Half-Life they are hard to kill, it's also fun because there arent that many of them. Here you will often find yourself having 9 Black Arms run around shooting at you when you're on 4 hp. I said that I liked having both HECU and Black Mesa allies but they are not used much. I wish they had more of them and used them more than just opening a door for you or giving you a healthkit. I wish I could give this game a high review because I see the love here and it was fun but sh!t like Race X, enemie spam and the Black Ops make me think less off this game. I give Half-Life: Opposing Force a 7.3 / 10 on the T-T-TV rating scale. Thank GOD Valve didnt bring Race-X back in Half-Life 2 or the episodes.
