Well. This developer has only one project so far, and now I will tell you what it is: Fun scrolling shooter, action, roguelike by the way is not quite simple at first glance, in which the range of a large Arsenal of weapons accompanied by different sounds and effects. What is acceptable for the gameplay. There is a guide, which is typical for beginners, first aid kit can be found in the safes. Our hero, Why hero? Because it saves children from enemies and this is our main task in the game. There are 2 types of games-arena and arcade. We can not only kill here, but also break objects and even walls over time, which makes it even more interesting.
Nostalgic feel to it, loving the design. The guns and enemies feel responsive and I found myself going for "another run" quite often. Keep it up!
Its like a less hardcore Hotline Miami where your the good guy and save babies. Challenging yet fun. Pros: - Performance - Art Style - Gameplay - Controls - Weapon variety Cons: - Menu screen looks fuzzy(Improperly scaled?)
Just bought this game and played it for about 20 minutes, for 1 person developer not bad at all. Very challenging, but it gives a skilled player a chance to feel worthy by playing the game. I like the dash and slow moe, and the feel of the game. It is definitely worth the 4 to 5 dollars if you like top down shooters. The game can only get better from us reviewers giving feedback. My feedback is fixing the menu, which I have no idea because i don't make video games lol, but it's not smooth navigating the 3 options, also maybe have a controls menu in the settings menu or ESC option. There is a Q icon next to health which makes me think heal and everytime I press q I throw the circle shooter grenade. I am not sure if there is a heal option but that would be dope, if not still solid makes it more challenging. But yah if anything just remove the Q at the side of the health. That's all i got i think, definitely enjoyable, keep it up, I'll play it more and give more ideas I may find.
addictive game but lags when lots of enemies
Nothing special, except the theme. Perhaps if they pushed the theme a bunch more it would become a worthwhile game. Certainly rough around the edges in terms of hitbox sizes and such. The rooms-connected-by-corridors level generator means that each time you enter a room that's the same as you've seen before, it feels the same because you can still camp in the doorway just as much each time.
Note: This is an updated review as my original review for this game was dated and lacked detail and thorough investigation into the game, gameplay and the underlying technology. This updated review is more informative to assist gamers buying decisions. Baby Redemption is a simple 2D retro pixel top down shooter. A basic upgrade system has been attached so you can buy better weapons to start each mission. There's a "baby rescue" theme that doesn't make much sense and doesn't add much to the trash 1990's console game reject premise of this ClickTeam Fusion shovelware. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. And no, "zoom" just scales the locked resolution crapware "pixel" assets. It's not the same as actually setting the game to run at a custom or native display resolution. Game development is hard, so it's understanable the developer here didn't bother doing any. No game development? That's right. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the Clickteam Fusion construction kit - the "No-Code" construction kit that "Anyone can make games with!!". Including, you know, people who aren't game developers. Which is a problem. This is a very poor quality toolset sometimes used by amateur developers as it's free (so they don't have to pay for GameMaker Studio) and doesn't require advanced game development skills, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities (it's arguably worse than GameMaker Studio). Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. No-code construction kit drag and drop toys like ClickTeam Fusion are not intended to be used as a replacement for professional game developers, they're intended to make toys, jokes and demos to pass around for friend, and aren't capable of making professional quality games that can be sold for profit. This is harmful to the gaming industry as such pollution takes away valuable market exposure for actual, genuine game developers who used their talents and skills, and did the right thing by making genuine games. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Baby Redemption didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is collecting an SMG, which you can do very easily, but only around 31 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game, most likely due to the severe quality issues outlined in this review, and the nature of crapware toy games make with ClickTeam Fusion. The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 6 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're written in broken English from Russian review accounts, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams (with over 9,500 reviewed games, I am very familiar with the fake review accounts). The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. Baby Redemption is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
