About
Gunswitch is a game that yearns for more! Thousands of monsters, ten thousands of bullets on-screen! Action packed with blood and explosions, mixed with the weight of realistic movement to capture the thrill of a fluidly approaching horde, skittering and slumbering in to get you. Steel yourselves for carnage! Steel won’t bleed, but cut through flesh.

Fight through massive armies, not only strong in numbers but in variety. You’ll come across enemies of all types and kinds, tough and muscular, fast and nimble, multitudes of bugs, giant lava monsters, or smarter humanoid species.
Monsters might decide to stick around with others like packs of wolves, make formations to increase their chances and as waves pass like tides of oceanic hell, they will get stronger.
Do anything to avoid your destruction. Run and herd them or push and knock them around with sheer force of firepower and explosions. This will be a case of natural selection. Hopefully it will be on your side.
Grab guns and upgrade them into sci-fi weapons of total mayhem. With modifications even a regular rifle can fire more projectiles, explosive bullets and have increased fire rate or higher stats all around. When one isn’t enough, get a new one!
Operate pawns, a squad of androids, equip each of them with these weapons, and there’s no limit to synergies and pure damage you might come across. Don’t worry, they will cover you automatically and you can switch between characters at will. They act like extra lives!

A future society of humans-turned-androids are locked in a facility called Cerberus. A space station designed to keep and research galactic level threats. Explore its each level filled with horrible dangers and help them get out.
A fluid, dangerous horde of monsters.
Guns with wild modifications that can shoot thousands of bullets!
Control a squad of androids that can cover you automatically. Or just use them as spare bodies.
Switch guns and characters on the spot to adapt, experiment and create new builds.
Escape Cerberus, a space prison with many levels and facilities.
Easy Local Co-Op, just plug in a controller and play as a squad member, drop in and out.

This game completely blew me away. The top-down perspective look great and wave based is addictive. Mowing down hordes of monsters is ridiculously satisfying, especially when the screen fills with chaos and you're still standing. Also, the game's gore feel is very good. The graphics are gorgeous, with detailed environments and slick visual effects. The character designs are creative and memorable, and the enemy variety keeps things exciting. I also love the wide range of weapons each one feels unique and impactful. Weapon upgrades are funny. You can clearly see that the developers poured a lot of passion into this project. It’s not just fun right now it also feels like a game with huge potential for the future. I can't wait to see where it goes from here. I was going to write about some of the thing I didn't like, but I saw on the roadmap that these things would be worked on. I haven't tried the co-op feature yet, but we will try it as soon as possible. Highly recommended if you enjoy action-packed, skill-based bullet hell survival game.
This plays horribly. Wait for devs to at least fix it some. Mouse aim has no cursor, so you just have to guess where it is by your aim line, and controller aim is patently horrible, as it moves far slower than the mouse aim while also noticeably accelerating out instead of keeping up with you, and then actually slowing down as it approaches your intended input direction. This feels horrible, it's trivial for devs to fix, and they were told about it months ago in the NextFext demo. The main thing that makes the game notable is having a group of robots fighting together that you can switch between and build up individually with different abilities. Cool idea, and I'd quite like to see a game pull that off, but this aspect also released in a horrible state. Your AI sidekicks walk between you and the horde (which often means more like strolling along inside the horde you're constantly retreating from--you'd really never want them walking closer to the horde), don't run if you run, don't pathfind to go around corners instead of sliding along often away from where you went and deeper into horde space, and just generally make no attempt whatsoever to stay out of obvious danger of follow your lead. You can switch to run one guy out of the horde, and the other one will just deliberately walk right into it instead of keeping on from where they were. It'll drive you nuts, and there's no upside to it. Near universal NextFest feedback about the AI being a major problem, and yet here we are. It has some potential to be cute, and the dev has expressed their intention to improve things, but they said that during the NextFest, too. Make sure you see some actual improvements, and not just wishful thinking. The release state of this is bad enough that putting it for sale knowing all this is concerning. The lack of simple progress since the NextFest is alarming. The effusive, obvious fake launch reviews are embarrassing. Updates will tell the real story, so look for those.
The game is really fun, and you totally get the worth of the price you pay! Great level and character design, awesome gun mechanics, terrifying enemy creatures and so on! The graphics and lighting are quite decent for an indie game, and I had almost no fps drops even with my old 1080. Worth mentioning that I haven't had any game breaking bugs either. All said, there are certainly some aspects that can be improved on: -accessing the settings can only be done on the main menu for some reason? -having to move and aim at the enemy can take a bit of time to get used to. I found it easier to shoot while going sideways, but going up or down messed up my aiming(perhaps it is easier to play with controller, dunno) -Friendly bots die too quickly for all the money you spend on them As I said, I've had fun time in the first few hours and definitely plan to play more. I am sure the few bugs and issues I listed will be addressed with updates, and I am looking forward to the full release!
If you like to destroy enemies one by one, then this game is definitely not for you. this game is for real brutal dudes who destroy enemies by the hundreds per second. hordes of enemies non-stop. thousand bullets per second. no break, no lunch, no days off. if you are a real man, then quickly grab your weapon and rush in with both feet!
Smooth with controllers, satisfying chaos, and cool weapon mods. Definitely worth a shot if you like wave shooters.
Great game! It gets addictive after a few minutes. Especially for those who like this kind of games, it should definitely be given a chance. I will continue to play, and I am eagerly awaiting the developments in the roadmap.
The game runs poorly on the Steam Deck and you only get 1 wave and just nothing after that 1st wave. In it's current state I can't recommend this game.
A very innovative game that clearly draws inspiration from classics like Crimsonland and Alien Shooter. The map design is well thought out, and the gore effects from the monsters are satisfyingly intense. The visuals are sleek and futuristic, really selling the atmosphere and immersing you in the world. It could benefit from some voice acting to enhance the experience further, but overall, I'm impressed. I can’t wait for the full release!
Gunswitch feels a bit like Vampire Survivor with advanced graphics - Though it's not an autoshooter, but a top down shooter in an arena showdown with guns and aliens. Since it was just released to Early Access a day ago, it is naturally and understandably rough around the edges. I had some trouble with aim and mouse synchronisation but otherwise shooting still feels good, the explosive guns & ammo have a good kick to them and have nice particle effects. One can't decide if the next gun drop will be a good replacement but the random leveled nature of the drops you get in the arena gives you agency on what to decide of your own preference, rather than a mindless next upgrade. The fps drops some people experience will surely be addressed in the next quick fixes. The game has great potential, looking forward to its development and popularity!
Grabbed this recently and ended up restarting once, but for the price, it's honestly not bad at all. The gun customization stands out and has a lot of promise. It already adds some nice variety to how you play and makes each run feel a bit different. I did run into a few lag spikes and a small bugs. It just feels like it needs a bit more polish. Hopefully the updates keep rolling in because there's definitely something fun here. If you're into chaotic wave shooters and enjoy messing with different weapon setups, it's worth checking out.
