As you travel through the realms of the dreamscape, decide how to be rewarded.

Dying isn’t all for nought. Collect inspiration to become stronger with each death until your enemies have no choice but to bow down to your awesomeness as you wreak havoc and become unstoppable.

I've been playing this game for a while in Beta testing/Next Fest and I can fully attest to it being a fast-paced, delightful rogue-like romp with tons of diversity to runs. The artstyle manages to blend retro sensibilities with a modern flair, and the score infuses the gameplay with constant whimsy (that distorted bass tho). Very excited to see where it goes from here.
Note: This review was completed with early access to the 1.0 build of the game. "Rightfully, Beary Arms is a wholly forgettable experience. Its few bright points don't do enough to make it stand out in a crowded genre, and everything else is destined to either be forcefully ejected from my brain (i.e. making multiple jokes about sexualizing a minor) or fade away naturally in a matter of days. I'm moderately curious about where the darker elements of the story might have gone, though the inconsistent writing and tone make me more than a little concerned about how tactfully such themes would ultimately be handled. And I'm certainly not willing to suffer through an unknown number of hours worth of middling gameplay and tedious, RNG-heavy design to get there. Beary may be happy to keep throwing himself back into his dreams over and over again, but I'm taking this opportunity to escape and never return." I know the devs worked hard on this game, but I just didn’t find myself enticed to keep jumping back into runs. While this feels like a decent game to me and was fun for the first few hours, I think there’s better out there, especially for the price point. i would easily recommend this game to anyone who loves a game that has cute art aesthetics, loads of builds for the runs and has a great dev team who listens to the community
If you're looking to scratch your 'Enter the Gungeon' itch, you've come to the right place! I've been looking for another non-serious bullet hell type game for a while, and can confidently say I finally found it. Cute AND challenging!
Playing as Beary, a battle-ready-teddy, I enjoyed by the game's charm and challenge. Full of clever in-game moments that kept me engaged. The arsenal of weapons available is both creative and quirky, ensuring every run felt fresh and exciting, my weapon of choice was a weaponized toaster. The game has an interesting "calamities/runtime" system, that helps or hurts a run by injecting events/rules forcing me to adapt my strategy on the fly.
Fun experience with a cute art style. I liked the cheesy joke for the mac 10 and cheese weapon, and how it played as well. I appreciate how you can unlock more augmentation slots to make the mac 10 and cheese even cheesier. Only complaint is that I wish I could always start with the mac 10 and cheese.
This has been on our list for a while, and we're happy we picked it up! Clever, Charming, and Challenging Loved the sense of humor across everything from weapon design, to dialogue, to enemies, to flavor text. Weapons seemed to do less damage than noted in their description, but the variety of weapon types kept play active and engaging, while providing a few laughs and points of genuine panic. Upgrades felt balanced and useful, the use of "radar jam" made moving through stages feel more deliberate, and we liked the use of the "calamities" to add difficulty at the players discretion. Some subtle graphic tearing in one of the water levels, and we were unable to get the reticle back on screen when switching from controller to keyboard, but it played very smoothly for early access. Had a great time with it, and looking forward to the full release! TWITCH: Twitch.tv/NerdLovesGeek TWITTER: Twitter.com/Nerd_Loves_Geek
For far too long, gamers have been forced to make a choice between games with cute teddy bears and games with alien weaponry. Daylight Basement Studio, asking "Why not both?" made a game where a cute teddy bear – in an also-cute onesie – uses upgradeable alien weaponry and other, less-alien weaponry, and dashes through waves of bullets. We live in an age of abundance; we live in the age of Rightfully, Beary Arms.
definitely worth your time and money.
