Gunforged is a goofy fantasy roguelite shooter where you create broken builds every run. Forge your guns with randomized gun parts, collect passive abilities, and embed gun-changing runes into your guns to create the ultimate build. Enter the arena, lay waste to hordes of enemies, eradicate bosses, and extract with gold.
Forge your guns from randomized gun parts. Get the right damage, fire rate, and range for your build. Add runes to your guns to completely change their behavior. Make enemies explode into gold on hit. Add ricochet to bullets. Spawn pillars on enemy death.

Choose from dozens of passive abilities after each wave. Call down lightning storms, spawn "Blood Brothers", use your stamina as health, and more! Create the perfect build by choosing the right passives for your guns, or by forging the right guns for your passives!
Become overpowered. Shoot bananas. Forge a cow-gun. Get private security. Become a glass cannon. Become the opposite of a glass cannon (obsidian paperweight?)
Slay waves of challenging enemies. Encounter and destroy 6 unique bosses. Fight through each of the 3 arenas to encounter more difficult and unique enemies.

Use the gold extracted from each run to purchase permanent upgrades. Gain the Loot Goblin as a companion. Increase your max health. Unlock the rocket gun. Increase your Prize Wheel spins. Enhance weapon customizability. And more!

These type of games are not my thing, but I willing to take a chance with this one. I think it has some neat ideas, but it's not my thing. Still want to leave a review to help boost this game's reach. It certainly feels well made for what it is, even if it's not for me.
I liked it. The concept that you have 2 guns and need to shoot each - depleting the ammo in one replenishes the ammo in the other. It worked well and had fun guns and neat power-up abilities. I was kinda baffled at first about how the weapons work because there's no tutorial. For a game that's all about customizing your guns there's a conspicuous lack of information. I had a long series of bad runs until I figured out what I was doing, how attaching gun pieces worked and how to manage available rune slots and innate gun powers. I had a lot of fun exploring the different powers, guns and play styles. It got a bit tedious after I beat the 3rd and final level thus "winning" the game. You get to keep playing with modifiers, called "madness levels" where you can keep playing the same maps over and again just with punishments. You can keep unlocking parts of the skill tree and some other stuff this way, but it felt like it was over. I didn't want to keep looping to make incremental unlocks to keep looping... Buy it on sale. I think there's about 10-15h for the average gamer.
Gunforged, developed and published by Firebelley, is a roguelite top-down shooter that leans heavily into build experimentation and chaotic combat. Instead of focusing solely on fast reflexes or twitch shooting, it introduces a system where players craft and modify their weapons from randomized parts, layering on runes and passives to create builds that often feel bizarre, powerful, or hilariously broken. The result is a game that thrives on variety, where no two runs play out exactly the same, and success depends on learning how to make the most out of whatever strange combinations the game throws your way. At the heart of Gunforged is its weapon customization. Each run allows players to gather gun parts that change fundamental aspects of performance such as damage, fire rate, and range. On top of this, runes act as wildcards that add unique behaviors to attacks—ricocheting bullets, explosive effects, or gold-spawning enemies, to name a few. This system ensures that every session feels different, and it also encourages experimentation. Sometimes a build that seems weak or impractical at first can turn into a powerhouse when paired with the right passives or secondary weapon, and this unpredictability is where much of the game’s charm lies. The dual-gun system adds another strategic layer, pushing players to balance offense with adaptability rather than relying on a single overpowered option. Progression is another core feature that helps soften the game’s roguelite edges. While death resets your current run, collected gold can be spent on permanent upgrades, new weapon parts, and even quirky companions like a loot-collecting goblin. This steady growth gives players a sense of long-term accomplishment and ensures that repeated runs never feel completely wasted. Facing off against waves of enemies in varied arenas and taking down bosses feels rewarding, especially once you’ve improved your arsenal and unlocked tools that make previously insurmountable challenges much more manageable. The presentation is simple but effective. Gunforged doesn’t lean on cutting-edge visuals but instead embraces a colorful fantasy style that complements its humorous tone. The arenas are clear and easy to read, enemies are visually distinct, and the general aesthetic strikes a balance between playful and gritty. Sound design adds to the frantic atmosphere, with punchy effects and satisfying feedback for weapon interactions. While the art direction may not stand out against bigger titles in the genre, it achieves what it sets out to do and supports the gameplay loop without distraction. Where Gunforged stumbles is in its variety and pacing. While the weapon customization is undeniably fun, the arenas themselves can begin to feel repetitive after extended play. Many of the rooms share structural similarities, and despite different enemy patterns, the layouts don’t always provide enough freshness to keep the tension high across multiple sessions. Some players may also find frustration in the lack of transparency when it comes to certain stats or rune effects, as the game often leaves you guessing about the actual impact of an upgrade. This can lead to a reliance on trial and error, which fits the roguelite philosophy but risks alienating those who want more clarity in their decisions. Despite these shortcomings, the game’s strengths outweigh its flaws. It runs smoothly across platforms, including Steam Deck, and its modest system requirements make it accessible to a wide range of players. More importantly, its roguelite loop—constant death, experimentation, and eventual mastery—remains highly addictive. For fans of the genre, the thrill of discovering a game-breaking weapon combination or barely surviving a chaotic wave of enemies is enough to keep coming back. Gunforged may not reinvent the roguelite shooter, but it carves out a space for itself with its clever build system and emphasis on replayable chaos. It is the kind of game that rewards creativity, patience, and a willingness to embrace randomness. For players looking for a polished AAA experience, it may feel too simple or repetitive, but for those who enjoy testing unusual builds and seeing how far ingenuity can take them, it delivers a surprisingly fun and satisfying challenge. Rating: 8/10
This game has a good concept, but its only feature i could appreciate is a feature in alot of other games these days that do it better. Unfortunately the game seems dead? or otherwise, the developer isnt really commited to the update process, on an early access title with a solo dev IDK about yall, but i expect an update, or at least some form of communication once every 1-2 months as reasonable, to maintain interest in a title in order for it to be successful. (looks like the new cube world) considering neither an update nor any community posts on steam have occured since february 18th. One can only assume the longevity of the title. -Buy Smart
Meta progression is too expensive. Too random gun parts. Just not fun game
Ce jeu peut être vu comme un bon investissement, il a de quoi se démarquer des autres roguelite shooter, avec des possibilités infinies de combinaisons d'armes et de skills, il est facile a prendre en main, et travail notre technique et notre imagination. Je recommande.
Good game. It is a classical indie game with upgrade mechanics, the details and concepts of the guns have a well thought pattern. Sometimes you get passives which have no use because they cancel eachother out and the stamina does not reset to full if you play around in preparation mode, if that doesn´t bother you (don´t know why it should) its a solid game for a decent price, i always look at the cost per hour, i had 4 hours of fun until now and i got it in a bundle for 10 bucks and i will definetly do more than 4 hours, which means, i get fun and can discover cool weapons for less than 2 bucks an hour. What i really like is the artsytle, the weapon parts fit very well into eachother, you can create a gun which looks like a cow with dragon wings or you can shoot with a banana, in my first rounds i build a Zeus which throws lighning to nearby enemys automaticly or i did run a build using a cow and and a dragon gun. Aim for the Game is to create a set up which makes you OP, you get a passive every round and you can change weapon parts changing attributes of guns, its definetly fun to combine passives and try out parts.
Fun, love it!
