The balance is just bad. It's a slog and hard to keep up with solo. You need specific builds to win. It feels like the game is meant to be multiplayer, but it's built to be played solo. Work on balance to make different builds more viable. I want to like it, but it's tedious instead of being fun, and I have a lot more tedious games I enjoy. As is it feels like it's balance for a 3-4 person team. Solo I feel like I'm dragging my balls through glass.
Well this is a hard one. I generally like these kinds of games and it has a great art style, I wanted to like this game but over all it's just boring. It's not bad, the singular gun works perfectly fine, the shop and upgrades are a bit confusing but they work fine enough. There just isn't enough, as stated there is one gun, as you go through the shops you unlock bullets that boost damage. That's basically it, nothing crazy just damage boosts. Of my many runs the gun and gun play never felt any different. You can melee attack enemies with a knife, you won't You can repair windows to stop enemies from getting in, you won't You can sprint and combat slide, you won't An absolutely ridiculous amount of enemies spawn from all directions, to the point where attempting to use tactics like closing off entrances is pointless, You can combat slide past enemies, but there will be so many that you will just slide from one group into another with no stamina left and die instantly, the gun is also pitifully weak, it takes a full clip to down basic zombies on anything other than the first wave. The only way to not get swarmed and die instantly is to buy access to other rooms as quickly as possible (Limiting your access to items) then run in circles. That is every run, run in circles blindly firing into a hoard of zombies waiting for the shop to decide to let you have access, run to a shop to buy items, and feel no stronger or different anyway because the zombies scale faster than you can ever hope to. I don't feel powerful playing this, I feel like I am just running in circles waiting down a timer to end the run, even for 2$ (It's on sale atm) I just can't recommend it

visually its very appealing. Gameplay is extremely repetitive and gets old quickly. its just PG13 COD Zombies, but you're stuck with 1 weapon forever, which is very very lame, there's no character variety, because there are no characters, you just play as.. you, having characters with varying abilities, maybe different weapon, attack, speed would make it better, but collecting spells and items is all you really do. the only exciting thing is how the maps look as thats the only thing that changes. not worth $10 in my opinion, get it on a major sale, maybe for like $2-$3.

What do you get when you cross a survivorlike with call of duty zombies? Well, whatever your answer may be, it's not as fun as you would have hoped. Spellshot doesn't introduce anything new - it's a game that evokes the same feel as many others, but lacks the punch that other games deliver. After beating the first floor, I was somewhat relieved that 'that was it'. That's the big idea. An arena shooter with countless mobs spewing from set points, trying to overflow you, which often happens. To fight against the relentless hordes, the one thing you have at your disposal is your gun, which is a straightforward carbine, of each 6 can be adjusted with elements. Much like auto-battlers, these elements provide set bonuses which grant additional effects. Each bullet effect isn't too unique, but they do what you expect. Some explode in a fire ball, some generate chains of lightning, some poison, and so on. My confusion comes from the many different elements that don't usually coalesce in a good way - you can upgrade spells but you must obtain the same one several times and stack them to do so, which is a rather tiresome staple when you have to rely on RNG to provide the right card. You also have some terrible effects like a bullet that reduces your shield or HP when fired, or a bullet that explodes on hit, but there's no visual effect to emphasize that. There're also the stacking items that provide bonuses in the store, but, of course, you can't just refresh the store to get their effects as they're too strong. I don't think the above are necessarily bad on their own, but in a roguelite I expect some variety so I don't just use the same tactics every single time and get bored, especially considering in my 1 hour of gameplay I only played with but the starting gun. Of course, then there's the enemies, which at certain point becoming blocks to chip away at, which is never a fun thing to experience, especially with the introduction of exploding enemies, which still have an astounding amount of health. It's overall not bad, but I can say wholeheartedly it ain't for me.
Liked the core gameplay but the motion blur was a bit much for me. Would definitely re-purchase if there was a way to disable the motion blur in the future.
WTF is hold F to repair on a Fk'n controller???
it is a bite-sized cod zombies meets roguelite but it is way more on roguelite than cod zombies. grab it if you like roguelites.
Seems like it could be fun theres SO MUCH motion blurr and no way to even turn it down so it makes me feel like im going to throw up when i play
